その本宮は湯殿山神社大鳥居から徒歩で約30分、バスで約7分で到達可能。
霊験あらたかな修験の地とされ山全体が御神域とされる本宮は参道から【撮影禁止】と厳格なしきたりが設けられています。
また
・土足厳禁
・入山時に祈祷を受けなけばならない（祈祷料500円）
という徹底振りも他の神社にはない戒めです。
撮影できないのは残念でしたがお湯出ずるご神体様をこの目でしっかりと拝ませていただきました。
沸き出ずるお湯は場所によっては熱いです。
裸足での参拝は初めてだったので慣れない岩場の移動はかなり大変。
それでも参拝後は神聖なる足湯で身も心も綺麗にリフレッシュさせていただきました。
初めて訪れた湯殿山神社本宮は初めての体験の連続でした。
超が付くほどの感動体験
2021年度の閉山前に滑り込みで参拝できたことは今年一番の幸運です。
次回は月山にも登頂したいと思います。
