Updated Review On my first visit I gave this place 5 stars, but after my second visit it had sadly dropped. Firstly I'd like to say the food is very good but the prices on my second visit were extremely high, and if you place the same order for takeaway the rice comes with the curry but sit down is extra. I worked it out at 42% service charge for sitting in compared to the takeaway price. Yes there is a need for this, but thats very high. I did email the business about this but the response was " I can confirm that our prices were charged correctly according to the prices listed in our menu on that day" does the menu price change that often? Sadly at over €30 per person for a korma, with pilau rice, a naan and a soft drink, I don't think I can justify a return no matter how good the food was.

We had a second visit and again the food was lovely but we left with a bitter pill to swallow. On our last visit we had three starters, three mains, drinks and sides and it all came to €103. Went back for a lighter meal and had three mains, four soft drinks and two naan’s and it came to €93 (did we get three starters last time for €10)?. The maths puzzled me and when I questioned it I got a less than friendly response. It’s unfortunate but it makes a lamb korma with pilau rice around the €24 mark for sitting in and 16.99 takeaway so they are asking close to 50% surcharge on sitting in and I’m sorry to say it’s not worth that. We questioned it with the manager and were told the prices were correct for the day. I guess that means the prices change depending on the day you visit. If you’re lucky you might get the day when you get three starters for €10, but if not be prepared to pay through the nose.

No doubt the restaurant looks beautiful — the interiors, decor, and overall aesthetic were impressive. But honestly, I’ve never been this disappointed with the staff at any place before. One of the waiters was unnecessarily rude to us for no reason at all. We ordered three dishes, and while we were still trying to add rice and dessert to our order, he just ignored us and walked away. It felt like we were being treated like a burden. Then came the food — we asked for a vindaloo, and it literally had raw red chilli powder dumped on top of it. None of us could eat it. Our mood was already off, but we still thought of ending the night with something sweet. So we asked another attendant for dessert — and we could clearly hear that same rude waiter whispering to him, "Just tell them the sweets are over." Seriously? And for all this nonsense, we ended up paying nearly €100. The next restaurant we went to — far better food, calm ambience, warm staff, and even better interiors — and the whole meal cost just €45. Definitely not going back here.

I walked into Spice Waves expecting a fantastic meal, and to be fair, it didn’t disappoint - though there's room for some refinement. Food: The food was solid, but there’s room to take it to the next level. I had the Chicken Biryani, which was flavorful, though I would have liked a bit more of the aromatic spices to really make it pop. The Lamb Rogan Josh was tender, well-cooked, and packed with flavor, I’d love to see a little more heat and intensity in the sauce. I can tell there’s potential here - just needs a bit more balance and oomph to really make it sing. Service: Service was friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. The staff made sure we were looked after, though a touch more efficiency wouldn’t hurt - especially when it comes to getting the food to the table at the same time. But, no complaints; they were doing their best, and that’s all you can ask for. Ambiance: The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal. It’s a nice spot to sit back and relax, though it does get a bit tight when it’s busy. I’d love to see just a little more space, but the vibe was good overall. Conclusion: Spice Waves has got a lot going for it. The food was tasty, the service was warm, and the atmosphere was inviting. With just a little more attention to balancing the flavors and refining the timing, this place could be incredible. I’ll be back for sure - it’s a solid spot with the potential to be even better.

We got a take away, it took 40 minutes till we could collect it. Everything worked good and the service was very friendly. I was surprised very positively about the food. Coming from abroad, this food is pretty good for Irish standards. The food tasted fresh and nicely seasoned. Prices are also alright for Irish standards. Nice experience and definitely recommended when in the area.

Lovely friendly welcome, very nice decor. Monday night and still busy, would advise booking just in case. Food lovely and a special touch was at the end when the chef came around each table asking if you enjoyed your food. I thought this was a thoughtful touch. I would highly recommend.

Amazing. I got the chicken karahi which was phenomenal and the tandoori roti which was just succulent. The staff were lovely and hospitable too. They give you a free appetizer before your meal. The food is also halal. 10/10 would come again.
