DO NOT TAKE ANY TAXIS IN FRONT OF THE TERMINAL, they are all scams and will charge you even higher than the prices in Europe. If you're going to Tunis, just leave the airport, and you can find some buses nearby, and cost you only 0.5 Dinars. The photo is taken where the bus line 635 stops, which is just by the road outside of the airport. However, you can't see any bus stops, so be a little patient when looking for it.

Quite possibly the worst airport in Africa. Our Tunis Air flight is delayed and the flight board doesn't even get updated nor are passengers informed about any changes in time/gate. No one knows anything nor care, they just walk around with neck tags pretending to be important. Passengers are left bewildered not knowing where to go. The lounges smells of smoke and body odour. The toilets are wet and disgusting. In a world first, even the cafes inside does not accept its own national currency (no dinars, Euros only). To top it off, possible risks with slack personnel and procedures on security checks. Not a great welcome/departure impression for tourists and international business people. Absolutely need to improve. This feels like a cheap bus station than an International Airport. People in charge need to be fired. Investments in training need to be made for customer service. This is all a big shameful stain on Tunisia.

Let me tell u a joke: you are not allowed to use Tunisian Dinar in the Tunisian Airport. Once you passed the security control, all the shops and cafes will refuse their national currency; instead, everything is marked in euro and every airport staff says ‘NO’ to Tunisian dinar. Are you ashamed of your currency? Isn’t it a shame of such a beautiful country? Isn’t this your jurisdiction? I was wondering which big head came up with such a stupid idea to earn some more euros or dollars. Because it will definitely end up with a notorious reputation to people who visit your country. It’s not worth the candle…. Not to mention the long waiting line, the sloppy staff, the gross toilets, the unfriendly staff… (To the lady who works at the cafe: Why do you think it’s strange to use your national currency within your country’s jurisdiction? Why are you proud of it? Was that a polite way to give comments about your guests behind? It’s horrible to find that this lady as well as a lot of airport staff already took such a ridiculous rule as granted. My loss is only 30 Dinars How about your loss, TUN?

You cannot spend Tunisian Dinars inside the airport!!! Agree very much with Sani Ario’s comments about this airport. This airport is a poor, poor reflection on this country and people in power need to notice what impression the average tourist makes of the country being through this airport. Just because powers that be likely get preferential treatment they shouldn’t be so out of touch with reality. To all Tunisians, no point being positively associated with the Arab spring if you accept this from your government/officials. Respect yourselves more and demand better. If you know people in power, shame them with the presentation of the facts of how bad a job they are doing. Check in extremely disorganised and long queues while people roast waiting. There was no online check in for Nouvelair so everyone (even without check in luggage) had to queue.

Very bad treatment form the workers, police and taxis, they will only treat you nice when you give them extra money. And the airport is not clean at all, the ants are everywhere, the toilet doesn't have a soap and toilet papers, the praying place smells like a dirty feet and the food isn't fresh and expensive I don't recommend it if you planing for a cheap vacation unless you have a friend or a relative her.

I was not impressed with Carthage Airport. It looked very basic for an international airport. The most annoying thing is not being able to spend their own currency, Dinar airside. To top it all off, once you go through security, there are no currency exchanges anywhere to be seen. All shops only take Euros. What a travesty. It is shameful that the country's own currency is not accepted, and the shop staff look at you as if you are asking if they accept credit when you mention Dinars. Tunisia, do better.

Relatively small airport. Arrival area is a mess with not enough counters open. Was in line for over 1 hour. Departure area was okay, although heard of terrible check-in counters for a certain airline. Emirates line was empty 😀. Multiple small shops in the departure area after security. Lounge was small but not crowded. Not much choice if food either.

The Staff at the airport generally were nice. However, this airport wouldn’t really give a nice impression about Tunisia. It is a bit old and small, hence very crowded. What I found strange about this airport they won’t accept their currency and will ask you to pay in USD. I would not recommend eating at the restaurants in the arrivals area especially the pizza place they are scammers you can find decent place just outside the airport. Also, If you need a taxi just use Bolt no matter how the taxi drivers tried to convince you. They told me it a ride to the medina will cost me 50-60 TND, however it cost me only 11 TND with Bolt.

Nice airport for Africa. Modern facilities. Need to improve time to collect baggage though. We had to wait 45 minutes before our bags were loaded onto the carousel. No one seemed to be in a rush or care. Airport is clean and tidy. Check in was efficient and quick.

Awful airport. You cannot spend Tunisian Dinars, the queues are always long and it doesn’t feel very safe. The food and drink you can buy is extortionate (for Tunisia): €7 for a small Sandwich, >3€ for a coffee.

Quite a little airport. After security, there are numerous little stores in the departure area. Small but not overcrowded, the lounge. There isn't a lot of food selection, and you cannot pay in Tunisia Diner you have to pay by Visa or cash (USD or EUR) only

Absolutely the worst airport I’ve been - the airline doesn’t operate on their designated desk and everyone was telling me they’ll be open 20 min later. I printed out my boarding pass in advance but the security asked me to print out a new one. When I tried to go through security again a guy came and lifted my personal carry on and thought for a second if it’s overweight… Right before the security - a random guy with a grin came and took my passport, asking if I have any euros or dollars on me. I said no. He said what if I searched your bag? I said all I have is 40 GBP and he said why didn’t I declare to him earlier? I told him he didn’t ask for GBP and at this point a woman came and said yes they did and debated whether to search my bags or not. I told them you can search but you won’t find anything. The two acted like mob bosses joking about searching my stuffs and what they might find. I just looked at them like I don’t care and they decided to let me go. It was very clear these two jokers had nothing better to do but harassing US/Europeans traveling alone. After me they quickly jumped on a single woman… I love Tunis but this airport is just a nightmare to deal with. I don’t mind people being rude but here people acted like jerks for no apparent reason.

It used to be way worse.. Things got slightly better post-covid however it still is the worst airport I have ever been to. The duty free boutique is small and lacks goodies. Cafés were closed and way far apart. Security agents were rude. I hope things get better for the sake of this country.

It is a good airport with good facilities. Could add a few more chairs to the seating area near check-in counters as it gets busy during rush hours. Washroom facilities are good. Need to improve the baggage handling, as I had to wait nearly 1.5 hours by the carousel to be reunited with my luggage.

It's smaller international airport and functioning quite well. But, long queue and very warm during queueing as many desks are closed. Also, they still use the old paper forms system upon arrival and departure so you need to fill them.

Lots of congestion at Tunis Carthage international airport. Come super early to reduce the risk of surprises. This airport is very simple to find your gate and easy to move around.

We had the place to ourselves and your money goes a long way there a meal in a top restaurant for two is about £25 and excellent service and food. Carthage water park and funfair was great fun and has some sole traders market as well would highly recommend for the young and the over over 60s as we are both well over that age stayed at the Blue Marine Hotel in Yasmin which again we would highly recommend

Beware of corrupted officers at the airport especially tourists arriving for visa on arrival! The police at visa on arrival desk will cleverly show you a trick on how immigration procedures can be applied for tea money when you showed them hotel confirmation letter but even if you show them their so-called prepaid hotel voucher. They will openly ask you for tea money as a bribe to get your visa on arrival. They will make you feel like you’re nothing but water in their hands. Try to avoid visiting this airport at all cost.

Well, I didn't expect this from an international airport. I had to wait long queues at arrival as there were only two out of 8 counters working when I arrived! Congestion was terrible and there were no good ventilation or ACs functioning well. However, people and staff there are very friendly and helpful.

Medium airport with basic facilities and shops - just make sure you finish your restroom needs before arriving at the airport.

Just like every international airports it was busy. We landed a few minutes after another plane and had to go through customs at the same time. Long line but it was going by fast. The officer saw me with my little one and could probably tell how tired we both were and made us skip the line. #favored The staff was not too welcoming but once asked they always answered and helped. I was flying with my LO 4 suitcases 2 carryon and a backpack. There was no way I could push all of it out of the airport, I asked one of the security men working and he politely helpled and walked us out. #blessed

Old school airport doesn’t give the real good impression about Tunisia especially for tourists. At arrival you will have to wait long queues and as a repeated traveler through the same airport I can say most of the time only 2 out of 8 counters are working. If they would enhance the check in and arrival procedures, and upgrade them to be aligned with the international developed standards and with the great staff in the airport I can guarantee Carthage airport can be one of the best in the world.

Visited Tunis for 42hrs while in transit to another country.. old runned down airport.. extremely disappointing visit to this country. On departure customs seized basically all the funds I had for my 5 weeks of travel.. now reading online blogs, I am not the only tourist this has happened to.. I was basically conned by officers telling me funds are returned if penalty is paid… which I a lie because the web link they provide on receipt does not work. I shall never visit this country again.. nor recommend anyone to.

A simple airport - change your currency and buy your data SIM card here... but if you are taking Bolt as your taxi to the city, it seems like you have to walk to the round about that is in front of the carpark... That's like about 100m from the airport So do look at the app for the location of the driver...

Quite chiotic, upon arrival there was a long queue outside for entrance - for your 1st bag scanning to enter airport. (Everything gets scanned - I even saw donuts/cakes been scanned). Then inside the airport - was very crowded with lots of people standing around with no proper defined lines/queues waiting to be checked in - it was over-whelming. Luckily we heard someone shouted "London check-in" and then took our passport and printed our boarding passes then we headed to immigration, another line/queues with no clear directions. ARRIVAL NB: On arrival the immigration officer will ask to see a hotel reservation or you have to prove where you are staying? Immigration office had some bad attitude! He asked me where am I going I replied "on holiday". He asked again where am I going I replied again "to a hotel". Again he asked me where are you going I looked at him sideways making a stupid face and replied to him Oooo OK?! The he gave me the same look and imitated my reply - then asked where is my hotel reservation, I must show him. 🙄 He could have said that the first time! After if I am right, he started smoking... After immigration, I took 2 steps - then have to scan my bags. I literally took another 1 steps and 2 men were asking to checking everyone passport again. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Airport was overall calm with quick flow of passengers in the different areas. Service and airport cleanliness could be improved. Upon arrival, plan for your onward transportation in advance to avoid taxi scams (even taxi meters seem to be altered/fixed). On departure, none of the shops in the departure area accepted Tunisian dinars, only euro payments.

I paid for business class, they sold me priority luggage and priority check in, there was no priority check in, later they told me it was on the "other side". My luggage came in last after 2.5 h it was priority so it was supposed to come first. security is slow. There is a paper everyone need to fill in when you land but no one told me, so i waited in line, then i had to leave the line go fill in the paper and then go back.

The processes getting through the airport were all good, staff friendly and helpful. The real disappointment was that you cannot use Tunisian dinars anywhere inside the airport - such a loss of income for all the shops there. Going home with a couple of hundred dinar in cash that I would have gladly spent in he airport. I can't understand the logic of this.

A very old airport with old school bureaucratic boarding and landing procedures. You will have to wait long queues at arrival as there were only two out of 8 counters working when I arrived! However there is a great paid service where the staff, who are so friendly and helpful, will take care of stamping your passport while you are waiting in their lounge and then over-jump the long queues.

Wifi is not reliable, guards require a physical ticket (I.e. not one on your phone), you’re forced to sit on the dirty floor if you need to use the one outlet powerbank in the entire airport, Turkish Airlines counter is not open unless it’s within 2 hrs of a scheduled departure.
