🫤 Extremely disappointing meal. Came after seeing such good reviews. We even made our way here from the waterfalls to have lunch. Trust me, the view isn’t that great either. When we reached the whole restaurant was empty (it was lunch time). Food took almost 20 mins to be served. The only saving Grace... Extremely disappointing meal. Came after seeing such good reviews. We even made our way here from the waterfalls to have lunch. Trust me, the view isn’t that great either. When we reached the whole restaurant was empty (it was lunch time). Food took almost 20 mins to be served. The only saving Grace was the nasi goreng special, the rest (sate lilit) and octopus was not up to standard. Even the hotel I stayed in provided better sate lilit for breakfast. Food wise, doesn’t match the price we paid. Take your money somewhere else. I believe you can find better restaurants in Ubud.

Wonderful place for the food and ambience. The taste and quality is better than what we had in the city area. The price is also lower. We had breakfast and dinner. Both experiences were excellent. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back to this place whenever I am in Bali.

So disappointed. The view was very nice, although nothing spectacular compared to many other places in the area that overlook valleys, rice fields and jungle. The food was a big let down. I get it wants to be some sort of upmarket gourmet experience, but it doesn't quite make it as it's simply big standard balinese food with a fancy presentation - the only upmarket gourmet aspect of it is the measly portions in the middle of a big empty plate. I asked the waiter how big the ribs were and was told a very generous portion of 6 stacked ribs, perhaps even enough for two. Well I kid you not, this is what they tried to feed me. Hand for scale. 2 ribs with a 2"x2" square of dry, chewy meat with mostly connective tissue. Could have been 80g on a good day. When I brought this up did they offer to change it with something else or take it back and bring it back out with a human-sized portion of ribs? No. They said keep it and we'll discount it to the cost of the next cheapest dish. We paid the bill and went somewhere else to have a proper dinner.

Enjoy your meal with excellent view. We have the pleasure to be served by Arik. She is excellent in customer service. Surprising she managed to remember all of our name names. Stayed in wapa de ume during Chinese New Year. Restaurant was holding special event for restaurant as well.

I really loved this place. We left busy Ubud to see some of the 'country' side, and found this restaurant and we were so glad we found it! We arrived at happy hour, so we were already happy. Buy two get one free cocktails, and they were really good cocktails. The food was even better, the crispy fried duck was great. Their Bali cuisine (as in their name) was great, and they have a very wide selection. The service was also very good with a really good view of some rice fields!

Beautiful setting, best coffee (mocha) I've had in bali so far! View is amazing, feel like you're miles away from everything. Got the crispy duck which was nice, but a bit underwhelming. Just tasted like any fried chicken to be honest. But in saying that, it was good. Staff very friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

Came here for lunch today and it was great! We were greeted by our server Arik who gave us fresh wipes when we sat down and water. She was very polite and gave us amazing service, I was very impressed. The food and drink were lovely I will definitely come back again.

Amazing restaurant with great food, the most friendly staff, and incredible views. We ordered the Chicken Burger and Lava cake, both of which exceeded our expectations. Prices are also very affordable / cheap! Note: We were a little suspicious of the black burger bun but it was 10/10! We’ll certainly be coming back. Thank you!

We loved learning from Arik & Purnama, they taught us the finest cooking of Bali! We then shared our own delicious dishes in their beautiful organic garden, surrounded by nature. Congratulation for the fantastic experience !!

I came here to have some food and watch the sunset. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Gorgeous view, really friendly staff and great food! They even attended to my needs for gluten-free options and gave me gluten-free bread. Definitely recommend checking out Mr. Wayan’s, especially for sunset. 🌴🌅

Food was delicious, service was fantastic, Arik was very friendly and helpful with the menu. And the view was beautiful. A few minutes outside the main city of Ubud so we could enjoy the surroundings peacefully. We will be recommending this restaurant to all our friends who plan to visit Ubud

I came here by excellent google evaluation. I ordered seafood Sate & octopus, and speaking honestly sate is good but octopus is not good quality (I am Japanese, often eat raw octopus). In the restsurant, there is live music, men duo was singing. The music is good but volume of sounds is too loud for dinner. I am sorry I cannot relax & enjoy talking this time. Staff service is good!! Thanks for sincere reply, I'd try another menu if I have an opportunity....

Me and my family went to this amazing resteraunt facing the nice sunset over the forest. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. We got the crispy duck, pork rib and nasi goreng , all the dishes came out with beautiful plating and the food was very flavorful. I personally enjoyed the nasi goreng as it had a big portion.

I did the cooking course and it was wonderful. It starts with an earlyish trip to the local market, which was very interesting and then you work with a chef to create your own three course meal. The food was all wonderful and the team was helpful, informative and very patient with me! Definitely recommend doing this.

We did a private cooking class, and it was a lot of fun! They asked us first if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions. They explained all the ingredients and showed us how to make two different appetizers, two different mains, and dessert. We were able to participate as much as we wanted, but they helped us do all the difficult things. We were able to sit down and eat between each course. They really took their time, and all the food was really fresh and delicious. We made two soups (mushroom and seafood), chicken curry, fried rice, and for dessert caramelized bananas and crepes with coconut. Very friendly people. Highly recommend this experience.

After a busy hot day in Ubud, shopping and running around Bali with tours, I found a great place to relax and think. It’s comfortable and clean at Mr. Wayan Ubud’s restaurant. The view priceless, the staff very warm and the food wonderful. The atmosphere and music let you calmly collect yourself from a busy day. Come enjoy all they offer. I liked it so much, I came back twice. I highly recommend the pork chop with peppercorn sauce. Dessert is great too! Killer sunset and sunrise view.

Loved the food at Mr Wayan , The cultural BBQ and Dance is great, also recommend the cooking lesson. Thanks to Arik, Chef Made Purnamma, Mang and all the staff for taking care of me. Seafood Fried Rice and the Octopus dish were amazing! Love the food so delicious! Great Breakfast variety and also delicious.

On our last day in Ubud we booked a private cooking class which was a real highlight of our trip. We were taken to an early morning market in Ubud town where lovely Arik showed us around and introduced us to all the ingredients we would be using in our cooking class. Some of which we didn't recognise. Arik was very enthusiastic and even bought some fruits we hadn't seen before so we could try them! Back at the hotel, in a little outside kitchen overlooking the rice fields we were introduced to Nawe, chef at the hotel and our teacher for the class. He knowledgeably showed us step by step how to prepare the ingredients, cook the authentic Balinese dishes and plate them beautifully with the help of Arik. He even was careful to give appropriate substitution ideas for ingredients we might not find easily at home! Arik was alongside all the while lending a hand where we needed. We ate at a beautiful little table overlooking the rice fields and the food and the whole experience was wonderful! Thanks Mr Wayan & Team ❤️

I had the pleasure of dining at a remarkable restaurant during my visit to Ubud, Bali. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, Akira, whose genuine hospitality and attentiveness made our dining experience truly exceptional. What stood out even more was the incredible culinary expertise of the chef. Not only did they showcase their talent through beautifully crafted dishes, but they also went above and beyond to cater to our specific preferences. The chef graciously accommodated our requests and made delightful tweaks to the menu, resulting in an unforgettable meal that perfectly suited our tastes. The attention to detail and the willingness to go the extra mile truly impressed us. Akira’s warm presence, combined with the chef’s culinary prowess, created an inviting and personalized dining experience that surpassed our expectations.

Ate at this restaurant so often because I stayed at Wapa Di Ume. Tried all menus — breakfast, lunch & dinner. Their breakfast is amazing!!! If you’re a guest at the hotel, breakfast is free. You get to choose 1 main (good selection of local or western options). Fresh fruits, fruit juice, coffee, tea and croissants/ pastries with jam provided. I would recommend these mains: fried noodles, bubur ayam porridge, spinach mushroom & eggs Benedict. For their lunch/ dinner — get their crispy duck! Flavourful local dish. I loved their potato fritter (like an Indonesian begidil) in the mix fritter appetiser dish, but not a fan of the corn one (you can opt for all potato). Chicken soup (like Soto Ayam) is pretty good too. Cocktails are decent, not the best.

Excellent place to eat. I took the grilled chicken and my partner the beef satay. We both enjoyed our food. The staff was super nice and cherry on the cake the view on the rice fields at sunset is amazing. We’ll be back ✨

This place is the best restaurant I've been to in Ubud. Everything is fine here. Delicious dishes, a large and diverse selection, very attractive prices compared to other restaurants in the area, large portions. The dishes are very nicely served :-) Professional service, and the decor of the place is pleasant and unobtrusive. It is very interesting that, as in Bali, the wines here are at a very good price. I will come back here whenever I get the chance :-)

We had the best time at Mr. Wayan! The traditional Indonesian food was exceptional and the service surpassed all expectations! Special mention to Arik who was a wonderful hostess! I would highly recommend this restaurant for dinner, as it’s very well priced, holds a wonderful atmosphere overlooking the rice fields, would definitely come back again!

The cooking class was an amazing experience. From the walk in the morning at the traditional market to the actual full immersion into the Balinese kitchen we were able to learn, cook and taste the delicious traditional dishes from Bali. Huge thank you to our chef Ayuk and Lasmini for patiently guiding us through the incredible step by step experience. I recommend this to everyone!!

A very authentic Balinese food and the price is very affordable. The view is amazing, the vibe is good. Good Food + Good Vibe + Good View + Loveable Partner + Good Drink = What else can you ask for. :) I would say the crispy duck is good but not memorable. I like Ayam jejeruk (Indonesian Chicken Curry, but not the Indian or Thai type of curry, it’s different), gurita ( Indonesian style of octopus), perkedel jagug ( corn fritter). oh man , these three food is amazing. I order them again for take away. It’s very delicious !!! Very Recommended!!!

The restaurant is located at the Wapa di Ume Resort with beatiful views of rice fields. The cuisines we had use an incredible varieties of spices, blended with fresh vegetables, meat and fish. The poached chicken is delicate and easily shredded from its bone, while the sayur urap or vegetable in grated herb coconut remain tasty and the chicken broth, hot.

Although we did not stay at the resort just next to the restaurant we ended up coming here multiple times for lunch and dinner while we stayed in Ubud because the cuisine and ambiance was amazing. The portions are very big and the flavor is wonderful. We also appreciated the incredible service - especially from Gede! The menu is also very large so it was nice to try some things that are not at your typical warungs.

Food and service are amazing here. We only had breakfast at this restaurant, but it was always great. Only downside was there were a lot of critters around - should be expected since it's a "nature resort" but it could throw you off to see a gecko run behind your nasi goreng if you're not expecting it.

An amazing Balinese restaurant recommended to us by our villa host. You'll pay prices that will approach Western menus, and you won't complain at all because the food will just be that good. Plus, the views from the restaurant deck are incredible. Lunch for two with 3 drinks came out to about $44.00, which in my opinion is well worth it if you want to experience Balinese fine dining.

(Translated by Google) Worth eating at this shop !!!! It is clean - economical with very tasty food !! You will taste Balinese cuisine properly cooked and carefully !!! The environment is very beautiful, it has a terrace !! Extra tip has several wine labels rare for shops in Bali, wines all over the island are more stingy as they are imported - it's not a prohibitive cost but not as economical as you might imagine - (Original)

Me and my wife experienced the Cooking Class and it was amazing! We were both guided through the whole class and we were able to cook our own food and eat it right after. It allowed us to get in touch with new ingredients and flavors. Furthermore, it was a different a funny way for us to know more about the Balinese culture. The place was fantastic and the staff super helpful and easygoing like the rest of people from Bali. I extremely recommend this experience.
