Avoid booking this resort. They are closed even though they show up as "available" on various booking sites. The owner seems to have not notified the various booking sites that they have been closed. We booked this resort from the 27th - 31st of December 2021. We arrived on the 27th and were told by the guard at the door that the resort has been closed for over a year. We called the hotel number and no one picked up. We were left scrambling last minute for a hotel and for our refund from Agoda (which we eventually recieved). Better save yourselves the stress and look elsewhere!

We stayed in this hotel during our honeymoon. We chose a large room as we were staying for 4 nights. the room was quite nice and big. There was a bath tub on the balcony and it was pleasant. It was very pleasant to relax in the bathtub in the evenings. The room fully provides the privacy you expect. The restaurant was also very nice. Since we were going to get up early in the morning to travel, they provided our breakfast to our room when we wanted it. There are rice fields in the hotel. The experience of doing yoga against the rice fields in the morning made me very happy. The location of the hotel was very very close to the center of Ubud. We went to the city very easily. There are also shuttles for the city centre. The only problem was the bed was very uncomfortable. That's why I gave it one star less.

Had a wonderful experience at the resort The staff is extremely kind and polite, goes out of their way to serve you. The food was amazing and the best thing is that they customise the food according to your preference. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay with picturesque views and beautiful ambiance

A very beautiful hotel, with ducks and ponies occasionally roaming on the paths throughout the resort. Our room (a one-bed pool villa). was well appointed with everything we needed. Could be a five star experience if requests were tended to a little faster. We asked for our room to be cleaned while out for lunch (a two hour window), but it was not done. We got a call asking for a time for luggage pickup, but it did not arrive. Requests for maintenance for the room were not addressed until 30-40 minutes after the call. The rooms are also not very soundproof, we could hear music and chatter from next door while inside our room with all doors closed. Perhaps this is traditional Balinese housing style, however it did not make for a tranquil experience. All in all, however, a good experience from a relatively new hotel.

Amazing resort. Beautiful rice field view. The "free" (They won't give the soft copy. You have to buy them) photo shoot was slightly disappointing. Some photos colors were weird. I was wearing white shirt but the photo came out slightly blueish. Nonetheless, we had a great time over there. The 7 course meal was outstanding. You should definitely try it. I have one complaint. They should have a slightly better environment responsibility. From our Villa, we could see a pile of trash at the bottom of the river. It's not visible easily but if you go to the balcony and look closely to your right, you can see it.

Few issues: 1. Massive cleaning issue. 2. Honestly not a 5 star resort. Price does not justify the quality. Booked it at $430+ per night, thinking it'll be very nice and relaxed stay in a nice resort but it's honestly fraudulent. 3. Being close to the farm area is not an excuse for insects and ants. Stayed in another resort surrounded by gardens and jungles but was kept so clean and had pest control, so no insect inside the room at all. Even our luggage has ants crawling inside. 4. My wife's legs are filled with ant bites. 5. The staff tries their best to be helpful but they honestly don't know better. When we requested a deep clean, they just said we'll change sheets, but no change in the insect situation. Could go on and on but in short not a 5 star. If it was a 3 star and a cheap resort, this is acceptable but this is just a scam.

We LOVED Visesa! Such an incredible hotel for so many reasons. The moment you arrive you are greeted by a wonderful staff surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Rice paddies, jungle forest, amazing architecture and plenty of flowing water at this resort. Our room was amazing, comfortable bed, great shower and extremely clean. The resort is large so it's very quiet. It's a quick 10 minute drive to Ubud center market and the monkey forest. You get the best of both worlds being close to the attractions and tucked away in a quiet location! Again, this is the greatest staff I have ever seen at any hotel in the world. In the 5 days we stayed here, every single one of them will go above and beyond for you. We had just been white water rafting in the Ayung River and my clothes (including shoes) were in a separate plastic bag soaking wet. They smelled absolutely awful. The staff noticed it and offered to clean everything for me overnight. One of the many amazing things they did. Highly recommend this hotel!!

If you're looking for a 5 stars resort experience, this might not be the place for you! I'll say first that the rooms are beautiful. The grounds are green and well taken care of. With that said, the pool is tiny with 4 beds and two umbrellas. No pool attendance. You'll have to find the towels and clean the pool from leaves and bugs if you'd like to swim in it. The breakfast was very poor selection. And if you get there when it's busy, you'll have to constantly ask whats up with your order of eggs or coffee.... It took us more then half an hour every day to get the omlet we ordered. Definitely not worth the top $ you'll pay for this place.... Needless to say, we won't be back !

A recommended place for rest for the whole, big family. Paddy fields nearby. Well maintained, even though several unused rooms were opened and heavily-unmaintained (moss, crust on the floor, etc.). Due to COVID-19 pandemic the amount of staff was very limited, also the choice of breakfast and the number of hotel attraction as well.

One of the best resort I have visited. I went bali for honeymoon. Everything was perfect. Not so far from airport. They have shuttle service from resort to main road and for resort trip as well. They grow organic vegetables and rice for resort kitchen. We booked one bedroom with private pool villa and it was amazing. My husband request a small cake for my birthday and asked to pay for it and they denied to pay and said it's our pleasure to do for customer and support him to made my day special. They surprise me with the cake and wishes in the morning on breakfast. I really thankful them for that. Staff is very polite and welcoming. They welcome every person who staying there with cocktail and there cultural thing like flowers , Tilak etc. Must visit for awesome experience at this resort. Giving 5 star for everything. Thank you 😊

Nothing to add. Staying there currently and the service is absolutely fantastic. The rooms are very nice and the villas are stunning. An oasis of rest and peace. Food is very good. Surroundings are wonderful... one of my very best stays ever (and i visited 34 countries so that says something).

The best and kindest service we had in Bali. Amazing setting with the farm and jungle. The resort offers all the needs of a resort while having a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I had the best food while staying here. Highly recommend a room with a private pool.

Ubud was pretty chaotic, Desa Visesa is the exact opposite. Gorgeous setting, quiet, luxurious rooms, delicious food, and incredibly friendly employees.

Beautiful resort and I can tell that pre-pandemic it was amazing. It is very large and has a trail in the back, farm, and caves that were apparently once meditation rooms. They only opened back up last month I believe and there is still a lot of work to be done. Some parts of the resort definitely seems like it was unmaintained during the pandemic. The main parts (room, reception, and restaurant) are beautiful and nice. The pool in my opinion could use scrubbing to make it a bit more welcoming. I think if I had gone in with the idea that it was a 3 or 4 star hotel, my expectations would have been met. I truly believe it was once very worthy of a 5 star hotel. 4 stars overall because the resort itself is still in a beautiful environment, the room we were in was very comfortable (amazing bed and pillows! The best pillows I’ve felt lol) and the employees were very nice. The check in experience was great and probably one of the most relaxing check ins we’ve had. The breakfast was also good. I hope they continue to bring the resort back up as it really has beautiful architecture and surroundings.

Perfect place to stay in Ubud! + Rooms are amazing. A lot of details, everything looks super clean and new, comfortable. Sometimes it is just too nice it is hard to leave the room! + All common areas are amazing: rice fields, playing areas, swimming pool, reception. Even the gym is quite nice (open 24 hours) + staff is amazing. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice A couple of suggestions/remarks: - they only offer a shuttle service every 2 hours from 11:00 to 21:00. Considering it is only a 4 min drive they should really increase the frequency and offer an earlier and later shuttle. It just doesn’t cost them much and it helps guests a lot - breakfast is quite good but maybe it is not up to the standards of the hotel (still 5 stars breakfast) but maybe they should improve the quality of the pastries and especially be a bit faster with the eggs/coffees I would definitely go back!

We spent 2 nights at the pool villa. To start off, the hotel staff are very friendly and the service is pretty good. The hotel however has some serious issues. * The walkway is dimly lit and considering all the trees that the resort has, it attracts a lot of insects and with nights, they just keep flying and wandering around after sunset. * The motorbike parking has no lights * The pool villa I stayed in was especially bad as there was no lights in the patio area and the entire place became very dark after sunset. I had to request extra lights from the front office, which was done promptly. Shoutout again to the great service. * The pool villas don't have a compound. It's just a makeshift fence with plants and anyone can easily spy on you. It felt super unsafe and we didn't use the pool amenity because of this. * The breakfast is a hit or miss. The two days I spent at the resort, breakfast was excellent on one day and absolutely horrendous on the other. They keep pastries and dessert out in the open and I literally saw fruit flys sitting on the food. Not a great experience for a 5 star hotel.

Visesa was a lovely place to spend a few days. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the room very comfortable and the grounds absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast with lots of great options and watching the waddling of ducks waddle back and forth between parts of the rice paddy as I ate. I’m traveling solo, so enjoyed a place to relax and take a deep breath from the day to day. I both wished I could have walked out and been in the center of Ubud and was glad I wasn’t. Ubud is quite a busy town with lots of traffic, but fantastic restaurants within striking distance of the hotel (an IDR 55k ride) and of course all the town has to offer. The hotel arranged for me to join a local tour group to hike Mount Batur, which was also lovely. Was a very nice touch that they packed me a breakfast for the journey. As a side note, watching the staff come together for their daily meeting (hopefully unobtrusively while I was lounging poolside after I checked out) was special. Their team has something most don’t and it was very clear in their care, attention, camaraderie and personal ownership over the property.

We has a fantastic 10 nights at this hotel with our 2 young children (almost 2 year old and 4 year old). Hotel staff were very attentive, enjoyed interacting with the children and bought milk to our room free of charge for the children as soon as we requested it. The setting is stunning and the breakfast was also nice. Only thing to watch is the cost of some of the services are overpriced at the hotel, laundry can be done at a fraction of the price with a short drive down the road, local taxis are cheaper and more negotiable (rule of thumb half what they say initially and meet in the lower end). On the plus side the hotel does run a free shuttle that is regular (with the exception of when it rains heavily). Overall definitely worth a visit for some relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

Love the hotel except for the room. The pros: 1. Nice surrounding, landscape 2. Staffs are nice and very polite 3. Breakfast is just so so but the fruits were fresh. 4. Tried their restaurant and it was good. The cons: 1. Ants problem even on my bed 2. Not even a table inside the villa (Nakula) room. Just 2 bedside tables that are too small to put anything because of lamp, hotel telephone, phone dock. 3. Rooms are super dark. 4. Rooms are not clean enough. 5. Shower is only from the top (vertical), usually we were given 2 options, the hose shower and the one from the top. Won't be returning.

Excellent resort with rooms and villas catering to different accommodation needs. Located about 2 km from Ubud palace. Stayed in a 1 bedroom villa: facilities are well maintained and functioning well. The best part is the Balinese style of garden arrangement; as if just taken out of one of those books on Balinese gardens. Breakfast has many choices and of good quality. Relatively free of insects and bugs. Great, friendly and quick service. Couple of minor gripes: going to Ubud centre would require taxi service as it is probably too far and inconvenient to walk on the narrow roads. Shuttle service only available 3 times a day, and none after 5 pm. The room can be quite dim, but adds to the romance I supposed.

My husband and I were so excited for our rice field private pool villa stay but were a little disappointed. The outdoor bathroom design made it feel like the place was always dirty and it wasn’t cleaned properly, we were given dirty white towels multiple times. The rooftop is not sealed so it would get hot even with the AC on, insects come into the bedroom easily. There’s so place to sit inside the room, the sofas were outside only. The breakfast options was very limited, but the other restaurants within the hotel were good. The service was a little slow but all the staff are really kind and friendly. There are multiple activities to do inside the hotel which are great. My favorite part was the pool, the size and the color with the view was very relaxing. My husband surprised me with a romantic dinner in the villa and the service was absolutely amazing, although the food wasn’t so good.

We stayed in Desa Visesa in March with our 6 month old baby, and what a stay that was! We spent 2 nights in a one bedroom with private pool and 1 night at a premier suite. We enjoyed both those rooms immensely! Our baby loved the pool! They provided us with a cot for the baby to sleep in as well. Their beautiful outdoor bathtub was also great to bathe the baby. The grounds of the hotel is beautiful. We actually stayed in the hotel for 2 days and only left to eat dinner. There is so much to explore and to enjoy. The staff at this resort are so friendly! Especially to our baby. He had a wonderful time smiling and playing with the staff. We got the shuttle into town a few times. One the way back to the hotel, it can get a bit crowded so try and get there early. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend it to people travelling with young children!

A resort/hotel awakens from its slumber. It seems as if everything here was completely shut down during the Corona period. The employees are trying very hard to put everything back in place. But this will take some time. Some rooms and villas are already available again, the facility itself looks very well maintained again, but there is some improvisation. We enjoyed our stay there. It was very quiet and the staff was very friendly.

A great property , let down due to poor hospitality. On a group holiday, we booked Visesa. The property is amazing, lovely rooms, worth a visit. But what was a big let down for us was the poor hospitality from the kitchen staff. We ordered a cake for a celebration a day in advance and the staff just forgot about it, and instaed give us a dessert from the buffet. Special food requests made in advance were also easily forgotten. Items in the buffet would not be refilled and all we were told is " sold out". Also, very tough for them to even understand vegetarian.

This is really a hidden gem in Ubud. For 10 years I had no idea this was here. You wouldn't know from the entrance on tye road that it is so big when you get inside. It's an amazing, beautiful, expansive hotel, with very fresh air and great service. The restaurant is great also. I will be recommending it to my friends and business partners because it's so good. The location is also perfect. It's in the position that always has the best air quality in Ubud area. A very lucky location to be staying in. Thank you Desa Visesa 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Visesa is a truly special hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights after trying for a while to decide where to stay in Ubud. This hotel is exceptional and the photo’s do not do it justice. If you are looking for an authentic 5 star stay in Bali, it has to be here. The staff are truly exceptional, they went above and beyond for us giving what I would say is probably the best service we have ever had. The grounds are exceptional, it is in a truly unique setting. Really can’t recommend this hotel high enough

This was a stunning property, with the perfect location, and world class customer service. Wow. I am picky when I write reviews, but in this case I wish I could give Desa Visesa Resort 10 stars. Upon arrival, we were immediately given special treatment with a welcome drink and small ceremony to welcome us. The property is fairly large, with a beautiful bridge driveway to enter the space, lots of lush jungle greenery and amazing plants, decorated with traditional Indonesian architecture. It is a very safe area. We took so many photos just at the resort! Our room was very comfortable. Clean is a priority for me when I travel, and the room was spotless - not to mention romantic (perfect for our honeymoon!) Location wise, the resort is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that we could actually put our feet up and totally relax. We had a fantastic spa service (you can get a massage in a cave!!), and the food at both restaurants are excellent. In fact, the fine dining restaurant is some of the best food I've ever had, along with the best cocktails I've ever had. I don't say this lightly; I'm a vegetarian and not easy to please when it comes to food - but this place is tol notch. When we wanted to explore the beautiful little city of Ubud, we were able to take advantage of the free shuttle to drive us only 10-15 minutes to the city center, where we found so much to do; food, shopping, markets, art, temples, you name it. Last but not least, the customer service here is some of the best I've ever encountered. Everyone is deeply kind and genuine. The staff went out of their way to make sure we are happy with our stay. I plan to come back and stay again and bring my whole family because of the wonderful experience I had here. Highly recommend to fellow travelers!

Visesa Resort Ubud Place of relaxation and tranquility. Visesa Resort is destination worth the travel. We stayed in two bedroom villa with private pool. To simply say it was comfortable doesn’t begin to describe the luxury. Staff are all super attentive, friendly and accommodating. Be sure to experience the full body massage spa treatment. Absolutely one of the highlights of our stay. Complimentary shuttle service to Ubud central is limited but if you miss the last pick up, local taxi is readily available. Our stay was super enjoyable and memorable and have no hesitation recommending Visesa Resort as a holiday destination.

The moment we stepped foot at Visesa, we were made to feel at home. The staff was very very accommodating, understanding and always eager to help and make our experience a memorable one. The Room, the Restaurants, the Resort overall had a very positive vibe and an aura that uplifted one’s mood. Loved how the resort blends seamlessly with the natural beauty of Bali. Without a doubt, a very easy choice if you want a relaxing, hassle-free, pleasant and memorable stay at Ubud, Bali.

The service of their staff is exceptionally great. It could not have been any better anywhere else I guess. Our buggy guy Yayo, what a great guy!!! Will definitely be coming back next time for even longer time. Thank you!

I stayed here with my wife, amazing welcome and the room with the pool has such an authentic vibe. Really liked the behaviour of staff, nuri ardi and all orhers. So many options in breakfast to choose from, if you are vegetarian you might end up having only a few options. The massage in the resort is okay, got better massage elsewhere. but if you are looking for a peaceful stay, go for it without a second doubt

I stayed here for 3d3n. Booked a suite. I loved the suite. It was spacious, had a huge balcony, and a sunbed you could sit in all day to read or drink (or both). Also a drying rack, which is super convenient. There was a well-maintained bathtub in the room, complete with a bath caddy and bath salts. The TV didn’t really work but it’s not the end of the world. You’re in Bali. Wish the room was just a bit brighter or had a comfortable reading area. I was a tiny bit disappointed by the fact that the paddyfield and farm activities were closed as a result of Covid. The pool area was also under renovations, so it was hard to get peace and quiet unless you have a tolerance for construction sounds. Nevertheless, the service was excellent. There was a welcome blessing ceremony, which makes you feel like your Bali trip’s really starting. I also ordered GrabFood for dinner there, and the staff was super accommodating by providing me with cutlery. They also provide a complimentary shuttle service to the main Ubud street, starting from 11am and ends at 5pm. If you wanna hit the town outside of those hours, it’s easy to just book a Grab ride. Takes about 20-30mins. The breakfast had a limited buffet spread of salads and pastries, and you can also order either an American or Indonesian breakfast. I tried both. Neither was particularly impressive. The sausages and bacon tasted odd, so I didn’t finish them. The best tasting thing was probably the fruit platter. But what they lack in taste, they make up for in service and a lush view. Would return once the activities are restored, and probably try their villa next.

I recently spent three days at Visesa Ubud Resort and I must say, it was absolutely amazing. The resort boasts a stunningly beautiful yard and gardens, providing a serene and relaxing atmosphere. I particularly loved the various rest areas outside where I could unwind and enjoy the lovely surroundings. The staff at Visesa Ubud Resort were exceptional, always wearing smiles and being incredibly helpful. Their positive demeanor added to the overall positive experience I had during my stay. While the room itself was beautiful, I did find it to be a bit dark with a lack of natural sunlight. Additionally, there was a slight musty smell. However, these minor inconveniences were easily overlooked by the overall comfort and amenities provided. The highlight for me was the pool. It was impeccably clean and well-maintained throughout my stay. I found myself spending many hours enjoying the refreshing water and peaceful ambiance. In conclusion, Visesa Ubud Resort is an incredible place to stay. Despite a few minor inconveniences, the beauty of the resort, the helpfulness of the staff, and the remarkable pool made for a truly memorable holiday. I highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to experience a truly relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
