A beautiful church/monastery overlooking from a high elevation lake Constance. Inside the church the ceilings and walls are very impressive with lots of details. I would have given it 5 stars but I just don't understand why taking photos (no flash) is not premitted. This is ridiculous!

One of the most beautiful baroque churches in Europe. There is a small mirror in the ceiling and when you look up you see what you will look like in heaven!

Very beautiful older church, done in classic cathedral style. Lots of history here dating back hundreds of years. It's worth stopping for the visual effects alone.

Wallfahrtskirche Birnau left me truly impressed. The exterior doesn't prepare you for the breathtaking baroque architecture inside. Every corner reveals new intricate details, from the stunning paintings and sculptures to the remarkable trompe-l'oeil designs on the ceiling. Standing beneath this lavish expression of faith makes you feel small in the most awe-inspiring way. Please note: respect that you can't take photos when inside.

Beautiful stopoff and view over the lake whilst doing a scenic drive. Surprisingly, there are no rubbish bins in the carpark. This could easily be improved. Popular stop for cyclists touring. Toilets behind nearby cafe/shop are PayAsYouGo.

Very good looking monastery. The interiour js colourful and bright. Taking pictures wasn't allowed but if you're sneaky they won't notice.

A very beautiful cathedral. The Baroque style looks great. Paintings, sculptures, stucco. I liked it very much. The bus stop is conveniently located. There is also an observation deck next to the cathedral, where you can admire the panoramic lake. And I really liked the corner of the garden with tables. Very convenient to eat, which we did. I just didn't like the cold toilet. Especially in such damp and rather cool weather. Below, on the shore of the lake is a small castle. But there was no way to see it.

Most beautiful serene place

Exquisite rococo interior, no pictures allowed but a book is available for a modest price. Great scenery on the ride in and out. Wish I could have spent more time in the area.

Amazing! This church is decorated in the most amazing example of rococo style! A must see for those who live cathedrals! Rural setting, facing the lake. We asked, they said we could take 1 or 2 photos as long as we don't use flash or disrupt other visitors.

An absoluely beautiful place. The square in front of the church offers super views onto lake constance and inside you find a baroque perle church.

No photos allowed. It is a lovely church but it is frustrating that they have signs and a Nun there to prevent photographs being taken. At the same time, they have a gift shop at the entry of the church which sells pictures. Hmmm

The church of St. Mary, known as "Basilica Birnau", rises on the northern shore of Lake Constance in the Birnau district of Uhldingen-Mühlhofen. The Roman Catholic Basilica Birnau is one of the most important baroque pilgrimage churches in the region. The view from there is magical and breathtaking. Definitely always worth a visit🌟.

A drive along Lake Obersee at sunset overlooking the Alps wall is priceless. When you stop, you can enjoy the view with the beauty of nature where the church blends in with this landscape.
