Probably the best museum I've ever been to. There was a lot of interesting information, but it didn't consist of purely reading, but had loads of interactive things to do. I feel like a learnt a lot about not just the Afsluitdijk, but also the people of the Netherlands in general. It was truly fascinating, how much thought was put into it all. It wasn't very full and the prices were reasonable. The Café in the building was pleasant and you had a great view of everything around from the panorama roof. Everyone working there spoke good English and all information was available in Dutch, English and German.

If you drive over the Afsluitdijk, you have to stop at this museum, self-service restaurant and sitting on the terrace to watch de Zuiderzee, surroundings and beauty of nature. The museum is free and interactive, the self-service restaurant has a nice menu to choose from and there is ample of free car park. The location offers free WiFi and gives a great historical insight of this marvel been built as well what is to be done in current and future plans. A must to see

A very nice place to visit. Entry is free. Though to get the full experience they advice u to down load an app, which of course, does not work to wel. They should have go for a mobile site as your guide. The app asks for many permissions, a strange concept. In the center however is a great restaurant with very reasonable prices compared top other tourist attractions. A great view, the food is very good. From salads to freshly prepared pizzas plus the breathtaking view

Fascinating stories of the far sighted strategic planning of water and land management of NL. Shows that they are still preparing for rising water levels due to climate change!!! I added this visit after I went to the excellent Canal Museum in Amsterdam.

A brilliant interactive exhibition on the Afsluitdijk. The VR experience was great, and the view would have been good if it wasn't so foggy! Very reasonably priced, and excellent coffee and cake in the café too.

The museum is super worth it! 5€ per person and you can spend such a good time learning the history of the Afsluitdijk. The museum also has a restaurant.

Modern and up-to-date museum about the battle of the Dutch against the water. Even ongoing projects on the development of new islands are explained. Lots of things to do for kids as well. Great views over the lake. Plenty of parking space, and really quiet on a Sunday (late morning and early afternoon). Food (lunch) is simple but good. Certainly worth a visit.

Modern building near NE end of the sea barrier. Aims to explain why it was built and the valuable natural area Waddenzee to the N. Started with an atmospheric three screen video of rising wind. unfortunately the middle projector was not aligned, spoiling the effect. Numerous child friendly exhibition pieces, many interactive. Great view from the rooftop.

The visitor centre was a nice surprise. It's 5 euro entry with a free audio tour to guide you around. A little bit of history mixed with lots interactive and modern exhibits to tell the impressive story of the dike. Easy to spend 1 hour here.

Not worth visiting if you don't have kids since the exhibition is manly aimed at them. The entrance for adults is 5€.
