Walking between native flowers shrubs and trees, this city park is like a small oasis situated between the old part of Amstelveen and the "Amsterdamse bos". The Thijssepark is not large but large enough for a lunchbreak walk. At the moment, the place is filled with flowers and getting greener everyday. Please remember that dogs and bicycles are not allowed to enter the park. Both are more than welcome in the adjacent "Amsterdamse bos" where you can find many bicycle paths and large grassy fields where dogs can roam freely.

Many different species of beautiful flora, made possible by upkeep of foresters. Careful when walking off the path; the 'land' you see is floating dead plant matter, on top of which more plants have grown. ie, if you get too close to the edge, you can fall through. If you jump up and down you can feel the ground moving with you. Very special pretty landscape 10/10 would visit again

The Dr. J. P. Thijssenpark is my favourite local park in Amstelveen and an absolute must visit in spring when the anemones are flowering but a joy at any time of the year. Good place to spot squirrels, different types of birds, lots of different plants. Dogs and bikes are not welcome.

One of the most beautiful parks of Amstelveen with loads of different plants and a birds of all sorts. Several pads leads you every time to a part you haven’t seen yet. It’s a little fairy tale πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€—

This place is beautiful, a nice step away from the business of Central. Peaceful and lots of cool birds

Heemtuin Dr. J. P. Thijssepark is a beautiful, hidden treasure of Amsterveen, a unique garden with original landscapes. Amongst the protected plants in this garden are several species of orchids. Highly recommended for a visit.

Amazing park. Like a fairy tale from spring to fall, and when it snows even in winter.
