A nice Japanese restaurant and cost US$40 so good and fair

Everything was fantastic!!! We visited many nice restaurants in Kyoto, but this place was the best for me.

A perfect place for kaiseki set. Everything is good in quality and price is acceptable. Staffs can speak english well.

We order the set meal, the sashi was extremely hard to bite because the fish part contain the tendon, very bad quality. It was very bad to experience the meals here. Not recommended.

If you come to Kyoto at the first time and you never try Kaiseki cuisine before, Chikurin will be good place to have it. They serve different price of chef's tasting meals and independent room for each guest enjoy the meal. You have to make the reservation if you wanna eat here. Each course is so delicate and too beautiful that you will take the photo before eating. And each dish has various flavors and elegant. The waitress did the great service, she will demonstrate what the food made from and which food has to be eaten first. Definitely the gourmet feast.

Unique experience. If you want to try the traditional kaiseki dinner at a reasonable price please visit during lunchtime. Make a reservation since it gets really busy here. Beautifully presented, well balanced meal that feels not too heavy. Not to mention if you reserve as a group early enough you can get seated with a beautiful river view.

Amazing food, service and experience

My first time in Uji and I was with my parents and my husband. I booked for Kaiseki set meal at lunch time and it was wonderful experience. I love how the food was presented, the staff were friendly and attentive. The staff wear Kimono and they are beautiful. It’s authentic and you could feel comfortable in the dining room with tatami floor. We got a private dining room for four people. I love the food, but the highlights were Tempura, sashimi, Matcha salt and the Matcha tofu. Excellent dining experience!

Our group of six had a very nice experience here. Classic kaiseki was presented in an elegant relaxed space by a friendly staff and talented chef.
