Great hostel for hanging out and meeting people. Although we didn't do a tour organised by them we met many people who did and everyone had a great experience. We met some of their tours out on the road and their guides were always friendly and helpful even when we weren't their responsibility!

I would give 0 star if there was any. The worst customer service ever. Who hangs up the phone while talking? Tried calling them thousand times, but right after picking up the phone the guy kept hanging up on me. I guess my mistake was to check in which branch a client I am supposed to pick up is staying. Apparently they have two branches and I asked for the other branch's phone number. What did I get? Nothing but a hang up. Dear travelers, Be careful when choosing this place. When your tour guide needs to pick you up, they might not be telling which branch you are staying in. So you have to know the exact address/ branch and give it to your tour agency/guide by yourself. Otherwise, there might be some conflicts or your guide might be late.

We booked a 7 day Gobi Tour with Sunpath, and stayed in the hostel the night before and two after the tour. The hostel Isherwood nice, familiar and clean. There are a lot of nice people taking care of the rooms and help you with laundry. We were also picked up from the train station for free. The tour itself was amazing, we had nice tourguides who spend their time with us also in the evening and answered a lot of our questions about Mongolia. We had a group of 13 people and were lucky to meet all this nationalities and nice people! The rides with the bus were very long on bumpy roads, but definitely worth the views you get after the rides. We slept in gers of real nomadic family's and felt really welcome. It was very touching to get to know there culture, traditions and everyday life. Doljmaa was very helpful and friendly all the time, organizing taxis after the trip and taking care. Highly recommend if you want to experience the real Mongolia and don't be afraid of the simple life with no shower and bathroom or paved roads;-)

Nice hostel, hot showers, clean toilets, good location on the city center. The tours they offer are definitely not overpriced, you can choose vegetarian food if you like and the tours are also very flexible. I enjoyed it a lot, specially with our great tour guide Vampy. Would go there again!

Don't let the run down exterior of the building fool you. This hostel was well maintained and regularly cleaned. We also really enjoyed our desert tour with them. Would highly recommend

Positives Overall great stay, good price for 6-day Gobi, hostel sparkling clean, attentious staff and knowledgeable/friendly guide and driver. Guide was also a very good cook, you dont need to worry about bringing too many snacks if Dashka is around. Negatives Very low quality breakfast in the hostel. Tour to Gobi: The russian style truck was breaking down everyday - it needs a serious re-fix or just get a new one. Poor driver was night and day trying to fix that thing. If it wasnt for his great mechanical skills, that truck would be dead ages ago. A lot of driving in the 6-day Gobi trip, most of the days more driving than actual activities, probably could do with a bit of re-planning. Manager a bit inflexible to our tour needs (better in other hostels). Example: After 6 day gobi trip there was no wanting to do more nomadic ger sleeping and we just wanted a horse ride day in terelj or somewhere else. This seemed very difficult as the manager kept offering 3-day, 4-day trips. However, can't give a negative review after all the amazing things that were learnt, seen, done and eaten.

My standards arent the highest, but a warm shower is part of the basics, after 9 days we came back from our tour (also from sunpath, which was great - the best guide: so helpful and flexible) and it still wasn't fixed. Apparently they have a hotel and a hostel - be careful, we ended up in the hotel by accident. But the came to pick us up, which was nice. Breakfast is only bread jam and butter - anything else you'll have to buy yourself. The lady owning the hostel - Dolcema - is great and very helpful and friendly, just like her personnel. Personally I would try another hostel when I'd come to UB again. The tour we took was the best. Though sometimes not the most comfortable; this is to be expected from a tour to nomads in the desert. Oftentimes you just do your number 2 in a hole in the ground with a small wooden toilet built around it. The guide and driver were the best. funny and helpful, even if it wasn't in their direct best interest. Vampi (our guide) helped me with motorcycle tour that I'd do a couple of days later and she helped someone on his way very well that got off our tour the day before it ended, to go fishing (also non-sunpath-related)

Absolutely awesome for backpacking.. 100% recommended.. Driver, cook, travel guide 24/7 will look after your wellbeing.. But don't expect to get 5stars ger and toilets.. Food was awesome if you are not picky.. The cook will try their very best to make meals near to your taste buds. My trip was on 27/07/19 till 02/08/19..travel guide:Miga, Cook:Agi, Driver:Mandakh

👍👍 I recently stayed here for four nights and I must say that it was a very clean place, with excellent security and a very helpful and friendly staff. The location is in downtown Ulaanbaatar, within a short walking distance to the main post office and the Chingiss Square monument. I would strongly rec...
