This is cafe literally making some of the best food anywhere. Try the Terminator - enough said! Such lovely people with an owner totally dedicated to providing the very best food and service. UPDATE: Yet to be officially launched, their new burgers are crazy good. Exceptional food from a modest cafe. A treat indeed.

Our new food spot!! The food that arrived at our table was absolutely to die for, the chips were extra crunchy, super fresh mozzarella and the iced coffees were so so so good. The special ‘Manu Chap’ is so delicious, as well as the mozza, tom and pesto ciabatta. the drinks were super cold and the service was amazing. the owner even upgraded us to large for free. this place is amazing.

Glad to have discovered this spot for tasty, grilled fare & caring, laidback ambience! A breakfast hotspot on weekends - a favourite was the Light English breakfast (eggs, grilled bacon, baked beans) W/grilled Chibatta or one of the breakfast baps. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options if you need, but some good-looking meat burgers too. Thanks Clyde & Francesco! You made these Canadians feel totally at home! 🇨🇦👏🏻

Return customer here, the Lucky Strike burger is legitimately the best burger in Brighton and I've been actively searching! Very generously sized burger with beautiful beef patty and bacon, an unexpectedly perfectly complimentary massive chunky slice of avocado and lovely seasoning with chilli flakes- this burger is gorgeous. Will definitely be coming again, big fat burger with chips and a milkshake for a very reasonable price, great atmosphere, clean and comfortable and Clydee is friendly and welcoming. 10/10!!

Clydees is such a warm & welcoming local place! Fantastic thoughtfully crafted menu by skilled main man Clydee & wonderfully imaginative cocktails 😍 (I recently had the pleasure of sampling a BISCOFF cocktail and it was OUT of this worrrld!) With so many big chains now occupying saint James street, it’s so lovely to come to a small biz that feels like home for everyone in our community ❤️🫶🏻👌🏻 10/10 x

Amazing place just around the corner of our guest house. The staff is super friendly and personable. The burgers are just amazing. You can get an extra pad for 4£ which makes it the best burger. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much!

Found this place by accident while walking in the rain super-hungry after our 4.5 hours BHF London Brighton bike ride. Burgers were absolute delish. Chips were perfect. Portions were huge (please see my picture; perfect combo) The service was also excellent.

My group and I walked into this restaurant around noon. We just flew in and this was the first restaurant we stopped at, and I cannot overstate how satisfying the breakfast they served was (lower right)! And at a perfectly reasonable price! Made my fiancé’s day and I felt full for hours, all the more complimented by the wonderful staff. We just decided to make it not only the first but also the last place we visit in Brighton before leaving, it’s really that good!

The BEST burger I’ve ever had. Honestly completely blown away at the taste and how perfectly cooked it was.

Ehat a gem of a place. Great food, quick service, VERY friendly proprietor. Good vegan and veggie options. Found the seating a little uncomfortable but that is my only criticism 😔

We visited yesterday and really enjoyed the sandwiches we bought to takeaway. The melon smoothie and oreo shake were also good. The service was fast and staff were very nice. Would like to try the rest of the menu!

Great little shop the food you can actually taste. our beans were slightly cold but when we ask they quickly got us fresh hot ones, service is great and they are very friendly, I'm glad they don't charge you extra for things like butter and sauces unlike some places near by

Tremendous little place! Stumbled across this place looking for a table for 6. Clyde the owner is a fantastic host, great service and fantastic food. The burgers where beyond tasty, fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced and whole the whole menu isn't huge you will not be disappointed. Wonderful little gem of a place. We will be making this our regular spot every time we come back to Brighton.

10/10 Small place with the biggest heart. Too good not to review. Do yourself a favour and pay these guys a visit, everything about our experience was perfect. I had the meanest looking vegan burger I've ever had with a side of what I can only describe as perfection in the form of chips. It was everything I could've hoped for and more. Clydee and Francesco made us feel so welcome, they represent everything that's great about a small business and Brighton itself. Within minutes of being there and after chatting with Clydee, we knew it was a special place. These guys seem like a genuine part of the community and you get the sense that their hearts are in the right place. Banging food in proper portion sizes and service as good as it gets. We will go out of our way to visit next time. Thank you boys 👌

First time I have been to Clydee’s I was wondering around Brighton and was hungry for some breakfast and found this Gem of the Place. The staff was really friendly to me and had good quick service and even had good quality food and coffee. If you need some food 100% check out this place lots of other items to offer.

The food is amazing, definitely the best burger that I had in Brighton so far. The staff are super friendly and the beers really cold. Happy to live closer.

on a trip to brighton my family and me wanted to have a real english breakfast and we were more than satisfied to the point of going back until we left the city. the food is very good and qualitative as well as its presentation, moreover the service is fast and the music very cool. we had a warm welcome with an extremely nice smiling owner who puts us directly at ease and who is also open to discussion. fav place of brighton go there (better than macdo believe me)

Super friendly and chilled cafe. Very kind owner let me stay for an hour for a work meeting when I had to check out of a hotel early, amazing breakfast and great coffee. Good wifi too.

our first time at Clydees , and omg this place has everything that sums up the hospitality by all means, brilliant food , amazing costumer service, fair price. and lovely music. i love the street too. 10 stars, five is not enough
