One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever had in Birmingham. A hearty meal with mutton devil which is with fried mutton pieces mixing with a special Sri Lankan sauce ! Flavoursome and spicy. Out of my expectation actually.. Prawn Moilee is a mild curry filling with that coconut vibe. It goes really well with prawn and rice for sure 😆 Mango lassi is not common now in many Indian restaurants and this one is real authentic 😛 Owner is really friendly and the restaurant is located in a kinda quiet area, like a hidden gem 💎 definitely gonna revisit again! 👍😉

Second visit to this place and again it was amazing food! I had the Chicken 65, Kanava devil, Paneer masala dosa, Mango lassi, Chettinandu aattu kulambu and Pulao rice all excellent flavours well seasoned and spicy however they can adjust to suit taste, tasted home cooked and very fresh, the owner was so friendly and for a new place i really can't rate this place highly enough! So hard with how things are at the moment for independent businesses , and to have a gem like this nearby is the best, in particular i love the sri lankan devilled dishes, and the dosa are the best 👌, also rare to find a place that does lassi! Will definitely be coming back to this place, love supporting local businesses and I wish every luck to this place!

One of the best authentic south Indian restaurant in the West Midlands. Tried Masala Dosa, Chicken Manchurian, Chicken Biryani, Filter coffee and a complimentary serving of pineapple sheera. All dishes were as authentic as you can get in the UK. Have tried other places like Chennai Dosa, Vaibhavam, Ruchie, none of these places comes close to this place. Service was exemplary too. Definitely visiting again

We tried dine in as well as takeaway. Both the times food was so tasty, quantity was generous and service was excellent. We tried veg fried rice recommended by a friend and we loved it. Gobi Manchurian is our favourite, paneer paratha was very delicious. It is one of the best Indian restaurants in West Midlands and I would highly recommend visiting Mugil restaurant. The price is also very affordable for the quantity they serve. Looking forward to visit them again 😊 Also it is one of the few places where parking is easily available.

Best food in town. Everything is on spot and the chef is so generous and kind hearted man.Complimentary Pineapple sheera was cherry on top. Definitively going again!

Genuine South Indian restaurant with awesome folks running it. The food is tasty and made to specification requested (less spicy in our case).. Must try once and you will definitely visit another time. The items on menu is a good list and you can still request things that you may fancy and they will try their best to make sure you leave tummy full. Loved it..

I catered from Mugil for an event of 35 people. I ordered Indo-Chinese food. Food was prepared on time & we had to collect the food. They helped load the car & the food was nicely wrapped in cling film to avoid spillage and we were provided with chafing dishes with the fuel burner & a lighter which was a very nice touch as the food stayed warm. The food itself was excellent and had excellent feedback from all the guests as well. The quantity was adequate. The only negative thing I would say is that I would have preferred delivery of the food as we had to come out to collect the food in the middle of the event. However, that would not stop me from ordering again. I would happily recommend Mugil.

Absolutely delighted to have found this gem of a place! Delicious South Indian food with a variety to offer on the menu. The chef was very attentive to our needs. Food was very tasty and we will definitely be visiting regularly.

Awesome foods with large portion and the price is not high that too worth to try. My auntie can not have too spicy food and they offer mildly spicy ones which is very thoughtful. We were satisfied with the good service, definitely we will come back again.

Had a fantastic meal here, myself, my husband and our 3 year old. The owner was lovely and helped us pick off the menu. The food was absolutely beautiful and plenty of it too! Was really reasonable price wise and we will definitely be back soon.

Good place for South Indian dishes..Had Parottas, chettinad chicken and chicken Biryani.. Good that Parottas were larger in size than expected. Biryani was mild and meeting expectations..They prefer cash, but card payments were also accepted.. Good parking space available in the nearby.

Recently, I have ordered Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes especially for my relatives who came from India. My relatives were very pleasant with the quantity, quality and taste of the curries. Also price is very nominal for the quantity they served. They also wondered about the freshness, homemade aroma and texture produced by Mugil. We usually found many restaurants add sweetness to the curries, but Mugil made impressive authenticated perfect spicy curries requested and made the food in Desi style. I also appreciate for the efforts made by Mugil even though I made the request in the last minute. We are impressed about the quality and taste of the food and we certainly recommends everyone to try who enjoys Indian food. Well-done Mugil.

Amazing food! It felt like I was eating at the restaurant owners' home. They are very welcoming and sweet. The food was delicious. I would recommend getting any of their dosas and ask for the red chutney. It's so good! Even the Chicken Manchurian was very good. I'd definitely come back here whenever I am in Birmingham, it's a must visit for anyone looking for good Indian food. P.S. The restaurant is named after their younger son who is a bundle of joy! 😄

The food here is really good, flavours are amazing, portion sizes are good. We had three starters and were full before the main course. The food presentation is first class and it’s cooked fresh. You will not see the standard Indian dishes on the menu and vegetarians have a wide selection of dishes. We came here by chance but certainly will be back. So looking at the photos on the review I was not impressed, but as it had high ratings I thought give it a try. The location of the restaurant is in a residential location and its presentation in the parade looks like a takeaway - which is also is. However it’s a hidden gem.

I got Mugil Restaurant to cater to for a religious event at home spanning 2 days. Across the 2 days, we had over 80 people attending the event. The whole menu was a typical South Indian Vegetarian Menu, with not Garlic being used. The food was very tasty, more than sufficient quantity and most importantly was tasting like home cooked food. All the guests were super impressed with the food and took Mugil's contacts for their use in future. I am very happy with the service, food and the price. I will definitely use the services of Mugil Restaurant in future.

Authentic taste, good ingredients, bang for the buck makes Mugil a must try restaurant. We have been there more than once and I think you should go and make up your own mind. It's a diner style restaurant, essentials but food is neat and you get what you are promised - an appetite quenched with some authentic dishes.

I came for New year party to my friends place, they took me here for dinner. After long time i felt like food in home. Every dishes taste too good and very fresh as well. Service and ambience is good too. I can suggest this restaurant to anyone coz i believe it would disappoint anyones tastebud.
