Fresh fried chicken that’s prepared when you order it. On the menu it says the wait time is 20 minutes as it’s made to order. It’s definitely worst the wait. The seasoning used is really good, just a little on the salty side. The potato salad is one of the best I’ve ever had. The biscuit that comes with it is a better version of Popeyes. When dining in I topped my chicken with the syrup which drastically changed the flavour. It cut the saltiness of the chicken and gave it the perfect sweetness that I love with my chicken and waffles. The alligator was good but salty. The red bean gumbo was delicious. The world famous Bloody Mary is the closest thing that I had to a Caesar. (Us Canadian folk love Caesar’s). It was very filling and could be a meal on its own. I loved this place. The server was such a nice guy and chatted with us for a while. Highly recommend coming here.

When searching for breakfast in New Orleans as well as driving around the city, I saw several Daisy Mae’s and that they all had great reviews. It was then just a matter of when to visit- and there happened to be one literally around the corner from my hotel- how about that! Walking in, you just feel that you are in the heart of New Orleans. Even if you didn’t know what city you were in, I think the decoration and setup of Daisy Mae’s would be a dead giveaway. Paintings of jazz line the walls, and Saints decor hangs around the rest. But all this to say, the food ultimately really let me down. I wouldn’t say I’m picky or have superficial taste, but there was just nothing exceedingly special about anything we tried. The omelet was okay, but it’s something I could’ve made at home, and maybe even better. The pancake was good, but it’s pretty hard to mess a pancake up- and it still wasn’t memorable. One thing that was pretty decent were the pork chops, randomly enough. Other than that, I’m more than happy to forget trying this place. Especially in a city like New Orleans, there are a million and one places to eat, which means at least half that have to be better than this place, if Daisy Mae’s is middle of the road good like I believe. So I probably wouldn’t come back. If you do still want to give this place a try, get here early or get ready to wait. We came around 7, 7:30am right when it opened and it was a ghost town. But by the time we were leaving almost every table was already filled with more coming. It gets busy!

I had lunch with my partner here while attending a conference at a nearby hotel. I ordered the alligator sausage omelette and added a side fried chicken thigh. My partner did the two piece combo with a leg and a thigh. We also ordered a small gumbo and a small red beans and rice. I thought everything was perfectly made, full of flavor, and generous in portion size. The crispy fried chicken skin on the thigh was delightful. My partner got a bottomless Bloody Mary, which was tasty (she did one in house and took one to go). Prices are really fair. Laila was our server. She said she's new, but she did great to take care of us and make our experience pleasant. Definitely would go back.

Daisy Mae’s was AWESOME!! Great fried chicken with a little Cajun seasoning and the waffles were so yummy!! Busy place, be prepared to wait a few minutes, but it’s totally worth the wait! Tess was our server and she was very friendly and helpful! True southern hospitality and charm!

The food is amazing!!!!! I'm submitting a 3 star review because the restaurant is card only and charged a credit card use fee of 3%. This is not okay if your restaurant does not offer cash payments. This was also not stated before we ordered. The policy about no split checks was posted in multiple areas of the restaurant in plain view and therefore the credit card only and applicable fees should also be prominently displayed.

My first time coming to NOLA and I can already tell this is a staple in the area. The service was prompt and very warming. Our server Cathleen was very knowledgeable, super friendly and gave us a few places to check out while on our trip. The food was flavorful. I tried alligator sausage for the first time and it was delicious. I’ve worked in the food industry for many years so I’m pretty good on picking up the atmosphere where I am. Our server Cathleen was a breath of fresh air. We loved her service so much we came back the next day for breakfast again. This time we sat at the bar and got a more sociable experience learning more about NOLA. Please stop by this location to get a taste of the food that NOLA has to offer. On our second time coming in I tried the crab cakes and gumbo. They are both a different take on the traditional and were both very delicious & packed with flavor. Wash it all down with a beautifully crafted cocktail like the Hurricane; you can’t go wrong with the strongest drink on the menu

Pretty decent breakfast. Ample portions. It wasn't busy, which was nice on a Saturday morning. A tad pricey but not too bad. Friendly service. Mae's waffle breakfast sandwich was really good.Definitely worth trying if you like traditional southern breakfast with a few cajun flare twists.

Stopped by for a late lunch and was not disappointed. Place was slow around 2pm on a Thursday. Looked like they had a busy lunch hour though from food that hadn’t been swept up from the floor yet. Also, AC wasn’t set too cool so it was a bit warm. I’m not a huge fan of fried chicken but Mae’s breakfast sandwich was incredible! The chicken was juicy and tender. The breading wasn’t too think but has great flavor. The waffle was crispy and fresh. It was served with country gravy, which I through was weird but I put some on the sand which and really enjoyed it. The gravy was thick and peppery. I couldn’t quite finish the sandwich but opted to eat the last of the fried chicken. The alligator po’boy was also good, tons of flavor and a little kick. The gumbo had some spice too but with it being such a hot day, it wasn’t quite hitting the spot.

Heard about daisy dukes and tried them out, heard about Daisy Mae's and was crazy full when leaving. The food was good the service was good but I just hated I was leaving that same morning because I would have had a great lunch for leftover chicken and waffles. Very impressed with the food menu and don't think you can go wrong with anything you choose.

Wendy is such a warm, comforting, and amazing waitress! Such a great spirit that just makes you want to eat here as often as possible! And the food, absolutely amazing. Good grief!!!! Chicken was juicy and we'll cooked. Waffle is delicious??! Honestly, if the food was just okay, Wendy would make us still come back because because customer service matters. But since the food was incredible, we WILL eat here every time we were in NOLA!

My wife had an appt. In NOLA, so I went and had breakfast and a bloody. Goodness gracious, the portions are insane. I could barely eat half. Great service, great prices and fantastic food. I accidentally found a gem, and I will go back anytime we hit NOLA UP!

I ordered the three piece chicken meal with onion rings. I am not usually a fried chicken fan, but the waiter mentioned that’s what the restaurant is known for. I was so pleasantly surprised when the food arrived. I doused the chicken with Louisiana hot sauce and downed the chicken as if I hadn’t eaten in days. It was some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten in my life. There wasn’t a speck of food left on my plate, it was that good. The ambiance isn’t much and the service was just okay. The food is 🔥 though and you won’t regret giving this place a try.

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. Our server Shaira was amazing, sweet and you can tell making her customers happy is her main priority. Food was spot on 10/10. Thank you so much, we are definitely coming back.

It's nothing fancy, just solid, quality food at a good price. The menu has some variety, but it's more about brunch staples than anything else. You really can't go wrong here. I'm not a bloody Mary person, but they have bottomless ones with the purchase of an entree. I went with the Cajun omelet, which was great. I asked to substitute one ingredient for another, which Ruby (my server) did without charging me for the extra ingredient, which I really appreciated. She was friendly and on top of getting me refills. Definitely a great place to go for a quick meal, be it in a group or by yourself.

We picked this place for breakfast based on the reviews and our hotel being close. This is a popular breakfast spot. It was crowed but not overwhelming when we visited and ordered our takeout. They specialize in breakfast items and fried chicken. They serve breakfast, lunch, during the week 7am to 3pm and dinner on Saturday and Sunday as they close at 10pm. We picked the chicken and waffles with grits. The chicken was spicy and crispy - the waffle was light and fluffy. Both are very filling. The grits are very bland and runny - definitely had better. Overall, okay. The prices were reasonable and competitive for NOLA. I visited New Orleans once again and had to return to Daisy Mae's. The place never disappoints, and the food is always good. This time, we got Omelets Seafood Omelet that had shrimp, crawfish, tomatoes, mushrooms, sharp cheese, and added onions. The build your own omelet that had spinach, shrimp, sausage, tomatoes, and cheese. The sides included were hashbrowns, cheesy grits, and toast. Everything was Delicious 😋.

This is our second time trying this place, and it was still so impressive!!! The first time we ordered for take out. The food was good even if it was not as warm. But this time was just incredible!!! We ordered chicken and waffle, crab cake Benedict(only available before 2:00 and can’t take out,) and shrimp po-boy. The Crab cake Benedict was the best that I have ever had!!! So glad that we decided to visit again.

First time in The Big Easy and this was by far the best Chicken and waffles I have ever had!! My husband and I really enjoyed it!!! The chicken was seasoned to perfection and let me tell you about the chicken breast!! I don't eat white meat but this is the juiciest chicken I have ever had!!! Such a great spot to eat with your family. We also had Samosas and they were good. Great staff, clean building we will definitely come back on the next trip!!

Bottomless bloody mary's, chicken, waffles, chicken and waffles....yeah, you right! We went to daisy dukes and service/menu was mehhh. Daisy Maes however is a world better. Our food was perfect and sooo fast. Bloody mary was not spicy but flavorable, and our server, Beyez, treated us like we were a guest in her house. I recommend a Bloody Mary, Mae Breakfast sandwich, and if on vacation add a drumstick a la carte. Doing the green shot for breakfast is petfectly acceptable if you and the gang are ready to own this city even at breakfast.

I got the Daisey breakfast sandwich which was fantastic. I was so pumped about everything I totally forgot to put any syrup on it and never skipped a beat. The chicken breading was nice and spicy and everything went great with the gravy which was pretty standard. The price was good for how much food you get.

Delicious food! Good fried chicken (warning: a little bit spicy!) Pretty good Bloody Mary (bottomless for $12!) :-). Bahama mama was tasty. All day breakfast, brunch and dinner type options. Good portions. It's first come first serve so you walk in and stand online and they ask how many and fill the tables as they come. You can also order to-go or walk in and order on a self serve kiosk to-go. They also have most everything a la carte if you're interested in making your own combo. Service was friendly and fast. There are tables and booths to make more room or you can sit at their bar. If I'm ever in the area I will def be back!

Worth Trying. A quick bite, fast service, generous portions. Chicken has great flavours, quite peppery, crispy batter and very juicy. Large pieces if you choose white meat. Fries are meh, biscuit is light well seasoned and chicken is very tasty. Decent value if the fries were actually crispy, except they're not, and have no seasoning/flavour.

This was definitely not the best chicken and waffles that I’ve had. The chicken was minimally seasoned. The waffles was good. The syrup was thin and you had to use a lot to even taste it. I would not recommend this dish but perhaps other dishes are better. Staff was friendly.

Their fried chicken is the BEST both my husband and I have ever had (and between us we’ve had fried chicken in a lot of countries and states). The chicken was moist, not too salty, spicy or crunchy. Just a thin crispy outer layer with a bit of a Cajun kick. Unfussy and delicious.

Went here for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. The waitstaff were able to accommodate me quickly. I ordered a few a la carte items. Hash browns, grits & alligator sausage. Hash browns and grits were good. The alligator sausage was amazing. It was my first time ever eating alligator. I wouldn’t have even thought it was different then chicken. You could tell the sausage was fresh by the taste and casing. It had the perfect amount of spice. I highly recommend everyone to try the alligator sausage.

The fried chicken was delicious. Some of the best I've ever had. It was not overly seasoned and had just enough crunch on the outside while being tender and juicy on the inside. The waffle was good. The biscuit and sausage gravy tasted bland and blah. The service was excellent. Will definitely come back.

Food was great! I got the crab cake eggs Benedict on a biscuit. He got chicken and pancakes. Both were on point. The hash browns were shredded potatoes. I think I should have gotten the grits. Leslie was our server and she was attentive, nice and quick.

Wow! What an experience. Thank you to our waiter Walter. He was such a great waiter and extremely attentive. The food had so much flavor!!! 😋. All the employees that walked by made it their goal to check in to see how everything was. Indeed it was delicious and we will be back to visit on our next trip to New Orleans. I highly recommend you stop in for some yummy food.

Daisy Maes was amazing from the time we walked in to the time we left. We came with a party of eight and we did not to wait as they accommodated our party with reassurance we would receive the same service. Our server was attentive and understanding. The food was on point! The atmosphere was nice, and I especially enjoyed the local art.

When we walked in, we were surprised that they were not checking for vaccination records. I thought that was the new rule for dining in which started the day before. Even saw the posted notice in the restaurant around the corner. If you wanted a heavily battered fried chicken, this is a place for you. The chicken is very similar with Willy Maes chicken. If you want light batter, try Gus chicken. Batter on the chicken was on the salty side. Our server Rebecca was great. She knows what to bring to the table before we asked for it. I would give her a 5 star. We ordered the Chicken and waffles and a Cajun omelet. The chicken and waffles was good but the omelet was ordinary. Omelet in IHOP was better. Nothing to brag about. Coffee was bitter and probably not fresh. The restaurant was empty at 10:30 AM. One of the server yawned very loud while sitting in the bar. I think this is unprofessional. Must be bored with her job.

I had an incredible experience at this place! The pancakes were absolutely phenomenal – fluffy, delicious, and cooked to perfection. But what truly made the visit outstanding was the exceptional service from our waiter, Walter. He was incredibly courteous and attentive throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed. His friendly demeanor and attentiveness truly enhanced our breakfast experience. I would highly recommend this place for both the amazing food and the fantastic service provided by Walter

No frills diner atmosphere with delicious eats. You can tell this place is loved by locals. Mario took care of me at the bar and kept the Bloody Mary’s flowing. The chicken and waffles were great, but come hungry— the portions are big. So glad I stumbled upon this place on my trip.

The food was good. I had chicken and waffles. My daughter ordered the po boy with shrimp and gumbo. The chicken crust was crispy and very well flavored. The breast itself was a little on the dry side and would have benefited from a marinade. The Belgian waffles were good, not spectacular. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired. Our server seemed as though there were other places he'd rather be, which didn't make for a welcoming experience.

We’re visiting and found this place on a delivery app. The food was decent. The fried chicken was really crispy. It didn’t seem fresh but since it was delivered we were forgiving. Some of us ordered breakfast items which were okay.

Immediately seated and was pretty laid back which we liked. Chicken and waffles was so good and my pancakes were delish. Server Wendy is a gem! And she wasn't even our server. But we noticed her warm service at her tables. She's a sweetheart. Our server Rebecca was nice as well.

I got chicken and waffles for breakfast and it was sooo good. The chicken was spiced just the way I like it but it took so long for our food to get to us. It’s a really busy place so I can’t really blame the waiters but the food is worth it. You can order online and come pick up or you can come there order and wait for your pickup on the side. It looks to be a neighbourhood favourite as the place was flooded.

My family visited Daisy Mae's during our July vacation to NOLA. The food was delicious and made fresh. I got the chicken and waffles. I can honestly say it was one of the best waffles I've ever had. Fluffy inside, lightly crisped outside, and sweet. The chicken was also delicious; hot and well seasoned. Prices are reasonable, and portion sizes are more than worth the price. The service was great. Our server Mario was friendly, attentive, and helpful in providing menu recommendations. He made our first experience so nice that we came back for breakfast again the next day! Highly recommend.

I ordered BYO Omelette with shrimp. It was probably the worst meal I’ve had in New Orleans. I should have ordered chicken. The grits were also too runny and bland for my liking. The coffee was cold and the service wasn’t the best. I sat at the bar. But no one asked me if I needed anything. Just took my order brought the food and gave me the check. I spent about $21

  • 4/5 Courtney C. 1 year ago on Google
Vibe- This is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. There’s a lot of tables but it seems that they stay pretty busy so be prepared for a possible wait. Customer service- Amazing! Wendy was very attentive and helpful. Food/drinks- I got a waffle, grits, and hash brown. It was all good (nothing super amazing, but good) and satisfying. I would love to see vegan friendly options on their menu :) Parking- There’s street parking. If you can, walking is probably easier.

You can tell this chicken was seasoned/brined/ marinated whatever you call it for a while because it was sooo flavorful & juicy! Im that person who only adds condiments (like ketchup, ranch, etc) to chicken when its not seasoned well. NO CONDIMENTS NEEDED

Absolutely dissapointing. I ordered the blackened redfish because I never had it and I was tired of seeing catfish on every menu. They had a limited menu also for essence festival. The fish was dry and overdone but I ate it because I was hungry and it did taste good. The shrimp rice tasted like rice a roni so I ate the two shrimp and left the rice. The potato salad looked so pretty and delicious but was a pile of salt with hardly any flavor. I left that, so my meal was a bust. My party had other dishes, I will post the pics. They said it tasted good, but it fid nothing for them. Maybe we hot the B team for essence. Service was excellent, ambiance was good, bathrooms clean. I tipped well despite my overwhelming disappointment. Other items that we tried crabcake with crayfish remoulade, very good, but average if your from the eastern shore. Sautéed gulf crabs, small, (but a lot and pre shelled) flavor looked like it was hoping to pop, but it did not. We also had a shrimp poboy, catfish with seafood linguine
