If you’re Chinese or Cantonese you’d know why I rated this low. The service was good but the food really failed as a Cantonese restaurant. We didn’t get the fried rice or noodles so this review may not help you as much. dim sum- seafood dumpling. The warp was thick and the stuffing was plain. There were 4 pieces but I hardly can finish one. (Btw, if you want to know if a Cantonese restaurant is good, steamed shrimp/seafood dumpling is the testing gold.) stir-fry water spinach. The dish looked fine in the picture but my friend and I found yellow leaves and rotten water spinach leaves in it. It seemed to me they didn’t clean or pick the veggies as they should. Braised pork with preserved vegetables. There were only 7 pieces of pork and little preserved vegetables. I only cooked this dish twice at home so expected the restaurant to do better than me at least. So it definitely failed- too sweet and the meat was too dry. It was not an easy dish for ordinary people but shouldn’t be for the restaurant. Steamed flounder. Over cooked and not cleaned enough. Steaming is the best way to eat good seafood as I think. The fish was not tender nor freshly sweet(as the meat sweet not added sugar). Also they didn’t clean some intestine part of the fish, parts of the fish tasted bitter. Sigh... I really hoped they at least got one dish well and right. So, me, never going back but you can make your decision.

Wanted to introduce ABC Cafe to a friend so we stopped by for lunch. Small restaurant and it’s always so busy. We were told that the wait will take about 20 min so we waited. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and ginger onion lobster tail. The chicken was prepared with breast meat so it’s a little hard. Perhaps it’ll be more juicy with chicken thigh or drumsticks. The lobster tail has a great flavor and I would order it again( 1 serving is $36.99). Overall we enjoyed the place and I plan to try the dim sum there next round.

I was in the mood after work to get something from a downt to earth country cafe so I saw ABC Cafe and thought I could get a chicken fried steak there. Turns out it was a really nice Chinese restaurant. When I came in, I was greeted with a great amount of hospitality. The place very clean and friendly. The food was very nice as well. Got myself some steamed shrimp balls and the chicken & eggplant hot pot. They werent expensive and my meal added up to $16. I left impressed.

Bad food bad people!!! Will never come here again!!! Chilli in the sweet and sour Not listed on the menu for anyone who is allergic to chilli. It cost .50c for a half way full container. The crab rangoon have barely any filling. The meal was not even wrapped so the fluids got on everything. What is the brown stuff in the middle of the white rice? Also no refund because it was an online order.

I arrived during lunch time restaurant was packed but the wait time was not too bad. The service was fast and the servers were attentive. I had tried a lots of dishes; love the wide selections of their Chinese food. Flavor wise was decent to most dishes only some that flavorless needed sauce to add more flavors to it; dishes like ginger and scallion salty whole chicken. My favorite dishes are ginger and onion lobster tail, XO sauce turnips cake, chicken feet in black bean sauce, pork bun and fried intestine. I was there alone ordering a lot and came home with whole bunch of leftover boxes, so happy LOL.

The restaurant serves the best pork and shrimp siomai. If you are a tofu lover, try their tofu with brown sauce. Service is fast and with free unlimited rice.

I love this place! Dim sum is perfect. One of the only places in Kansas City that you can get dim sum any day of the week! They are always fast and on top of service too! Very nice staff!

We had a wonderful dinner here! We all got about 4 plates of dim sum to share and enjoy. The service was great, we stayed for about an hour and a half and our glasses never went empty! I would definitely recommend the shrimp balls and mango pudding!!

Pros: (1) Can seat about 50 people (or around 13 groups maybe) (2) Food quality seems high (no gristles in the “ABC Chicken”) (3) Friendly staff (4) Varied menu (5) Seems very popular (Friday night) (6) Large portion size Cons: (1) Somewhat expensive (but food quality seems to have scaled accordingly)

If you want authentic Cantonese/Chinese food, you should try ABC Cafe. The food is good and the servings size is good for the value. My family and I have eaten here many times and have tried a lot of items on their menu. Every single dish has been a crowd pleaser. I especially like the quick service. It’s a tiny place but they get people in quickly especially since we normally come on the weekends. They get pretty busy but service has been top notch every time.

Had "dim sum" from here for the first time today, ordered a variety of foods. Everything was AMAZING! From the BBQ pork, to the shrimp dumplings, shrimp spring rolls, beef shank pancakes, steamed buns, rice...it was all delicious. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. Will definitely be ordering from here again!

My all-time favorite Chinese home cooking style! My favorite dim sum dishes are wonton noodle soup, shrimp and vegetable pocket, Xia Long Boa and steamed shrimp dumplings! Close on Tue and Wed and open from Thu-Mon 11.45-9.30 pm. There is plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant.

ABC was introduced to me by a friend. It’s one of the best Chinese food that I’ve tasted in overland park. Everything that we tasted(ABC Chicken, Singapore style noodles, Chicken/Shrimp fried rice, chicken wings & Red Bean Bun) was great.

I give it a 5 for a quick spot for great food. Small little place but quality food and more authentic than most places. Lots to choose from and the family liked it. Would definitely recommend this low key hidden gem if you’re not looking for anything fancy but looking for a great tasting meal.

The best and worst thing about this place is the location. It's tiny and it's loud and you're supremely close to everyone in the entire place. Which is a nightmare for anyone on the spectrum. But it's close to home and insanely easy to grab take out and come home and just have a display of amazing food in front of you to eat while in the comfort of your own home. But it definitely is worth the experience of ordering and enjoying inside. Only once in my life have I heard someone say it was just a mediocre experience. This place rocks and most people would agree. Go give them all of your money and feel like you should give them more. And then give them more.

The Beef chow fun is extremely tasty. I got it my first time here and fell in love. The noodles are perfectly cooked every time, and the beef is so tender! They must use an excellent cut for this dish. Come for the dim sum, or for a big dish! You will not be disappointed. This part of 87th st. is chocked full of good food!!

I have been searching for an authentic asian food for so long. I have found it. Loved everything we ordered. From Shrimp dumplings to Chicken spring rolls to chicken and shrimp fried rice. There was a 30 min waiting on weekend, but it was totally worth it. I will surely come back again.

We chose a selection of 8 different dim sum items and every single one was delicious especially the scallion pancakes with BBQ roast pork! They brought out each dish as it was finished. It was very quiet, which was nice, but I'm not sure if that's always their standard atmosphere as we ate a late lunch at 3pm. I'm excited to go back and try their other entrees!

Love coming here for Dim Sum and CHINESE! This restaurant is not very big therefore prepare to wait if you come around noon or dinner time. We came here on a Sunday right when they opened (11am) and it was already busy. Also try calling this restaurant before you head out. For example I know they are off January 22-? (I forgot when). My favorite dish is wanton noodle soup. Also I always order a dessert after my meal (mango pudding). It is delicious! Try one and see if you like it! The server told me they make it fresh every morning :-)

Good Service. Decent Prices. Dumplings were good. Buns were solid. Definitely over hyped (Compared to great restaurants) I doubt I’d return.

So I will say we did get serviced right away walking through the door. The service was great and attentive. We did order water to drink but our glasses were very water stained. We ordered 8 different dim sum plates. They did not all come out together. About every 5-7 minutes we got two plates at a time. Cucumber salad was great. Great mushroom plate. Chicken feet tasted like it was freezer burned, you could taste that distinct freezer taste, the chicken feet overall did not have much flavor to it. Spare ribs had okay flavor. The curry beef was good I did enjoy the flaky crust on it. Overall I think this spot is decent for something cheap but I would consider other restaurants if you want better quality.

👍👍 Recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Q39 South. We ordered two combination plates with ribs and brisket, but different sides (pictured). The ribs and brisket were fantastic.
