I don't know where to start. Service was horrible. Young guy that works there should never work with people. Don't know his own menu. Don't remember orders, and kind of rude. Super slow, I waited for 1 hr to get cevapi. Food was coming like from Amazon, every 15 min one dish. So we as family couldn't eat together. They definitely need to hire better personnel. FOOD: so, so. For kids fish and chips very poor, gulas comes only with stew, no bread or something else so u can combine with it. Shopska salad vegetables were not fresh. Burek was made in the morning and when we arrived around 6 pm they just warmed up so taste was bad. Better that they have Burek only in morning when is fresh made. Cevapi, meat alone was delicious but bred really bad. So overall bad. I drove from San Antonio just to try it and left with bad taste.

This place was phenomenal. I was missing Serbia quite a bit and was very excited to find a little slice of it here in Austin. Food is good, staff is good, drinks are good. They've even got rakija! It really allowed me to reminisce.

Tol;dr no yogurt??? 🙃 Came here mainly for the burek (with cheese) and shopska salata but ended up getting more cause the burek is relatively small and treated as an appetizer. The salad was great. So the burek was Ok (not like home sadly) but I was surprised there was no yogurt (it's not in the menu at all), they only had sour cream. The waiter told us multiple people have asked for it, so might be a worth investment. We also got the burger with fries, and palacinki as a dessert. The fries were nicely flavored (with paprika I think) and the palacinki were nice and filling. The place itself is pretty cool, they play Serbian folk music in the background (narodna muzika). I'd come back once there's yogurt

Disappointing. No authentic dishes. Gulas was taken off the menu. Just boring Americanized food. I regret driving out of the way for this.

This place is a hidden gem. The restaurant itself seems to be a house re-purposed, and it's so adorable. Very small and intimate. Clean. Lots of neat decor everywhere. European vibes for sure. Our server, Z, was so ridiculously sweet and attentive. My friend thinks he's eye candy too, so that's always nice, right? We ordered tea and Dr. Pepper, and he put the drinks into the "tea" and "Dr. Pepper" branded cups. I honestly didn't even notice until my friend pointed it out, but it was such a small detail that was so cute in my opinion. Food was great. There's also outdoor seating and a volleyball net and Jenga out in the back. Really cool spot!

My friends and I had a great dine in experience here! I ordered the Cevapi and shared it with friends. The burger and sandwich were delicious. The meat was well seasoned and cooked. The waitress was really cool, and the decor was fascinating.

A taste of home in Texas! My Ćevapi were tasty and well seasoned. Turkish coffee, like traditional and good rakija options. TiTo!

Our first visit! We split the special mixed meat platter with hummus and salad. Fresh & tasty, great service and good happy hour drink prices. Plenty of parking & nice atmosphere. We'll be back!

The food was very good! This is the kind of food I prepare at home. We ordered goulash, it was really good, meat was nice and tender. Cevapcici entree was perfect. The crepes were good, baklava not so much, too soggy! Burek with cheese, too dry!!!

Great little spot. The food was delicious, and the staff was so friendly. We had the Turkish coffee with the rosehip crepe and beef pastry. They even brought water for our dog. The outside seating with the balkan radio station really makes for an awesome atmosphere. Really brought me back to a road trip I did in the balkans a few years ago.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Very friendly and welcoming owner who helped us first-timers order. We got the mixed meat platter and everything came out exactly as imagined! The pita bread was hot and baked so well and the meat was seasoned perfectly and tasted wonderful. It’s unlike anything else I’ve tried especially with the paprika sauce. Salad was also great too! Would definitely come back!

Have been going to this place since we moved here 2 years ago and have always loved it. I’m guessing ownership or something changed in the last few months. I took my mother in law who was visiting from Serbia and was terribly disappointed. It is no longer a “Balkan” restaurant as there are only like two items on the menu left. The new menu is completely Americanized, significantly higher prices, and underwhelming. Very sad about the changes and probably won’t be going back :(

I was sharing some information about my time spent in the Balkans with a client, when he asked if I had been to the Balkan Cafe. I had not and planned to visit for lunch. Cevapi was all I thought of all morning! Such a great, inviting Cafe. The server was awesome! I ordered the Cevapi. It was great! They have a super menu with a variety of beverages. The outdoor space was set up nicely and a great spot for some Turkish coffee with dessert. I'll certainly go back!

We loved this place because the food was amazing. But we came today and they've changed the menu - it's almost exclusively American food now. The food is still good, but it's not the menu we came here for. I don't know why it was changed, but I sure hope they change it back soon.

What a great time we had last night. The food was delicious and our waitress so friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes they serve and just being a great hostess. We highly recommend this Cafe!

Appetizer and drinks were tasty. Wanted to order dinner but waiter never came back to take our order! Tried to be patient even though there was only 1 other party in the entire restaurant, but after +20 minutes I went to look for someone to get the check from. Found waiter standing behind bar texting. When we first sat down she was very friendly and attentive so I was surprised. Not sure if I'll be going back to try again.

I felt the food was fresh and hotter than most House kitchen meals. We ordered some type of cheese bread and The feta fries were amazing and the lamb and vegetable stew which happened to be there soup of the day was one of the better lamb stews I've ever had :)
