I want to start off by saying I wish I could give them zero stars, but that's not an option. I purchased my home July 27th 2018, since that time I haven't made a claim against my insurance and never considered it. I purchased a new roof out of pocket. I just replaced my heating system out of pocket in Oct 2021. In the beginning of 2022 my wife and I started noticing the rain was damaging our three season room. it became concerning when the step disconnected from the dwelling. on top of the step the rain shorted our electric and sparked a small fire under our siding and burning through it. The last bad rain storm in May shut all the outlet down for good and took a portion of our power out of our house. I filed a claim with insurance company and it took them 3 weeks to have someone call me back after I had to call them literally five times. They sent out a public adjuster (Scott Schabacker) who was a really nice guy and he even said how bad the damages were and he will submit the claim asap. After Scott left I waited another three days and still nothing from them. I finally was able to schedule to have someone call me and it was a very dismissive and rude man who could care less about my family and our well being. He had an attitude and I felt disrespected. Here I am 4yrs in to a contract and never filing a claim to be totally alienated by this company that is supposed to be helping me. I was supposed to receive a letter via email that never came explaining why I was denied. I am hiring an insurance lawyer to find others who has had this company and request a claims audit. I'm not going to say it's a scam, but what I will say is they don't conduct good business at all. If you want good insurance this wouldn't be the company to use. 8-2-22: Update I received an email yesterday saying they would pay a portion of the cost. A whole $211 of the $10428 I was quoted. Not only do they undervalue the market cost. They are literally just taken money from us working folks. So, I'm canceling my policy with them and getting a lawyer and trying to find 20 other people who they have done an injustice to and we can file a class action lawsuit.

First time homeowner and about 8 years into owning the home I had a major leak in the upstairs which completely destroyed the ceiling downstairs. When I had an adjuster come he said he'd get me a check for 5k, but called back later saying I had a renters policy and it wasn't covered. When I called the agent I left a scathing email and never received a call back. This year, I have wind damage to my siding and called to get my policy number. They tell me my policy was cancelled 3 years ago for non payment from the escrow, due to a lapsed mortgage payment. Never was notified, I never received any mail from them. Basically I gave them thousands of dollars, had only two small issues I needed covered, and I got nothing. Wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy, as they have left me with thousands in debt and financial problems that I might never recover from. Stay away, they are the shining example of why insurance is a scam. If 8 pocketed the hundreds per month I'd have a huge pot to deal with my repairs. Instead, nothing.

Buyer beware! While this home insurance is more reasonably priced, realize it’s for a reason….they don’t want to pay when there is a claim. My roof was damaged by a storm before Christmas & it took 8 months, an insurance adjuster & we still only received barely a quarter of the cost of a new roof! Needless to say they will never get my business again.

I have this insurance company since I bought my house. We got hit by the storm and my roof was damaged bad. It's over 20 days and they didn't do anything until now. No phone calls being answered and the adjuster they sent after 14 days don't respond to any phone calls. If you shopping for home insurance stay away . I don't see myself the only person having this issues going through the reviews here. Update.... Finally after two years no joke two years my roof was covered until they pay for the damage to be fixed. And it's was me who did most of the work to find decent contractor to do the job . I still end paying out of almost 50% of the cost. They have the worst and nastiest adjusters. Adjuster told me go fix the roof and we will send you 5k check. The cheapest estimate i received was 15k. When I said I don't have such money to cover to fix the roof. He told me "your financial situation not our problem" . I'll be definitely shopping for new insurance. Hopefully you see my review and don't fall for this .

One of the worst insurance company and the worst adjusters working in the company. TONY HAMILTON, the adjuster is so rude to the contractor and writing up the roof inspection report to the customer as a poor installation of the roofing shingles. Roof inspector and field adjuster even acknowledged for the wind damages which caused to have the shingles blown off and missing. But conclusion, it was a poor installation so they won’t cover the roof. And there were many occasions with high gust wind storm events in the area. Person like Tony Hamilton should be educated how to identify the issues correctly instead of making nonsense statement to close the claims for the customer. This insurance company need to hire professionally educated adjusters who can help the homeowners instead of taking all their premiums from them without protecting customer’s property. When you pay your insurance carrier to protect your property, they should cover the damages. Non of these matter should be ignored. Tony Hamilton is a good example of an unprofessional adjuster to handle the claims for the company and the company will have extremely upset customers which will leads to loose many of their clients. My recommendation is look for another insurance company if you want to protect and insure your home without going thru dealing with this nonsense matter. The State attorney and insurance commissioners should investigate into this company and review their claim process and decisions.

Takes a long time to respond to policy holders, provides inaccurate estimates (I had a roof damage from a storm and they said the repairs fell below $1000, but a third party contractor said it was $1700 to fix), and the their adjustor/inspector takes a long time to schedule an appointment. Update: it's a work in-progress but they are working with the issues with the house gradually. Update: I may be switching home insurace. The roof costed me over $3,000 to fix and Philadelphia Contributionship did not qualify me for the claim. I'm going to find out of they'll honor my new claim out of emergency that I had to replace a broken water heater in January immediately since I have a toddler at home.

We had ice damming in our gutter which caused a leak. They originally gave us $8,000 for repairs but retracted that payment. I had to apply for a loan to replace the whole roof and remediate mold. It took a long time to be approved for a no interest loan which was no fault of my own, just a long process. I have since received a cancellation notice due to neglect which is not true. The date for replacement and repairs has been set. They basically set us up after we payed thousands on the policy throughout the years

Decent insurance company. Premium was fantastic then we ended up filing a couple of claims within 5 years now the premium is 3x the amount (8 years). We switched to another provider. It is a shame we can not file a claim for fear of increased premiums.

My husband and I pay renters insurance, and our power was out for a few days. It’s below freezing, food went bad, we have a young daughter and 2 fur babies. I called on a Saturday to get help, was told someone would give me a call back ASAP… no call. But hey, I’ll get an email letting me know that money will be taken out of my account. Don’t worry my husband and I got it under control. Edit, since I’m not sure there is away to directly reply back to the owners. You might want to get your system checked out then. Or hire new people. Here is my cell phone record, showing that I called twice (see highlighted). As I said, I spoke to someone and was told someone would call me back ASAP and no one did. Thanks for being reliable REGARDLESS if you cover power outages or not. It’s nice to know my family is in good hands!

My situation started off great. they seemed to care about my home damage. I was trying to do most of the repairs myself, but it became too big. after we had to add some more issues to the claim I cant seem to get my adjuster to answer my calls and emails. Last time i talked to him it was let me get to my computer and I'll call you right back. 4 days ;later nothing. I'm not sure but I'm feeling like I need to get an attorney involved now. Or my state insurance commissioner. It is starting to become a bit of a problem with no contact from them now at all.

A word of warning, before you consider The Philadelphia Contributionship. I opened a homeowner's claim with TPC and jumped through all their hoops. When I submitted the final invoice, my adjuster, Joe left me a voicemail refusing to pay. Joe also told me the claim was closed and to get an attorney, if I wanted to pursue the matter. My experience with Joe and TPC has been combative, deceptive and unhelpful. TPC has been completely unsatisfactory and I'm filing a complaint with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, as well as obtaining legal representation. Brother Ben Franklin would not appreciate his name and likeness being used in such a way. So mote it, be.

I had this company a few years ago and never remembered to leave a review. This is an absolutely horrible insurance company and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I had a small water leak from a pipe, which caused damage to my home. Karen Sitzenstock was a nightmare to work with, lied and made things up and was completely unresponsive. I left this company and haven't looked back since.

I filed a claim due to backup of my sump pump. It was a very stressful time for me and my claim representative Joshua Kraft was very helpful and understanding. He was exceptional with following up with me and processing my claim quickly.

During the most recent storm, I experience property damage. I called my insurance carrier and was quickly assigned to Laurie DiPasquale, she went out of her way to ensure I understood the process. She demonstrated patience and compassion when explaining the process and next steps. Additionally, after giving me very detailed instructions, she followed up with me on several emails to ensure that all my concerns were addressed. This was some of the best customer service I experience during this difficult time. She even followed up with all parties involved on my behalf. Amazing service! I cannot express how much she has placed my mind at ease. In today’s day and age, it’s good to know this level of customer service still exist. Excellent job Laurie.

We had a prompt response to our claim. A cracked stack did damage to our dining room. After the plumbers competed the repairs we used a firm recommended by the Philadelphia Contributionship: Mark Irwin Associates. They completed the work quickly and expertly. The dining room now looks better than it did before.

I was in contact with Joshua Kraft with The Philadelphia Contributionship and he has been wonderful to work with! He has been polite, patient, and showed genuine concern. He is also very conscientious about replying to emails! Even when I emailed him during winter break time, he would quickly respond to reassure me that he would reply as soon as he got back to the office and he let me know when that would be. He has been a wonderful adjuster to work with. I highly recommend The Philadelphia Contributionship! Sincerely, Kim

I went with this company because their quote was lower than bundling with my auto insurance. I had a claim for a lightning strike on my chimney. They were prompt and courteous. They immediately reimbursed me for what I paid out. I'm very pleased. Mr. Hayes was helpful and responsive.

Everyone from the assessment, to the remediation, to the restoration of my flooded basement was professional, skilled, reliable and - really helpful and thoughtful in their dealings with me. I expect insurance companies to try to cut corners, always say 'not covered' and try to get out of paying any cost to serve the client. PC is the opposite. They went above and beyond on everything. I can't imagine a more responsive insurance co. They really have integrity. ( I know this is really glowing, but I really am a customer. They were just great.)

My husband and I are currently using TPC. We recently had damage done to our home and had to file a claim with the TPC. Not only was the claim process quick and easy, our adjuster Mark.O was AMAZING. He was very knowledgeable of his job and took care of our claim quickly. I have already recommended TPC to my family members that are new homeowners and will continue to do so.

I understand where I stood with my claim, but the bedside manner of this company is horrible. My foundation cracked, my entire basement flooded amounting to $11k+ in fixed. Karen....yes her name is Karen...told me that I should have "read my coverage more before accepting it" since I work in the insurance industry. As if my broken home or the $11k bill wasn't enough, that comment was uncalled for. I was then "assured" that I had amazing coverage, which clearly I do not. This company needs to rethink how they handle claims. DO NOT work with them.

Very condescending tone when detailing what policies cover. She said, and I QUOTE “We don’t want to be paying for a family vacation…” Miss ma’am I know you don’t cover vacations are you implying that’s what I would use my claim funding for?

I had an issue with a plumbing leak in a building basement, which turned into a pretty major issue I had to resolve, and a very frustrating event to deal with. However, my claims process with The Philadelphia Contributionship (PCIC) greatly helped reduce my headache. Compared to other service providers I had dealt with, PCIC was outstanding; they were 1) very responsive, 2) very patient and helpful in talking me through which part of my coverage applied to which issue, and 3) clear in terms of their process & "next steps". Specifically, Karen S. and Mark O. were the claims adjusters assigned to me, and they were amazing to work with, and any guidance they gave me they delivered on. I strongly recommend PCIC as an insurance provider, and will definitely be working with them going forward on other property coverage needs.

From the initial claim to the final payment the company and the adjuster made the process as easy as possible. Communication through the process was great and payments were made in a very timely manner.

This is the worst company and the offer I just received on my property is laughable. It’s like not having insurance at all. The premium seems low to obtain a policy until something actually happens to your property. I plan to replace coverage with another carrier ASAP because this isn’t worth it.

Tried contactong company many times but no one ever gets back to you-- if this is their sales dont want to know how bad is their service in case of a claim

Had policies with them for a few years. After a bad storm called to file a claim. This is when you realize what kind of company this is. So far extremely disappointed. Their contracted adjuster was the worst. Two weeks after the storm still have not been contacted for appointment.

Our mortgage company mailed a check to them two weeks prior to the renewal date, and USPS failed to deliver the mail. My mortgage company told me they have had trouble with mail being delivered to Philadelphia addresses. When my insurance broker called them to tell them the check was lost in the mail, they told my broker they wouldn’t renew the policy because my roof was over 20 years old. I have not had any problems with the roof. If they had concerns with the age of the roof, then why did they send a renewal policy, letter and bill. And why didn’t they give me time to get a replacement roof? Furthermore, I never had a single claim with them for any issues at all. Within minutes after being notified about this, I have a policy with a different company with a very high customer satisfaction rating from Consumer Reports. Good riddance TPC.

We had a complicated insurance claim on our house and were lucky enough to get Karen Sitzenstock as our Inside Property Claim Rep. Karen did a wonderful job working with us to get the required information and more importantly communicating with us every step of the way. I have never had such a positive experience working with an insurance company as I did this time! Karen really represented the company well and created very satisfied customers for life.

Terrible company that doesn’t care about their policy holders. Scumbags. Please listen and do not use them. I promise you’ll regret it when they drop you in a time of need.
