Mark was very easy to work with. My partner and I met him 3 times to discuss her wedding band. Mark was extremely attentive and listened to our design ideas for a ring. We wanted a Sapphire gem and he was able to provide a variety of sizes and colors to pick from. For my 30th birthday, I decided I wanted to gift myself an heirloom-quality ring made with some old mine cut diamonds I already owned. I love vintage/antique jewelry and explained to Mark that I was looking for an Edwardian-style ring with pearls and diamonds. In the first session, we took about 1.5hrs to discuss what I wanted while he sketched out several different possible designs until we landed on one I loved. The next step was creating the cast mold, and he had me come in to try it on and see how I liked the design in 3D so that we could make adjustments if something wasn't feeling right. Mark was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the entire process. The end result is incredible. Mark is truly an artist and expert craftsman. The ring is exactly what I wanted and it's incredibly well-made. This piece is something I am going to be passing down as an heirloom in the future - so much thought, detail, and hard work was put into it and it shows. I came here for my wife's wedding ring, and we couldn't have asked for a better jeweler. We had general ideas in mind (emeralds making a sort of flower petal shape, diamonds on the band, heart shapes you could see through, and a mirrored version for symmetry). Mark drew up several designs based on our descriptions, until we landed on something we really liked. He borrowed (and cleaned) the engagement ring to fit a handmade model of our design to it. Mark was able to make a couple rounds of edits to the model to really make it perfect. He gave us our official quote and asked for a pretty reasonable deposit as he needed to order a few more triangular emeralds. After a couple weeks, Mark showed us one ring of the set, and mentioned that the emeralds ordered were nicer than what he had on hand. So, he had gone ahead and ordered a few more of that quality to make sure it matched and didn't raise the quote despite the increase in production costs. He completed the set, and we are 100% satisfied. It's held up phenomenally over the past nine months, and my wife gets tons of compliments on it. If we ever wanted to create another piece of jewelry, we would definitely come back. Thanks Mark!

Mark created a beautiful interlocking engagement and wedding ring set for us back in 2012 or so. He was very easy to work with, taking our loose idea and translating it into a stunning piece of art. We met several times to go over the design, ensure the fit, and discuss any changes. It is my favorite piece of jewelry. If I ever have need of repair or cleaning, I can send it to him, and he will take care of it and ship it back to me. Mark made my wife's engagement and wedding rings years ago. I brought them in recently, along with my wedding band that I did not purchase through Mark, to get cleaned. Not only did he clean them but he did some repair work on my ring (the one not purchased through him) free of charge! This is the kind of service you can expect with Mark. He goes above and beyond. For our 10th anniversary my husband selected a beautiful Montana Sapphire from Gemfix in the Jewelers Exchange building and had set in a minimalist white gold ring from Mark. I wore the ring for awhile but the setting was just too tall for my lifestyle and we reached out to see about changing. Mark was very helpful, we came back in and he suggested a basket setting that can sit lower in the band, and exchanged for the previous setting. The new design is gorgeous and somehow lets more light in the stone than before, I love the simplicity but softness of the setting. We are very happy with our experience, thank you Mark!

I had an idea to make an engagement ring out of a special piece of pottery for my girlfriend. This clay piece was from an ancient civilization dated about 2,000 years ago. After visiting several jewelers, I was feeling very discouraged. They were not willing to work with a piece so soft and fragile and told me it was pretty much impossible. Mark, however, took the challenge and made a beautiful engagement ring. He covered the pottery piece with a clear sapphire to protect it and yet made the red clay shine. The design turned out to be perfect for a unique and special ring.

I cannot say enough good things about Mark and his business. Mark was incredibly helpful in creating a special, one of a kind ring for my husband when he was picking out an engagement ring for me. My husband has no knowledge of rings or jewels but Mark was patient and helpful in creating a design from the limited vision and information about me and my taste that my husband provided. He can make anything from the most basic jewelry (like my husband's ring) to the most custom jewelry (like my engagement ring and wedding band). He was also able to create a beautiful ring from some diamonds my husband provided from his late grandma and had matching ones to supplement the rest of the ring. I love my rings, the meaning behind them and working with a professional like Mark to help us make decisions but also allow us to personalize with our own ideas when applicable. He will also provide lifetime cleaning to us when needed.

Mark is an artisan and a great listener. Due to arthritis, my wedding set needed to be cut off (by another jeweler). He worked with us to create a new unique wedding band from an idea we had based on a ring I loved but wouldn’t accommodate my gems from the original engagement ring, and he made it in rose gold, my favorite! He also suggested a special shank with a secure hinge that would allow me to remove it when needed, and the size of my enlarging joints would not be a problem. We are so incredibly please with the result! We highly recommend Mark and his talents to everyone who seeing the beautiful creation he designed for me.

He has an exceptional collection of diamonds, which we went through pretty extensively to find the perfect diamonds to add to my ring. I wanted to update it to something a little more modern so that I could wear it daily and I’m absolutely thrilled with the final product. We discussed some enhancements and lots of options. I really hate to do this! Several years ago my sweet husband worked with Mark to design my "dream ring". Several years ago and I've probably worn it a total of 4-6 weeks. Mark designed it online, of course. This seems like a good idea in theory. The design was gorgeous on the computer screen! Just what I thought I wanted! Once it was made though, it was uncomfortable from the get go. I ignored it for the sake of my husband. Then, the stones we had chosen from Mark to use started getting dimmer and dimmer. Polishing did nothing. We brought it back and he admitted that the stones had been set incorrectly AND the stones we bought from him, for this ring, were too soft for his design. I also complained about the pain it was causing my hand. The sides of the ring were just too fat! He gave us credit for the ruined stones and set to work out the discomfort issues and place the new PINK SAPPHIRE and BLUE DIAMONDS we bought from Mark, for a hefty price. When we got it back the second time, the discomfort was still there and the new way Mark set the stones made them look like cabochons. Big bummer!!! Over the years he has tried to make it more comfortable, to no avail. At this point, we're just going to sell it privately for what we can get. Mark has been constantly obliging throughout the years and we are grateful. I just think it was an isolated design mistake. Too bad we have to pay the price, though. Chalk it up to experience. Custom jewelry was a rough experience. That's why I love estate jewelry- you already know what you're getting.

He listens to what you want and makes it a reality. The first ring is a sapphire with two trillion stones. The second ring is a blue zircon set in 22k gold. Mark was absolutely amazing! We had a custom ring made out of my boyfriend's wisdom tooth with diamonds set within in. We were very worried about the structure of the tooth breaking, but he was extremely careful. He drilled down into the tooth to anchor the diamonds in the metal so they wouldn't budge. Mark is a true artist. He took such great care of us. Thank you, Mark!!

Let’s be honest here, when you are dedicating a piece of jewelry to mark a once in a lifetime moment, you want that piece of jewelry to be just as special and important as the moment itself. That is what Mark does magnificently. The only specs I started out with were a pear shaped, big center stone, white gold and a cushion. Mark took that and ran with it in the design of my engagement ring. He added so many special details I would have never thought to add. Such as having the center stone raised with such meticulous nature that the bottom of my high clarity morganite microscopically barley touches the casing it is mounted in. So difficult to describe so please refer to photos for a better ‘picture’. With my husband’s ring, I asked Mark to incorporate a center piece of wood into the band. He explained why that wasn’t a good idea (over time the wood can expand and ruin the ring) and then designed something I would have never thought of. He used a white gold band and actually hand drew in wood etchings to make the ring resemble a tree, and not just any tree but Koa wood (longer more continuous wood markings). He then added the black sapphires from one of my mom’s old pieces of jewelry and used that as the wood knots in the ring. The finished product is something everyone is stunned by and most importantly, it perfectly represented what we wanted in the ring as a resemblance of our relationship. Mark is not only a master of his trade in designing timeless pieces of jewelry but he’s also so creative, honest, detailed and fun to talk to. He actually gets excited about his new designs and you can see his enthusiasm in his design process every step of the way. He also provides you with several ‘prototype’ images as he begins his design process and keeps you involved and updated at every step of the way. He’s also so accommodating when it comes to payment options and was even able to take our older pieces of fine jewelry (family heirlooms), melt them down, incorporate the precious metal into our rings AND gave us the most honest price for the remaining goods. Mark is our jewelry guy, the one person I hope continues to make all the pieces of jewelry Tristan & I gift to each other one-of-a-kind unique, special and forever memorable.

Fantastic service! We were looking for a custom jeweller to make our wedding rings but we wanted something a little special. My fiancee wanted her wedding ring to match up to her engagement ring, Mark patiently went through a few design options before we found the perfect design. Needless to say she loves it! Even when it came to my ring Mark helped me find a really cool design which really didn't do him any favours as design 1 didn't work out with the size stones we chose. He is such a perfectionist he re-started my ring from scratch with a new size of stones. For a few years, I wanted a white gold or platinum cigar band & decided to finally treat myself to one. I'm a tough critic yet was impressed by Mark's reviews & creativity; so I chose him to make it. What can I say about Mark, his passion and his work, quite a lot actually. I first approached him about incorporating my fiancée’s heirloom diamond into a new ring. Mark walked me through the design process and in the end its beauty is unrivaled. His artistry and technical skill make this something we will have trouble passing onto our own kids one day. We then approached him about designing and creating my wedding band. I wanted a design inspired by Lichtenberg Figures, which while certainly a first for him, did not dampen his enthusiasm for the project. Mark again made the design process a breeze and his mastery brought a ring to life I only had seen in my dreams. Finally Mark worked to reconfigure a pendant we received into a different chain/fastener configuration and for the third time, he nailed it. He always showed us his friendly nature (we always left with a smile on our faces), amazing design/technical ability, very reasonable prices for materials/labor, and most importantly a feeling that Mark would do anything to make us happy.
