YES! Come here you will not be disappointed!! We are from Texas and after months of traveling we NEEDED comfort food. The moment we saw "Tex-Mex" we were in! So here is an honest Texans review. DELICIOUS! (while the portion size is not a Texas portion - since everything is bigger in Texas) it was perfect. We had nachos with fresh jalapeños and all the toppings. The chips were delicious (homemade) and all of the fixin's were super fresh. The service was impeccable. We had the friendliest waitress who was very proud of the food, where she worked, and the owner. She was as excited as we were! As I am writing this review I am drueling..fine - we are going back tonight and we were just there yesterday! Don't wait - go get your Taco on at the wonderful place! @FollowBrownBacon

Long review quick summary, food was very, very bland but well made. They only serve water in plastic bottles and the dishes are so hot I’m surprised it didn’t damage the table. I ended up here because the place I wanted to go was closed for the holiday. That first photo is all you need to know about the food you’ll get here. If you think Tabasco belongs on Mexican food and find a Soft taco at Taco Bell is a bit to spicy you’ll probably love this place. It’s what I imagine a Mexican restaurant would be like in rural England. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out the rinse their ground beef. However the food was made well with decent ingredients so it just comes down to taste. My big complaints. They only have plastic bottled water. Guys it’s 2023, what in the world are you thinking? Stop it, seriously. I wouldn’t order it thankfully the food wasn’t spicy enough to worry about it. My second complaint, they brought the Nachos out on a stoneware bowl HOTTER THAN THE SURFACE OF THE SUN. I’d imagine people that like this food probably eat nachos with a fork. I do not, I eat them with my fingers like a normal person. Think about that, finger food served on dish so hot it was still making little sizzling noises. Oddly enough the refried beans were cold. I don’t know how you accomplished that. If you find for some reason this is the only way to make nachos maybe put them on some parchment paper and slide them onto a normal plate? Or I suggest actually putting hot ingredients on the nachos and maybe a few moments under the broiler to melt the cheese instead of baking it like a casserole. Sorry guys, well made food and I get plenty of people prefer bland food so there’s a market there. Not offering glasses of water and serving food on an oven is unacceptable though. Best of luck.

The place is small but seems to be clean and we'll kept. The chicken borrito I got was good flavor and had lots of beans and rice veggies etc. But I had to search for the chicken. It was a big borrito and tasted great but it was more a rice and bean borrito with a little chicken than the other way around. And the price for this was a little high but not crazy. 244 baht for borrito and soft drink. Salsa is extra cost so I didn't ask for it. Maybe next time. I will return just to try something else. I would say give it a shot and see for yourself as I am on the fence for this place.

Great location on the east side of the Old City. Comfortable, spacious & shaded veranda to watch the moat and the world go by. The baby burrito was excellent and filling for lunch... easier on the stomach than a large full-size. The ground beef filling had a nice zing of heat with balanced filling including rice & beans.

Amigos is a solid choice for Tex-mex style food in Chiang Mai. It is styled after a Mission style burrito joint, with a limited menu and an open style food prep area. They even wrap their burritos in foil. I had the pork burrito. It was a pretty tasty, and the ingredients were of good quality. However, the filling was bland and needed a kick. I ordered a side of their homemade salsa to help, but it was extremely mild. I had to add Tabasco sauce (offered for free on the table), and this made me question why I had paid for the salsa in the first place. This is a great place for someone wanting relatively healthy south of the border choices - they offer ‘naked’ and baby-sized burritos and smaller wraps- but for a true burrito, I think you’ll get a better offering at El Diablo across the moat. Service was excellent, and they even brought my dog a bowl of water. I’ll come back again to try their tacos next time.

Satisfying Tex-Mex food, not too expensive. It’s a small place and service was a little bit slow, but the excellent food more than made up for it. It’s also not too greasy, which I appreciate.

I've eaten here twice now and both times it's been excellent! The ingredients are fresh, a nice mix, very organized, and right in the middle of old Town. I highly recommend if you have a hankering for Mexican to try the burritos!

Interior is nice and cool. The food is what you would expect at Taco Bell. In these hard economic times (4/2022) I don’t want to say much more to disparage the place. Doesn’t seem kind. Note to owners: 1. How can you increase the flavor? Cutting costs on cheaper ingredients is not going to bring you success. 2. Don’t sit in front of your customers playing with your cellphone. Just don’t do it.

I stopped in this place after visiting Wat Prah Singh. It was nice to find a place to eat that wasn't the regular Thai fare. I ordered the chicken nacho's & a soda water with fresh lime over ice. So refreshing after walking jn the heat. The nacho's were very good , well balanced flavors with good chips, cheese & sour cream. And not spicy , which I appreciated. Portion size very generous & price was decent. I would eat here again when in Chiang Mai. Good Mexican cafe '.

The vegetarian burritos 🌯 are one of the best I’ve had! It’s a small place with a big personality run by a friendly chef 👨‍🍳 who making it all happen right in front of you. Don’t worry if you order too much, you can always take it to go and enjoy it later after a night out. It’s also a great option for delivery 🛵 food.

What a nice surprise! I was walking around visiting temples and happened to see this Mexican food place open and decided to give it a try. It’s a small place, only a few tables, but the guy who talked to me was very nice and the chicken quesadilla I had was supeeeer tasty!! great red sauce and guacamole, the chicken was super well seasoned, everything was fresh and fast to serve. I liked it so much I decided to order the beef quesadilla the next day and it was also delicious, even as a delivery. warning for people: If you don’t like coriander, please specify because they put it in the quesadillas (but I love it).

Was trying to have some newer food experience while in Chiang Mai. Mexican food was long awaited in my bucket list and waiting to experience some good authentic spread. Found this place through google reviews and all the positive feedback led me to try the place. It was so good.I had chicken queisadella and classic nachos. Both dishes were yummy and mouth full. Prices are bit high but considering the quality and taste of the food,it was worthy. The place offers maximum seating for 7 people inside as its a small cafe. Outside seating is also available for 3 to 4 people. One lady was running the shop during our visit. They also deliver via grab. The neighborhood is quite peaceful. Top floor offers homestay and rooms for visitors. The store offers to write views and experience of guests on their notice tree which is lovely way to remember their guests from all around the world. Best mexican food I've tasted in Chiang Mai. Hope to visit again 😍

Being from Latin America, this place met our expectations for Mexican food. Great margaritas, the nachos and tacos were on point! If you order ground beef it will always be spicy. Other meats will be non spicy.

Better than any Mexican restaurant in Northern Thailand has any right to be. We popped in to get out of the sudden rain and were pleasantly surprised having spent A LOT of time in Mexico. Is it 100% authentic? No. Is it 100% delicious? YES!

Being from Arizona, USA I have been missing eating Mexican food. I am on a Mexican food journey and Amigos Mexican Bistro was my first stop! I admit that I am starting slow, nothing too complicated so I had a chicken quesadilla and a pork soft taco 🌮. The taco tasted good but it was a little cold. The chicken quesadilla was very good. Being a Mexican food snob, I did not eat any beans refried or otherwise. But this was a good start and I will be back and be more adventurous.

I had the pork quesadilla. It was so good and a very large portion. You have the option to have 2 pieces or 4. I chose 4 and left full. The quesadilla was good on its own, but even better once you added the toppings . My favorite was the guacamole.

Burrito and a beer were about 300 baht, but the burrito was pretty darn good. Served in a basket that was too small to hold it though. Burrito tipped out and into my lap, but thankfully it was well wrapped and didn't fall apart. If the price was a little lower, I would give it 5 stars.

Good food, pricing on the slightly higher side. Good vegetarian selections. Drink selections very limited. Pretty loud on the outside sittings, inside is peaceful as the door is generally closed. Should slightly increase the amount of sauce/sour cream served with the main dish.

Grilled chicken burrito (219 baht) is good. It’s also big - could eat only half. Chips are pretty good and salsa is a little bit sweet and not spicy at all (chips and salsa are 99 baht). Burrito and chips were freshly made, so (happily) had to wait a bit. Restaurant is small - only 2 tables inside and 2 outside. Can pay only with cash.

What a delightful piece of Mexico in the middle of the Old City! I just happened to come across it on my way to another place, it was drawn in by the festive group sitting outside. Excellent burrito and I especially like all the post-it notes up on the wall from patrons from around the world.
