Tl;dr:
everything
is
cheap
except
for
the
price.
Everything
in
this
hotel
breathes
cheapness:
tiled
floor
in
the
rooms,
peeling
multiplex
beds
and
everything
self
service
and
optimised
to
be
easily
wiped
&
cleaned.
My
first
room
was
a
narrow
and
unpleasant
alleyway
with
a
bed
at
the
end.
But
the
worst
was
the
smell
in
this
room,
emanating
from
the
bathroom
which
smelt
of
horrible
plumbing
problems.
When
I
spoke
about
it
with
reception
before
going
out
for
dinner,
the
guy
promised
to
go
have
a
look
and
see
what
could
be
done,
but
when
I
returned
after
my
dinner
all
he
could
offer
was
"you
weren't
there
when
I
knocked".
It
was
only
due
to
the
proactive
lady
next
to
him
who
was
busy
with
a
cancellation
that
I
could
move
to
a
different
room
without
putrid
smell.
This
would
all
be
ok
for
a
hostel
where
you
pay
€30
per
night
-
but
I
paid
over
€100
per
night,
a
price
I
have
also
recently
paid
to
lodge
my
whole
family
in
a
four
star
comfortable
hotel
in
Paris
where
the
staff
went
to
great
lengths
to
be
helpful.
I
guess
Meininger
is
meant
for
boozing
&
puking
bachelor
parties
who
are
too
drunk
to
realise
they
are
being
ripped
off.
Just
to
be
clear,
staff
are
generally
friendly
and
try
to
be
helpful
but
the
whole
experience
is
not
aligned
with
the
price.
Update
after
the
hotel
responded:
when
I
mentioned
the
smell
the
first
time
it
wasn't
that
late.
And
surely
hotel
staff
would
be
able
to
smell
this
themselves,
you
don't
need
a
guest
to
point
this
out.
But
even
if
you
choose
to
disregard
this
part
of
my
review
completely,
the
rest
is
still
a
rather
unfortunate
price-quality
ratio...
