Micro
Brasserie
Balthazar
is
a
new
microbrewery
and
craft
beer
bar.
When
I
visited
in
late
2017
they
had
just
opened
and
did
not
have
their
own
house
beer
on
tap,
but
expected
to
have
it
ready
for
serving
in
early
2018.
In
the
meantime,
they
function
as
an
excellent
beer
bar
with
a
bold
selection
of
regional
craft
brews.
They
have
10
beers
on
tap
which
are
available
in
all
manner
of
sizes.
I
enjoyed
the
small
“galopin“
size
so
that
I
could
try
a
variety
of
beers.
The
bartender
is
cheerful,
helpful
and
knowledgeable
about
their
beers.
The
place
has
a
grey
concrete
floor
with
white
walls
and
ceiling.
Eclectic
modern
music
is
playing
and
the
place
has
a
cheerful,
friendly
atmosphere.
Near
the
entrance
is
an
8-stool
wooden
bar
and
on
the
right
are
several
tables.
Behind
the
bar
is
a
stainless
steel
tap
tower
and
a
large
chalkboard
listing
the
beer
offering.
On
the
right
is
a
partitioned
room
which
houses
their
short
stainless
steel
brewing
vessel.
Further
back
behind
the
bar
are
4
stainless
steel
fermenters
and
stacks
of
kegs
to
be
filled.
In
addition
to
beer,
the
bar
also
serves
wine
and
a
few
cocktails.
They
do
not
have
a
kitchen,
so
eat
before
you
visit,
or
feel
free
to
bring
in
food.
I
very
much
enjoyed
their
enthusiasm
for
beer
and
hope
this
new
brewery
is
successful.
