The superb reviews are real. This traditional Irish gastro pub is worth the visit. Does get busy for parking on this street. Corned beef sandwich was the bomb.com - perfectly tender corned beef on marbled rye (personal preference: would ask for the rye to be a little toastier). Good amount of fries. Satisfying lunch portion! Don’t forget to peruse their weekend brunch menu. Neat place - love the closeted booths, and autographed photos. Wonderful service.

Food was spot on fabulous. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was good. If we lived here it would definitely be a regular go to spot for dinner. We had the Ruben and the Heather burger. My husband said he could have eaten two of them. Lol

Another great night of trying out different custom whiskey flights. Again, only place in town that offers this service. So any whiskey aficionados or any whiskey newbies that want to learn from some of the most knowledgeable bartenders need take advantage of this. 2nd review: so weird, seems google doesn't let me add a brand new review. Oh well. To add to this review, it's been over 3 years, post pandemic. And good to see that Irish Heather is just as wonderful. Shocking that they are the only game in town that does custom flights. What that means is you can choose any 4 whiskey's off their huge menu. You get a half pour for half the price. This is insanely fair for the customer. Caveat though is you need to do this NOT on a busy Friday or Saturday night. But if you are a true whiskey fan, you want to go when it is a bit slower as the knowledgeable bartenders will have more time to talk whiskey with you.

We ordered a Christmas dinner for delivery in the height of COVID, and it was great. Gave it another go this year for an in-person Thanksgiving dinner, and holy hell it was amazing. Seriously the best Thanksgiving dinner we've ever had, apologies to the mamas. Great space, excellent staff - next time won't wait so long to return. #thankfulForTheChef & Sean

Shebeen is an Irish word for Speakeasy our friendly waiter said. The food was good, very authentic. The rashers and chips reminded me of the kind I used to have during my Uni days in the UK. If only they had fried bread. The pub decor was super cool and booths were cozy. A perfect choice for St Paddy's Weekend. 🍻☘️⛩️

This bar is amazing, I had my best Guiness beer here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is decent and delicious. Overall I can say one of the best in Vancouver.

I enjoyed my experience thoroughly, I always love a flight of whiskey and even for an “econo-flight” I was happy to find that the quality of the whiskeys was outstanding. Service was excellent and we were in and out on time because of the service. Waitress/waiters were nice and helpful. 5 stars, I’ll be back for another flight one day. Thank you so much.

Best staff I’ve seen for a long time. We were talking about how nice they are for a couple of days! There’s a huge collection of rare drinks, and the whiskey flights are quite enjoyable. There’s paid parking, but it might get busy on the weekends.

I ordered the Stacked Corned Beef with Extra Corned Beef, Curry on my fries and Cheese on my fries as well! Ok, this was a spectacular sandwich! The curry sauce really amped up my fries. I only wish there was more mustard inside the sandwich, but you can always just order that on the side. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu next time I'm in the area.

Stopped in here for lunch. Our waiter was very friendly and provide a good service. The fish and chips were good. The minted peas need to go. They are like baby food and not tasty. Coleslaw would be much nicer. Nice ambiance. Even though it was lunch time, there was quite a few people already drinking at the bar. Because it's a very narrow restaurant, the noise level was a bit much.

Pretty cool place, with superb stacked corn beef sandwich. Ask them to double the meat, it’s a carnivore’s dream (and a vegetarian’s nightmare). Don’t forget about the Guinness, I mean, it’s an Irish pub.

After almost 20 years of memories at the previous Irish Heather/Shebeen locations I was keeping my fingers crossed on my first visit to the new digs... (making it a challenge to hold my Guinness)... but my 2 friends and I had a great time: pints, appetizers, dinner and more than a few whiskies - great, energetic service topped things off... the only indulgence we neglected was dessert 😐 (what were we thinking???). All told, I'll be back and highly recommend The Irish Heather.

My husband and I had our first date at the Irish Heather location in Gastown and celebrated quite a few birthdays there over the years so when we heard they had finally opened their location in Chinatown, we decided to give it a go. Unfortunately they are not even similar. While it is still an Irish bar, the food was meh (seemed like heat & eat microwave items with the pork skins being something you'd get from a bag). If you are looking for an Irish pub then this is a great little place on a quiet street just at the edge of Chinatown. If you are going to compare it to the location that was in Gastown then you will be disappointed especially if you are expecting the separate Shebeans for whiskey. They were nice enough to give us a couple glasses of champagne and the nook was quiet.

Loved this Irish pub! The seating was so well thought out. If you are tucked away in one of the little cubicles or a table for 2, you get the fun buzz of the place and the music, but you can still hear one another! Loved the curry fries with cheese and the smoked gin and tonic! Bathrooms were nice and clean too. What a gem! We'll be back!

Can't say enough about this place. Delicious fish n chips (magically dairy and gluten free) and the best service.... Proper pub with Irish owners. And Paddy's of course. And now they have excellent live music every Thursday 6-8pm with Reid Jamieson (downstairs). They just put in a wee patio too. Love this place!

My son, friend, and I had never been. We had a great time. The bartender Ryan was fantastic, and educated us a little about their Irish whiskey offerings. One definitely has to sample them. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for an Irish Pub. I especially noticed, and appreciated that they had no TV's!! Will definitely return.

Lovely staff and very cool atmosphere. Very much has a true Irish pub feel. The booths are somewhat enclosed, giving you a little more privacy if desired. Giving 4 stars simply because we only popped in for a nightcap later into the evening and weren't there long enough to sample the menu and such.

This place is so great for any scotch / whiskey / bourbon enthusiast! It's a bit pricey, but I think that's to be expected when purchasing such fine spirits, and we drank to the ghost in the room that night! Their curry fries were great, and I would go again for that charcuterie board 100p. Only problem was the location... definitely not as welcoming as the previous location, but cest la vie. The service was top shelf (heh) such friendly and Irish service, I thoroughly enjoyed my time, maybe cause I was buzzed after my Guiness and whiskey flight, but hey! It was a good time all around.

10/10 on food, service, Guinness and prices. A shame they were priced out and replaced in Gastown but I can confirm the new location has all the cozy trappings and welcoming hospitality of the old. Would recommend signing up for employee pricing, the burger in the picture was amazing and only cost $10

A really good selection of whiskey, whisky, and bourbon. Also had the bangers and mash with red wine gravy. Very hearty and delicious. The service was good, and the atmosphere is unpretentious, and homely. It reminds me of he pubs that I'd consider my local in my past.

Super warm, friendly bar with great staff and great drinks. The space is big yet cozy with seating at the bar, tables and almost completely enclosed “rugby booths.” The Guinness was poured beautifully. Other drinks sampled were balanced and delicious. Great vibes here

Great service, super friendly bar. But I have to say... OMG the curry fries. They'll change your goddam life. Do yourself a favour and introduce them into your life. It'll never be the same again.

Fantastic! They have an amazing selection of whiskies here and they do flights too. I have four different whiskies, which were all great, and it was nice to be able to try them all side by side for comparison. Hands down the best whisk(e)y bar I've been to. I will definitely be visiting again some time.

Great to be back at the Irish Heather. New location but the bar still has the same appeal which is warm and friendly. The best scotch collection in town. Perfect sharing food. Very extensive menus that are hard to read on your phone but just ask for a hard copy and they provide.

We’ve been going here for Irish pub fare for nearly two decades now. I truly miss the original iteration of the pub. This latest version has far less personality and warmth to it than their last home in Gastown. My Shepherd’s Pie was sloppy spuds on sloppy gravy that swirled into a sloppy mess. Fare thee well old pub, you seem to be in your final resting place.

This place is my favorite. I visit many restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very warm and the cuisine they serve is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Just had lunch at the new Heather in China Town. It has all the old charm of the old location but Sean has made some great improvements. We had the fish and chips and they were absolutely amazing. He gets his fish fresh from the next door fish monger which is great to see. Love this place.

We were looking for a place to cool down and relax after taking our baby out on an afternoon stroll. The servers were super accommodating and gave us a more private area. We enjoyed the drinks and fish & chips, while baby napped!

A great new (relocated) place to have delicious and creative food and drinks in their new Chinatown location. Always good people watching there too.

What an awesome pub to celebrate St.Patricks Day week with a date the highlight of this place is definitely the service, drinks and food..the best chicken pot pie I've ever tried in North America and the meal was quite filling! Absolutely a wonderful authentic experience! Irishmen servers at our service with many great selections of Irish whiskey and beers..and the salad was so incredibly fresh and soft as if they just picked it out from a garden!
