This is a fantastic spot to gather with friends and family and enjoy an exceptional dining experience. The service was outstanding, and the best onion rings in town were served alongside a delicious roast pork stack, while the Thai noodle salad was packed with flavor. The combination of the patio and the neighborhood made for a lovely evening bite. The food was delicious, the service was quite prompt, and the staff were all friendly. The only minor issue was that our appetizers and main courses were served all at once, despite our request for them to be served sequentially. Other than that, everything was top-notch, and the drinks were delicious as well. However, I personally prefer fewer ice cubes in my drink than what was shown in the picture. This is a lovely restaurant that has large screens for watching sports games, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It's located at the corner of Gastown, making it easy to find, and the waitstaff are friendly while the food is superb. I highly recommend trying their Nachos!

Nice atmosphere! Great place to have a large group of people. Friendly and fun. Can be noisy when busy. Great service. We had the potato wedges, sooooo good! And the blackened chicken with the snappeas (photo only shows have portion as.we.asked.tge kitchen to split it in 2, which was nice that they did it) also very good! Will have it again!

I had an absolutely brilliant experience at The Local public Eatery in Gas Town, and I'm thrilled to share my review. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the host, and I didn't have to wait at all for a table. The atmosphere was vibrant and positively charged, setting the perfect tone for a fantastic evening. Our server, Jessie, was truly amazing. She was not only friendly and kind, but she also made sure to check in on us regularly without any pressure. Her attentive and genuine approach enhanced our dining experience. We decided to start with some delicious cocktails, which were expertly crafted and thoroughly enjoyed. Alongside our drinks, we ordered share plates of mouthwatering nachos and flavorful chicken wings. The food exceeded our expectations, and each bite was a delightful treat. The entire time spent at The Local was filled with joy and laughter. I had the pleasure of meeting up with an amazing friend, and we had an absolute blast. The overall vibe of the place was incredibly positive, and it was evident that there were many good-hearted people around us. It created an atmosphere where you couldn't help but feel the energy and happiness in the air. I wholeheartedly recommend The Local public Eatery to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. I am already looking forward to my next visit because this place left a lasting impression on me. I want to extend my sincere gratitude and kudos to Jessie, our server, who truly understood the assignment. She was fun, easy to work with, and made our time at The Local even more memorable. Thank you, Jessie, for going above and beyond to make our evening truly special. You are definitely a keeper! In conclusion, The Local public Eatery in Gas Town is a must-visit establishment. With its warm welcome, vibrant atmosphere, delectable food, and exceptional service, it guarantees an unforgettable time. Don't miss out on this gem—I certainly won't!

Great place, very friendly and attentive staff and the best coleslaw I've ever had. Atmosphere inside is great with possibilities for viewing sports too. Outside is comfortable in all weather conditions too, with plenty of heaters. Discovered this place on our second to last day in Vancouver, then went there again on the last day. It was no problem whatsoever to sit outside for hours with all our luggage, as we still wanted to go into the city in our last few hours here. Highly recommended.

Always a solid spot in Gastown with a lovely patio. The gin smasher was super refreshing on a sunny day. I got the burger with fries (it was huge) and my friend got the Thai noodle salad but subbed it with crispy tofu. It was a super filling meal!

We ate at Noon on a Friday in September and it was just starting to get busy. They have a large outdoor eating area and the service was quick. The wife got fish tacos with an upgrade from fries to onion rings. The rings were hot and crispy and made with rings (not minced!). I got the Diablo burger which is a deluxe burger with hot sauce and pickled jalapeño peppers. I really liked the flavor and gentle heat. The French fries were shoestring style and crispy outside but still tender inside. A great meal with lots of “people watching”

Came across Local looking for late evening meal in Gastown. Staff were very friendly and welcoming despite the time. Enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Mixed male female toilets with individual room, I didn't mind personally. I had the Malaysian Curry and peanut butter cup dessert, both amazing 👌. So glad we came across this place, definitely worth a visit.

I like the vibes here! Their foods are great. For shrimp dumplings, the sauce makes it next level! (Good dumpling even for Chinese taste) The fried chicken sauce is bit of Korean style, with pickles without bones. You can’t expect more. 😋 I love the beet hummus even with fries. Personally I like the spritzing image the most! 🤣🤣🤣

I am really surprised by all the positive reviews here after my visit, so I’ll give this another chance if I feel like a gambler! We visited as a small group and got a table pretty quick. Our drinks took a really long time and food even longer. I really liked the way my Blue Crush was decorated and it was alright for the price. However my friend said her Caesar was horrible but we never got service, so she didn’t get a chance to tell the server. I also got a burger which was just alright (sorry, forgot a photo). The server was really nice but at best she was new or forgot about our section. It was also cold and we asked about the heat lamp, but she didn’t know how to turn it on (which is okay, but no one else was sent to help either). Food and drinks is most important in my review, and service can be absent if the food was good - this was not the case. We also waited a really long time for the bill (as in, my ride from south Van was already there waiting when we were still waiting for a server to come by). However, the atmosphere was really amazing and I love the decoration at the front.

Friendly and welcoming staff. There are both outdoor and indoor areas. You can enjoy the music and atmosphere indoors. Due to heaters, the patio was warm even though it was cold outside. Personally, I did not mind the mixed gender toilets because they were clean. It is highly recommended that you try the food there. It was delicious.

This place gets busy during lunch and dinner in the summer and it’s one of my go to lunch spots during work. It’s a laidback environment with a large patio in the middle of Gastown - but hurry because the shaded spots get taken quick. The food here is solid and consistent. We know what we are getting each time we order, a few of my favourites are the dumplings, the fried chicken ramen, as well as the fish taco. Similar style to Cactus Club in food and drinks. They feature a rotating tap menu which gets confusing sometimes because you could be more interested in what’s coming up, but I guess that’s how they keep you coming. Definitely a cool spot to hangout in the summer. I do find that service and food comes faster when you’re seated indoors, so if you don’t get a patio spot, there’s pros to being inside.

Located in the heart of Gastown, this restaurant is a local favorite for post-work chill sessions. The vibrant vibe and expansive patio create a relaxing atmosphere. Don't miss their sour gastwon and spicy martinis, delicious poke bowl, and flavorful chicken curry. It's the go-to spot for a memorable dining experience in Gastown.

Fish and chips I had there was great and the beers there were also good. Seating outside is great, especially during sunny days.

This is a beautiful restaurant with an absolutely amazing patio that's outlooks gas town. They are usually relatively busy so budget your time when you come here. But their kitchen is very very efficient and your food will come out relatively quick. Went there for dinner on Friday night. Let's start with the good. Food was really good. Had the local burger with minor modifications and really enjoyed it. The bad and ugly would have been the service. We had a mail server extremely rude just the way he approached every conversation when we tried to order drinks and or food his attitude was not well received. As we were getting up to leave and saying bye to one another inside the restaurant he got annoyed that we were standing around talking as you were waiting for our server to take our payments. I've been to this location a few times in the past, but it's been quite some time since we've visited again. I really do enjoy the food. I really don't enjoy the service. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon. Considering the amount of options for restaurants within a 5 km radius and you can get much better service elsewhere. As a side note, my friend, noted they only have one vegetarian auction on the menu which I'm pretty sure you can make a lot of things vegetarian. Just taking the protein out of it but as a set menu there's only one vegetarian option.

3 of us dined here on the evening of Canada Day. We came with high expectations after reading the reviews here but we were disappointed. Like most of Gastown, we felt like this turned out to be another tourist trap. The beer battered fish & chips did not seem beer battered at all. In fact, the fish itself was served at a small portion for the price. As per my other 2 companions, both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers here were subpar, maybe mediocre at best. The veggie burger’s patty seemed like it was made out of scrap vegetables mashed together, without any instructions or consistency. However, the sole dish that was the saving grace for our evening were the nachos. As for the $18 fish & chips and burgers that are more than $20, they were all a letdown, especially based on the quality expected with those prices. To sum it up, we only enjoyed the ambience of eating by a patio at Gastown, the attentive service by the server despite the busy crowd and the nachos. Otherwise, I don’t think our dining experience here has anything else that pleased us.

Right in the heart of Gastown, great patio for the summer season! The food was amazing! I ordered the Korean BBQ rice bowl and hands down it is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Great atmosphere, good service and again great location. Would recommend.

I ordered the BROOKLYN BURGER with Sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. Although, every time I sit on the patio, I thoroughly enjoy the Gastown night vibes. I rarely visit this restaurant because it's not pet-free, even for emotional support dogs. 😔

We wandered in here with a couple hours to kill between our hotel checkout and our train back to Washington. Staff was amazing. Put the Winter Classic on when we asked, and were most engaging while we were camping out, enjoying the food and drink. I had a couple 'Spritzing Images' and the Street Curry. Both delicious, and the Curry really hit the spot on a cold day, as did the strong cup of coffee I had during the third period. We were very surprised with the entire atmosphere that this is a franchise, and delighted to hear there is a Seattle location we can check out. But if you happen into Gastown, go say hi to Phil and the wonderful folks at this location. You will be happy you did.

This place need no recommendations. Centrally located with extra amazing staff all the time who are ready to take you in for a joyful fun time. Seating availability can be tricky on the weekends as it gets packed very quick. Wait is worth it though. Interior is great and have high energy vibes. Outside patio is nothing fancy rather just table chairs on the tiled floor outside. Of course there are heaters n it’s not covered from top. Variety of alcohol to try and some mock tails available. Food is quick to be delivered to ur table . Yummy loaded nachos and tofu with rice were too yummy. U could smell the flavours used to cook it.

First time in Gastown so we had lunch at Local Public Eatery. From the moment we walked in we immediately loved the vibe of a low lit and urban ambiance and the hamburgers were awesome! I had the Sangria fusion of red & white wine, agave, gin s and fireball, it was delicious definitely had a kick that was out of this world good! My husband enjoyed some local beers that he loved as well. We would highly recommend this eatery! We also had excellent customer service our server was great, very friendly and checked on us frequently:)

Staff were good accommodating our big group. Service was really good even though the place was packed. Food was surprisingly tasty as we were expecting standard pub fare. Loved the gin refresher which happened to be on special on Saturdays. Other drinks were pretty awesome. Everyone in the group were pretty satisfied with our orders.

I don’t think so this place needs an introduction as it is located in the heart of Gastown, with the biggest patio I have been to in the area. Good food and friendly service. The atmosphere is refreshing and the place is always quite busy. Getting a reservation for weekends would be recommended.

Popular hang about in the famous Gastown, Vancouver, B.C. Great atmosphere & staff. The wings were pretty mediocre. The Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl was delicious & great presentation. Our waitress Lyrica was exceptional with her infectious smile 😊

Local was the perfect spot for afternoon beers and snacks after a full day of touring Vancouver. There was a wonderful mix of tourists like us and locals of all ages enjoying the vibe both indoors and outdoors. Highly recommend!

According to the Local Public Eatery’s website: “At the heart of everything we do is warmth, passion & care. We only settle in neighbourhoods we fall in love with & are admittedly choosy when it comes to clean casual spaces, quality ingredients & genuine hospitality. Our vision tends to be bold & brazen, but our ethos keeps us rooted in what is most important to us – creating unexpectedly memorable experiences for our people & for our neighbours. Laidback, fun vibes are our jam while we strive to never skip a beat with service”. * They are present in 4 cities in Canada and one in the US. ✅ The atmosphere is so warm and friendly especially being located in Gastwon. 🤵‍♀️ The staff behaves professionally and know their job. In general, food quality is good and you can enjoy socializing in LPE. Enjoy!👌

We had a great meal here. Try the nachos - you won't regret it! The fish tacos were also very good, and the guacamole add-on was fantastic.

It was definitely patio weather at 26 degrees, so we sat outside. With twinkly lights and a brick heritage building, nothing can go wrong with this place! We had the wings with blue cheese, blackened chicken sandwich, that crispy chicken sandwich, and icecream sandwich for dessert. The colada crush is sweet and mellow, the right choice for a warm night. The patty of that crispy chicken sandwich could have been a little more spicy, but I loved the fries! They are thin and perfect! The wings are spicy and tangy, just the way they should be. The staff are very welcoming.

They're located on a corner in beautiful Gas town. Weather permitting you can sit outside and enjoy the unique historic feel that this part of downtown Vancouver has to offer. Service staff are very attentive. The food could be better but not too bad. Hence the 4 starts rather than 5. Although it could've just been what I ordered and the heat. Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year here in BC.

Good food, drinks and ok service. It was just slow whenever you had to order something. The Korean bbq bowl is really good!

I loved the blackened chicken burger, and my man enjoyed his burger as well and finally I found another place that serves pickle backs shots (a.k.a bartender's handshake) and the tequila sunrise was delish. 🍹👌Drinks were good, got seated right when we showed up, and the waitress was so nice to us no complaints and highly recommend. 😊👍💙🍺🍔🍟😋👌

We sat on the patio and enjoyed it! Our server was very friendly, and we loved the crispy chicken sandwich and breakfast enchiladas. The fries and garlic mayo were also delicious.

I came here for a weekday dinner with a friend. I've passed by Local several times but this was the first time visiting. The restaurant is surprisingly large inside and the decor is quite nice. The hostess and server were both very friendly and patient while my friend and I made up my mind. We went with some BC craft beers and over the course of a few hours ordered the perogies, the chicken wings and the potato skins. All three items were so delicious! I'm definitely going back for more, and checking out their other locations as well.

A bit busy, so anticipate a wait time before you are seated. But service was amazing and server was happy to ask the kitchen to customize and offer vegan options. Beer was chilled and amazing as expected! My only ask is to have more vegan options on the menu. Maybe a vegan burger too? Would return and recommend!

Great location in the heart of Gastown. We went with a group of friends and the waiter gave us excellent service. The menu is not very diverse but they still have good options for dinning. We had the Tuna Poke Bowl with cauliflower rice and it was great.
