Where do I start. Okay. Ticket is cheap. Mask is highly recommended. You can walk around in half hour. Lots of beautiful flowering plants 🌹 and tropical plants ☘️🌱🌿🌷🌼 and birds! Beautiful colorful birds! 🐦... Amazing place to see! ♥️

Great conservatory!!! There are tons of birds and so much to explore! Absolutely worth checking out. No appointments required and you can purchase ticket right there. No time limit so feel free to explore as long as you want!

Whilst I really enjoyed this indoor tropical garden, I was a little disappointed by the aviary aspect. It was not quite as per advertising - "free flying tropical birds". The tropical birds were in various locations on the one-way route through the lush gardens, and they did not fly - wings clipped? They were beautiful and colourful and lovely to admire, just not how I had imaged the scene. I only spotted a few other birds. I'm not sure where the "over 100 exotic birds" were hiding. The tropical plants in the garden were beautifully landscaped. It was still a worthwhile experience.

Amazing family day trip on a cold winter day. It’s a short walk up a hill from the parking lot to the Conservatory. Unfortunately this visit may not be possible if accessibility is required. Nonetheless, there were a lot of tropical plants and birds and you can walk around as long as you want. We did it 3 times and played eye spy games! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and personally introduced us to some of the birds! We are looking forward to visiting again.

What a gorgeous Conservatory with lush, beautiful plants and birds (under umbrellas!). On the grounds of a city run park with gorgeous views of Vancouver. It's quite warm (needs to be) so maybe leave the coats in the car. There is an entrance fee that was well worth it and it definitely can get a little crowded. Just be advised if you get claustrophobic. There are several beautiful waterfalls and stories tall plants to grab your attention. Small birds and parrots call this home and was neat seeing the different species. It runs in a loop and worth going through it twice. Definitely recommend!

What an absolute delight! My only regret is that I've lived in the Lower Mainland my whole life but have never been here until now! This place would still be a great deal at double (or triple!) the price of admission. Free ranging birds everywhere, gorgeous lush plants, and it's clearly exceptionally well-taken-care-of. We'll definitely be back!

Perfect for a rainy day. Walk in a circle in one direction around the inside of the dome. A number of parrot stops to observe birds. Also see finches and a few larger birds on trees and on the ground under plants. (look down!) Beautiful and well taken care of tropical plants with labels (i didnt even know snake plant flowered! And i love shrimp plant flowers) Plenty of walking space. Bathrooms inside (and public bathrooms just outside). They have a list of birds and plants to look activity.

You have to visit this place even once but for us, once wasn't enough because we love this cool nice place with a lot of cute beautiful birds so we'll go back again. We had such a great time! All the staffs were so nice, always smiled and took good care of the place. Lots of plants and flowers which same as we had back home in Thailand made me smiled and missed home in the same time. Not too big so you can walk around many times as you like. The whole time we walked, we always saw more and more birds shown up, so beautiful so takes time to enjoy inside, do not rush then you will have a great time just like us. Beautiful fountain outside and beautiful park plus a nice restaurant right beside with a big parking lot so see you again soon.. Ps: clean washroom inside the dome and also outside

My last visit was in May 2022. Those beautiful tropical birds were no longer there. or very few to spot. My photos below were taken before the pandemic around 2012-2018. 5 stars before. 3 stars now. I may go visit soon anyways.

Great place to visit. I just wish it was bigger. Lots of birds in easy view for kids and more birds flying around to keep an eye out for. I died a little when I saw all the bromeliads that are growing there. Great view over looking the city and mountains from outside the conservatory as well. Friendly and helpful staff to!

Definitely worth a visit. Beautifully located on top of a hill in a city park, Queen Elizabeth Park. Free street parking was available along with paid parking spaces. Although, Birds wings were clipped, they were still fun to watch.

Small but phenomenal. The 45 minute time slots are the perfect length of time to slowly walk around about 2-3 times. Great for plant and bird lovers. Great spot to forget about the rainy days and to appreciate the thoughts of summer. Very reasonably priced, and a great way to avoid crowds and get some safe time out of the house. Wonderful for kids and adults alike.

Loved visiting here! We could have stayed much longer than the allotted time, but we enjoyed each minute there! The birds were incredible, it was fun that they provided a checklist of information for spotting the birds, and the plants were incredible and nicely labeled. Would recommend and go again!

I loved this conservatory. Interesting plants, fascinating birds, and places to sit to enjoy the space. Also some koi in the conservatory ponds. A wonderful break from the snow and cold when we were in Vancouver. The grounds around the conservatory were also well worth seeing. This is a former quarry, so there is nice landscaping around and some great views.

The bamboo bridge was under construction when I went with my girlfriend but we still had a great time. While it is a small conservatory there is still lots of birds and vegetation to see and read about. The gardens inside are beautiful and some of the birds are real loud.

Cozy and warm experience during the winter, under a modern dome with a variety of beautiful birds and tropical plants. The decor inside is lovely and the birds seem well taken care of. Affordable price, <$8 for adults. Nice to come with friends, family, or a date. ;) You can spend about an hour here. Definitely recommend! Would come back again.

A great place to stop by on a cold winter day. But make sure it's not the only activity you have planned for that day because the conservatory isn't that big. However, you can spend a good hour or two walking around Queen Elizabeth Quarry Gardens outside. The conservatory isn't that big, but it has a good number of cool tropical plants and birds. The weaver bird nests were pretty cool. If you take your time observing your surroundings and really paying attention to everything, then you can spend a good hour or so. If you just walk through, then you'll be in and out in less than 15 minutes.

A wonderful place to get away from the city for an hour or so. There are lots of lovely tropical plants from around the world as well as a number of exotic birds that have been donated or rescued. If you're lucky you'll see them getting fed. There's also a surprising number of mice scampering around the place. It does get busy, so check for quieter times to get the most out of it.

You can feel the fantastic beauty with the cheap admission fee. It's a small space. We visited on a sunny day and we had a beautiful family photo.👍 It's free for kids who are 4 years old or under. No $100 or $50 bills!!

This is a perfect place to visit for a scenic walk during the fall. The grounds are beautifully managed and the conservatory is filled with magnificent birds and wildlife. The conservatory itself can be explored in 30 minutes, and then you can choose your pace for the trails and public artworks available on the grounds.

One of our favourite spots in the city. An urban oasis. My 4 yr old loves to find all the birds on the checklist every time. Beautifully maintained and friendly staff. Great place rain or shine. Also a lovely place for my elderly parents to take my son, close proximity to parking, admission is economical and not a huge place so won't get tired. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy inside. Even with the new time limits, lots of time to look around a few times! Gorgeous place.

Great selections of tropical and semi-tropical plants. Wish they have more rarer plants in collection. There are some different species of birds as well that young children will enjoy. Tour will will take at least 30-45 minutes to be able to see the whole place. Entrance fee is affordable bit makes sure u have booked ahead for reservation time slot. Visit their website for booking.

Beautiful place to visit on a rainy day. Such a variety of plants and birds. Staff has done an amazing job in making this place feel like home 🏡. Every visitor learns a story if each large bird, knows it's age, it's name, it's personality. I am sure we will come back here again ♥️

I walked into the park from the north. Once I got thru the very well taken care of paths and through these gardens which they've planted plants from other parts of the earth. The conservatory from outside at 2:30am looks intimidating its a large dome with triangle shaped glass put together like the science world downtown Is. Anyway this park is a beautiful surprise I've found this early morning I recommend coming here late if you like to be alone with time to think or work things out in the mind something like when you used to have to defragment the old school computers. I feel charged up and the brain tune up is just what the doctor ordered.

Timed entry and a one way path make for an orderly path around the conservatory without navigating through a big crowd. 20 minutes is all the time you get but it's enough and the price is very reasonable to visit. The birds (many of the parrots talk!) and flowers were gorgeous and the corpse flower was really neat! It's a beautiful tropical paradise!

A great fun place for the family! I found is very interesting and probably was more interested than my toddler. The birds are all very beautiful. It's very easy to book online for a spot to visit, I booked maybe 3 days in advance and it was fine but when we got there they said they had no more spots for the day so try to plan ahead if possible!

The birds and animals really steal the show but the Conservatory is amazing and filled with beautiful flowers. The restrooms are clean and the entry price will fit most everyone's budget. We really enjoyed this attraction and would go again on a future visit. There are many birds hidden so you have to be keen eyed. We saw a golden pheasant tucked away on the ground. We loved the trex with purple fingernails.

Very small but absolutely gorgeous place to visit. It takes about 30 minutes to walk through, just take the time to enjoy all the species of plants and the birds. I went through a second time just to read all the plant signs. It's a nice inexpensive way to spend the afternoon, and Queen Elizabeth Park outside is nice to walk around afterwards.

I have been to Bloedel Conservatory many times over the years, but I was blown away by our visit today! It was like an oasis seeing all the birds and the diversity of flowers they currently have blooming. We will definitely be visiting again in the spring. The orchids were absolutely stunning.

This is a wonderful dome shaped conservatory/Bird park with lots of birds and plants. The birds fly around freely and are not afraid of humans, sometimes flying and even walking very close to you. They even provide you with a pamphlet at the entrance with all the birds and their pictures on them. It's a wonderful experience, a must see and a nice place to for parents/grandparents to take their children/grandchildren. Would definitely go again!

Great escape when the Vancouver weather is blustery, cold or wet. If you love birds, tropical plants and humidity then visit. Covid protocols are in place so you have to book an online spot in advance. We did it last minute and it worked out well for us. Tix are inexpensive. So go!

I went there 2 yrs ago and last weekend we decided to go there again with our baby boy. Still good place to go but I was very impressed with so many rats around. I didn’t see that 2 yrs ago. Maybe they just need to be careful since rats reproduce very fast ....

For a very reasonable price, you can step inside a mini tropical rainforest! Lots of educational signs about the plants inside, though the guide to the free flying birds never seems to cover all of them. None the less, it's an absolute gem in Vancouver, especially when the weather outside gets cold! My only complaint is that the stationary parrots never seem to have many (if any!) enrichment items.

Nice side trip for an hour to enjoy some cool plants and birds. Ended up coming here and then taking a walk around the paths outside and around the park. When I went you have to book your tickets online, and you have an hour to go around the dome which only takes about 30 minutes if you take pictures and your time.

  • 4/5 Durga K. 2 years ago on Google
A slice of the tropics! The conservatory is home to many tropical plants and lovely birds that make for a unique experience. Pre-purchase of tickets is required, and timed entry makes the experience comfortable. One hour is ideal for the main conservatory section with tropical plants and birds, and the surrounding area is great for walks, photoshoots and promenade. Needless to say, dogs are not allowed inside the dome, but the area in general is great for taking your dog on a long walk. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and I would go there again. My only pet peeve was the giant replicas of the corpse flower in the conservatory. I know it is an interesting fact that the flower blooms every 10 years and recently it was in bloom; but I wouldn't want to have giant flower replica inside the conservatory dome juxtaposed with other beautiful real plants that I am looking at, and the birds that I am trying to locate through the thickets! All in all, a great experience :)

The Bloedel Conservatory An excellent place to go to and enjoy all types of plant life, several species of birds and some Koi fish. Best to walk-through at least twice to spot the tiny birds fluttering about and the ones hanging out in the green foliage. There are some benches inside so you may sit and enjoy the beauty of nature. Outside are several benches along the stone wall so you can sit and enjoy the view of Vancouver below.

Really like this place - lots of friendly birds who will interact with you. Kramer waved goodbye to us! It's pretty small, though, and hard to spend more than an hour here. Luckily there is the whole rest of Queen Elizabeth Park right outside. Admission as of today is $7.20. That said, we came here for a wedding, and the host rented it for only $600 through ParksBC. It wasn't the quietest wedding ever (couldn't hear a thing tbh), but it sure was memorable!

Have you ever seen a small bird besides hummingbird? I just saw the smallest beautiful bird that it was not a hummingbird!🐦you can also find macaws, parrots, and some other kinds of birds.. Full of tropical plants and beautiful flowers..you can walk around in half hour to admire the plants and the birds..

This is a very cool place, I'm so glad I went! Lots of tropical birds and plants so see. I think the ticket price was $7.50 at the time I went, so completely affordable. The place is small and can get quite busy, but they have everyone walking around the conservatory one-way so it's a bit more organized and doesn't seem so bad.

  • 4/5 Doreen T. 1 year ago on Google
It was very small. Had quite a few birds in there but the varieties of flowers seemed rather limited. There were rats cohabiting with the parrots though. Scared the heck outta my sis. Nonetheless it was a good effort. For C$7.20 per adult, it was not too expensive. You'd probably finish walking the whole place in about 30 mins.

Really like their Christmas events. Hope they will decorate the garden with many colorful lights, along with birds flying all over again. There's always signs, that say "Don't Cross The Line" - Hard to take beautiful close up pics. Taking pics is hard in general anyways, cause it is very crowded with lots of people in here all the time. Many people like to see, nice attractions and spend the day with family and friends here. It's better to carpool or take transit, cause of limited parking spaces, overall this place is a good choice.

  • 5/5 Asiyah A. 1 year ago on Google
This place was really nice, it is located in queen Elizabeth park. You can see many tropical plants and birds there. We got a paper where we had to spot the different plants and birds. Everything is labelled so it's nice because not everyone knows what kind of plant or bird it is. We went for a walk in the work too, it was wet because it had rained earlier but it was really nicely done. There was a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the queen. We were part of the ceremony, it was nice. I would really recommend that you go atleast once. The indoor area is flat so wheelchair accessible. There isn't a playground for kids to play in. In the summer u can always take your picnic mat and just sit on the grass and have a picnic, we went when it was rainy so it was quite wet.

  • 5/5 Heather C. 1 year ago on Google
The BEST conservatory I’ve ever visited!! The plant life is stunning and the BIRDS! at least 10 different varieties are flying around, with a few cockatoos and macaws in their own exhibit areas. The coy pond is beautiful too with a lovely waterfall feature. Look out for the mice who have taken advantage of the free birdseed on the ground. A cute, though unwelcome addition. This is a must visit place when in Vancouver!

It's very warm inside, I think around 22-23 degrees. So you may have to take off your coat. :) It's not a huge place, but there are still lots of different tropical plants. I think the best part is the birds. Especially cockatoos are very cute and funny. You will be surprised to learn how old some birds are!

They have a good amount of plants and birds at the Bloedel Conservatory. We easily spent more than an hour walking around and enjoying the birds and the garden. This isn't a huge place so if you walk through it quickly without appreciating the plants and birds, you'd be done in like 10 minutes and feel like the $8 admission is not worth it. However, this is a great place to experience and spend an afternoon in the park. We saw the birds doing a lot of activity and getting fed as well which was thoroughly entertaining. One white colored bird kept saying "Bye Bye" to everyone packing by and it was so funny and memorable!

This conservatory is colorful, has a wide variety of plants, and includes exotic birds. Admission is reasonable. Be sure to bring your camera to take home some memories. I wish there were more places to sit and just take it in. I recommend parking on the street where there is no charge rather than the parking lots where there is a charge.

Inside is pretty small and humid. You can probably walk around in 20 minutes, but I recommend you take your time to see the exotic plants and animals. The birds are beautiful, and a lot of them are older than me! Outside the conservatory is super nice too. A great place to walk around, but do get a ticket to enter the conservatory if you're walking by because the prices are superb in comparison to other attractions Vancouver is more known for.

A beautiful oasis in the heart of Vancouver! Gorgeous views inside and out. The conservatory is full of stunning plants, trees, and exotic birds. Extremely well kept, and staff is very friendly and informative. Highly recommend a visit to anyone visiting our beautiful city ❤️

This is a wonderful conservatory, though it is on the small side. Along with beautiful lush plants there are exotic birds that are free to fly about. Bring your camera for the perfects pictures which are around every corner.

If you like tropical/subtropical plants & parrots in a large domed environment, you'll probably enjoy the Bloedel Conservatory. The tickets are cheap, and my group spent maybe 30 minutes or less walking in a big circle admiring the well-manicured tropical plants and the colorful parrots. Would I visit again? No, once is enough. But you might appreciate it more than I did. (P.S. I LOVE plants, but I grow & see these exact same subtropical specimens back in Florida where I live; hence, my ennui.) // P.S. Once inside, be sure to look up at the glass dome. It's an architectural treat.

Pretty steady rain that day so we didn't walk the outdoor gardens. Were lovely, sorry to miss. There is a large dome that has tropical plants and birds that is amazing. Wonderful photo ops.

Fun place to visit for all ages, tickets are $7 which is great. It's not too big inside but still worth the visit and price. A variety of birds and very clean inside. Inside attraction so even if it's raining you can still enjoy

There are so many amazing plants and birds to see. It took us about 45 min to go through. It's at your own pace, so take your time and enjoy all the different varieties of vegetation. Check out the beautiful birds and snap some beautiful pictures. Peaceful and inexpensive for the whole family!

Absolutely stunning scenery. The plants and birds were so amazing. Because it's a fairly small area, we took another walk around after taking tons of photos to fully appreciate everything this experience had to offer. After appreciating everything inside, there's so much more to experience and appreciate on the walking trails outside of the conservatory. The pricing is affordable and makes for a great afternoon!

A neat conservatory beside some of the best views in South Vancouver. The time it takes to see all the birds is minimal. You can do the entire path in under 10 minutes and have seen it all. Because of this (and how overcrowded it was on a Saturday afternoon) I could only give four stars. All that said, I'm glad we brought our two year old. She loved seeing the birds and large fish.

Bloedel Conservatory is the most interesting and beautiful conservatory that I've visited. The shape of the conservatory is quite spectacular. A large geodesic dome that appears to have an exceptionally high crown once you are within it. Trees, plants and vines stretch towards the top, and a wide variety of birds flit and chirp throughout the space, making you feel as though you are within a tropical forest. The plants are well cared for and I appreciated the detailed labelling. However I most enjoyed taking the time to try and find each of the many species of birds that live within the dome. There is a QR code behind the ticket counter that can be scanned to see the full list of birds within the conservatory.

Beautiful conservatory! Take your time because it's a short walk on the inside, but you can easily be there for 20-30 minutes if you soak it up and don't rush. Loved all the colourful plants.

This is a beautiful must-see place for those of you that love nature, flowers, birds, and trees. This was my first visit and will probably be my only visit and I’m glad I made it here. I have never been to Vancouver before and don’t expect to come back any time soon. The place has a suggested donation of $7 (Canadian) pp. Parkibg is located down the hill and it is a bit of a hike uphill but good exercise. The staff is helpful and friendly. After your visit to this botanical wonder you can step outside and get some lovely pictures of the surrounding city and there are some fun statues. Also, if you don’t have a car you can get here by sky train and bus routes. Do your homework! LOL

A cool breeze on a hot day. This place is an oasis of tropical birds and plants. The sounds is like a sound scape. Everything is beautiful and interesting. The only problem is that there are now mice. They came in a few years ago during construction.

Warm and humid and the trail is short but you can go around as many times as you want and if you want to come back later (same day), ask for a handstamp. The gift shop was disappointing, I wish there had more bird stuff and/or postcards. Yes the parrots and macaws don't move much but keep your eyes open, there are more birds inside than those. And enjoy the easter eggs like the plastic dinosaurs. I don't know how many there are but I found 2.

Very beautiful and so much to see. We weren't expecting our experience to be as great as it was, especially for about $8 per adult. So many beautiful birds and plants to see, as well as a Koi pond. We did not have kids with us and spent about 45 minutes in there!

Wonderful experience for a budget friendly price! One of the guides gave us a bit of history of the building and birds and spoke about the variety of species housed and grown in the conservatory. She even gave us tips to interact with the birds. The conservatory was a great oasis in a cool, chilly autumn day.

Way better then expected! For only around 8$ a person it was a great time! Loads of lables for trees and plants. Awesomes Koi pond and beautiful birds. We thought it would take no time at all, but we found ourselfs spending around 40mins-1hr in here. The view of the surrounding area from just outside the door is also amazing!

A wonderful conservatory with lots of exotic birds (surprisingly which were quite old in age). We went on a weekday and it wasn’t crowded even though the trek thru the Queen Elizabeth Park was a tad tiring. Definitely would bring children here and with some birds you can take pictures too (with the supervision of the staff).

If you’re planning to visit Vancouver, this place (along with Queen Elizabeth Park) needs to be on your list! Although it was smaller than I expected, it was very beautiful with different types of plants and birds that are perfect for photo ops. There was a beautiful koi pond as well. Tickets were also reasonably priced.

Loved visiting it! The plants were so pretty and the birds looked so cool. It was a great date for my husband and me when visiting Vancouver. It was pretty cheap too at $8.50 a ticket.
