2 small levels of excellent west coast indigenous art - paintings, sculpture, jewellery, craft - centred around legendary artist Bill Reid but also including other masters. Nice gift shop. Hosts many events (Heart of the City, craft market, talks...)

Welcome to the West Coast! It is hard to express the significance Bill Reid has had on West Coast culture. After working with the CBC he discovered his talent for Haida and other forms of art. This museum is not only a tribute to him but his indigenous peers and modernists. This is a must for locals as well as tourists who are interested in art and culture that is truly West Coast and profoundly tied to the land.

Go visit. Terrific gallery, collection and curation. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. My photos don’t do it justice.

Beautiful, tastefully designed gallery. Take time to enjoy the art and the mythology it reflects. The sculptures in stone and wood stand out. And the gold jewelry is spectacular and a surprise, as I didn't know about these pieces. Well worth the $13 for an adult ticket. A nice gift shop concludes your visit.

The art gallery is very nice! You get to know Bill Reid various artworks and the fact that the museum is not too big, you have time in one visit to read and understand about historical facts and all the intricate details of every art and its contexts. Highly recommended!

I warmed to this gallery. First impression was that it was relatively small, but it was packed with a fascinating insight into Bill Reid and First Nation heritage. The gift shop is also excellent and very reasonably priced (in contrast to many others), with a great selection of local art and craft. With the Museum of Anthropology closed at the moment, this is a very worthwhile alternative.

Been here before 5 or 6 years ago. Display has changed but is still very interesting. Bill Reid is a very interesting person and still has an influence on the art world.

Thank you for hosting our school trip from South Hill Education Centre. Many of my students are from different cultures and countries. They enjoyed learning about Bill Reid, his artistic journey, and Haida culture and art. The gallery is beautifully laid out, and there are other exhibits from artists who are influenced by Reid's work. Our wonderful tour guide, Sara, (and Toonasa in the summer) taught us so much!

Take a short break from the city to visit this small gallery. Relax and enjoy the experience. An oasis of calm in the heart of the downtown area. The exhibits are beautiful

Highly informative and visually stunning museum. The two exhibitions that are on display until mid-March tell a story about the immense efforts of yesteryear that have made it possible for the Indigenous art of today, as the upstairs exhibit focuses on language preservation through recording languages on records, and the downstairs focuses on contemporary Indigenous art. For the Bill Reid works, absolutely take the time to work through the smaller pieces that are on display - though all of his pieces are equally worth your time!

A very unique and interesting, yet informative experience about the culture and impact on Bill Reids work and life. Worth a visit and just have a read inside

This year would be Bill Reid's 100 birthday if he was alive. My mom was visiting from Kelowna and we took her to the Bill Reid Gallery since she is such a big fan of his works. It was beautiful, some of the artwork was breathtaking. There was a wall with pictures of his life and people in his life, it was very informative. His works were tastefully displayed as well as works from other Haida artists. This gallery is a great place to take visitors as well as one to explore on your own. I highly recommend this gallery.

A powerful experience, and well worth the visit. There are free hours on some Fridays between 2-5pm! The gift shop is very much worth a look as they have many beautiful things made by local Indigenous artists.

Great gallery of his different works and stories behind them. It was also a good to see that the gallery also showcased other artists for the indigenous people and their communities. Easy spot to get to right in the heart of the city. He was a master of the art mediums that he worked with. Glad we visited while we were in Vancouver.

So many marvels, magic, tradition and culture in this tiny but beautiful museum! Bill Reid's pieces are inspiring. The beauty of the building creates a peaceful atmosphere and is invitation to reflexion. I had a very sweet chatter with the front desk ladies, they know a lot about indigenous cultures and arts.

If you're interested about indigenous peoples art and culture then this is one place you should never miss. Bill Reid is a genius and his works speak for itself. Though the gallery is small it accounts and important part of the Haida art and culture. Which video installations it is so interesting to learn about the culture particularly the title culture witches very much connected to their ancestral roots. A must visit if you're interested in art.

Stopped by on a whim as we headed for the Vancouver Art Gallery and absolutely fell in love. This is an amazing space with a thoughtfully curated collection. Such a wonderful celebration of first peoples art and culture. Definitely worth a stop for art lovers and educators - the lovely folks at the gallery provide some great educational resources both in-person and online.

Amazing little gallery featuring the art work of world renowned artist Bill Reid and other coastal first nations. Great gift shop with mostly Haida art and gifts. Very calm atmosphere and great displays. They have many events planned at the gallery and would be an amazing venue for a wedding or party.

I recently visited the Bill Reid Gallery and had a fantastic experience! The gallery is a true gem in the heart of Vancouver, showcasing the incredible artistry of Bill Reid and indigenous contemporary artists. The exhibits were not only visually beautiful but also provided insights into the rich history and heritage of the Northwest Coast First Nations. The staff was very friendly as well. The layout and organization of the gallery were well done, allowing for an immersive and educational experience. I highly recommend visiting the Bill Reid Gallery for anyone interested in art, culture, or history. It's a must-see attraction in Vancouver that deserves five stars!

Even though they say they are not quite finished setting up the exhibits there is a lot to see. This was our first visit but I have a feeling we may well return. Reid was an amazing talent. I was amazed by one of his earliest works: a miniature tea set made from a stick of chalk and nail varnish. When I go to stay with people in other places I buy a Bill Reid framed image as a hostess gift. I also have some at home now. I wish I had been given one of the $20 bills when they came out but I suspect they all went to collectors. There are also works by other FN artists and of course visiting exhibitions. When you are in Vancouver this has to be on your list of places to visit. The staff are charming.

Amazing gallery showcasing the art of Bill Reid. Check out his carvings ranging from the chalk stick tea set, carved from a stick of chalk, to the massive stone and wooden structures, by way of gold and silver jewelry and drawings. Then go to UBC to the Museum of Anthropology and see the massive stone carving there, and you'll recognise it from the test pieces in this gallery. At the airport you'll also see a huge work by Bill Reid.

In the busy business of Vancouver, you have to come here , to get the best from one of best collections of indigenous art from the region. A beautiful park greets you, as you walk up to the entrance. Take the time to take in all of the work.

This man has always fascinated me, and I've collected him for over a decade. Finally I was able to travel & visit his gallery. Amazing ! So diverse and well laid out. My only complaint is it's too small. I studied each item & finished it all in 3 hours. Recommended!
