The best place to enjoy if the Sun is out. Always a bit crowded though. Finding parking could be a challenge. But the view of the sunset, Granville market, nearby eating joints and fresh air make the visit worthwhile every time.

One of my favourite places in town for walk, watching sunset or even some activity in a crazy snowy day. Sunset beach never disappoints me with its beauty.

Really nice park to have a walk. Although you can smell weed when walking past certain parts of the park.

One of the best places to watch the sunset, this side of the beach also has the restrooms and is much quieter than English Bay side. Walking along the water is very beautiful and the seawall will keep going

In the summer we have Bard on the Beach across from Sunset Beach at Vainer Park and now we have Barge on the Beach here in our back yard ! It is a huge draw as well as the occasional boat that gets blown ashore. Maybe we should petition for them to remain ? Beautiful well maintained public beach with great fast food takeout (try their great burgers) and washrooms in the same building next to the lifeguards station. It was very exciting during the storm the other day watching the barge slowly come to a halt wedging itself in between and on the rocks on that small patch of sand as well as the sailboat making a soft landing on the beach. It was lucky it just missed the rocks. About 10 days ago the Coast Guard rescued that same boat and kept it from being blown ashore. Too bad they were not able to properly secure its anchorage in the bay. It’s going to be a few days yet before we get the 4.5 meter high tide. That goes for the barge also. A small tug tried to pull it out but it was only a 4.2 m tide with no big waves and no storm surge. Maybe with a larger tug and removing some of the rocks blocking it ? In any case good luck ! Update for Dec. 8/21. This morning there is a new development. A pile driver barge and a tug are jockeying for position in the bouncy, windy conditions. Guess they want to open up a passage area. Yesterday the beached green sailboat was re-floated during the King tide. It’s now just West of the Cambi bridge now. That was a false alarm re the pile driver barge. I guess it was just waiting for the wind to calm down a bit before going on to its next job. Well well well, you could tickle me with a feather! Our pile driver number 5 is back ! I guess it just wasn’t happy with the wind and wave earlier but now it’s in position and doing whatever it’s going to do to give our “barge on the beach” it’s freedom. And our other favourite green boat has dragged anchor again or been moved right near Spyglass dock. Wow ! Never a dull moment !

Nice on a sunny day. Not much of a park mostly grass with washrooms and sometimes open concession stand. Now we have homeless camps and litter everywhere. Nice fall colours but always construction and mud

I came at 5.30 pm and few people were there. At 6.30 pm the crowd started to appear and hundred of runners, bikers and pedestrians decorated the place under the light of the dusk. It is a place where you can enjoy your beverage, coming with your couple or roomate to celebrate the end of the day. The water is clear and sand with no garbage.

Nice clean beach, lots of places to sit, walk, play beach side. You can take your dog for a walk. People sometimes don't even bother to clean their dog's poo, that's quite sad.

The park is great, the location is amazing to watch the sunsets. They have bathrooms there so is a good place to spent the day and have this facility really close. Another good thing about this park is that you can cross direct to Granville from here so you can enjoy the day in both places. I highly recommend taking a walk on this beautiful park.

This is a quiet happy place in Vancouver. I've visited à feu weeks ago and was enchanted by its beautiful sand beaches. It is surrounded by trees and you can enjoy the company of many ducks and goose. Unfortunately also a lot of noisy crows around but the place is still pretty peaceful.

Easy track around False Creek. Curiousities everywhere and so much going on. Taking the little seabus ferry to Sunset Beach is the best part.

Beautiful beach. This is the beach you want to be. Clean and not super crowded. Only downside they do not have public toilet nearby. Thank if you are thinking of changing to your bathing suit good luck there is none. You will have to walk up-to English bay

Take away the constant stench of weed; this would be a five-star view at sunset. Don't forget to stay for Blue Hour. Pro tip: bring a real camera and a tripod.

Beautiful little beach on the south side of downtown, aptly named as it is a great spot to watch the sunset, weird, right? Close to things but far enough away it can be peaceful sometimes.

Sunset beach is definitely somewhere to visit casually. Considering it's proximity to the city, it's oddly calm and relaxing especially in the evening. Be prepared to see a breathtaking display of light as the sun dips below the horizon. There's a reason why it's called Sunset beach. 🏖 🌅 ✌️

Nice and clean beach to visit. The location and park are amazing to watch. Finding car parking could be a challenge and the place is always a bit crowded. Near to Granville. Recommended this place to enjoy with friends and family for a beautiful walk along the beach

nice lil beach! it's always kind of busy but luckily there's the whole ocean right in front of you and you can get in that! there's also usually some people selling snacks so that's good. finding parking is a nightmare. the only downfall is probably the sand demon that claws its way to the surface each night to eat seagulls and make necklaces out of their bones.

I was stressed from work and life, then this beach gave me a refreshment, I couldn't stop smile for some reasons. People are playing volleyball on the beach, dogs are running around, fresh sea breeze take you to somewhere peaceful. Have a sip of hot chocolate or buy yourself some flowers, this is a great dating spot or just a long walk for yourself. Go there and forget about what's on your mind for a while.

Beach has a great view. Separate paths for cycling and walking. Parking lots with options for electric charging as well, but usually gets filled very fast. And yes the sunset is beautiful!

Ahh! Summer in Vancouver! Beautiful beaches and swimming in the ocean as well as lots of other water activities. Life guards during certain hours, concession stand, and public washrooms. And the seawall for running, cycling, blading, etc!

Our walk today took us from our starting point near the Burrard Bridge and the Vancouver Aquatic Centre to the Bidwell Street and Beach Avenue location.. what a delight to stroll the very wide Seaside English Bay pathway , sometimes walking along the sandy beaches with the beautiful views of Vanier Park across False Creek to the south and downtown Vancouver to the north and Stanley Park to the west..along the pathway there are public washrooms and beach area food concessions available.. the Seawall bike-route parallels the walking pathway…notable sculptures along the way are the Engagement and Arc 13 metal ribs at the beach sculptures…

One of the best places to view the sunset in the city, along with being a popular beach/park. It is a great spot to unwind and do beach or water activities in the downtown area. Parking may be limited so it is recommended to come by transit/bike or on foot.

Sunset Beach Park, located in the heart of Vancouver, Canada, is a picturesque waterfront oasis that offers visitors a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This beautiful park is famed for its breathtaking sunsets, which paint the sky in vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple, providing a stunning backdrop against the calm waters of English Bay. One of the park's most appealing features is its expansive sandy beach, which is perfect for sunbathing, picnics, and leisurely strolls. The clean, well-maintained sands, coupled with the gentle lapping of the waves, create a tranquil environment for relaxation and contemplation.

Sunset Beach and English Bay have gorgeous sunsets throughout the year. Currently (March) it’s not very busy though with many (dog) walkers, joggers, couples and families.

  • 5/5 Dylan W. 4 months ago on Google • 3 reviews
The main attraction is, without a doubt, the magnificent sunsets that paint the sky in a kaleidoscope of colors each evening. The beach itself is well-maintained with soft, golden sand, ideal for leisurely strolls or relaxing sunbathing sessions. The park also features well-kept picnic areas, making it perfect for family outings or romantic picnics. One minor drawback is the limited parking space, which can be challenging during peak hours.

Now dance the lights on lawn and lea, The flocks are whiter down the vale, And milkier every milky sail On winding stream or distant sea; Where now the seamew pipes, or dives In yonder greening gleam, and fly The happy birds, that change their sky To build and brood; that live their lives From land to land…

Lovely beach which is very accessible and easy to get too. Clean and very sandy. We enjoyed the recent fireworks competition by Australia at the beach.

The tides seem lower than usual but it was such a relaxing place to sit on a log and rest. The runners and bikers are passing by and it can be a little crowded during summer times.

Very nice spot to go and have a relaxing time by the ocean, to read a book, have a picnic, get into skating, or just walk by. The only problem is there is trash from time to time.

  • 5/5 Carolin C. 9 months ago on Google
This location is an ideal spot to catch a mesmerizing sunset, thanks to its seamless blend of stunning vistas such as distant mountains, a bustling harbor, a beautiful beach, and a vibrant city skyline.

Its not all about the Sun & Sand here. Lol. Great hill here for the kids to go Toboggan & GT Racer Sliding when we do get the little bits of odd snow on the ground in Vancouver.

Wonderful beach! Amazing show of Symphony at Sunset. Symphony at Sunset Beach is an unforgettable free event that highlights the summer season. Music, from Star Wars to Jurassic Park. The only one minuse: crazy amount of people. I'm curious how it was possible to manage such amount of people.

  • 5/5 Aylar A. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely, clean, and with beautiful views. There are also lots of babies, puppies, and lovely families there. So, as it gets so crowded, it's not the best place to relax, but it's perfect for walking, running, biking, swimming, and other fun water activities.

  • 5/5 June T. 11 months ago on Google
It is such a big beautiful place. The sand, the views, the nearby restaurants. It's a good place for families to picnic. There is also a pedestrian only path great for jogging down and bike lanes.

Visiting Vancouver from Seattle. What a gem of a place to watch sunset! Highly recommend. It’s walking distance from many hotels on Granville. Must check it out!

One of our favourite beaches/green spaces in this city for an evening picnic, watching the sunset and even tobaganning in the winter time if we have had enough snow!

  • 5/5 Heather A A. 1 year ago on Google
This is a really great beach. It brings home this European sense of ease and openness. And it’s right in the city! The views are lovely Tho I do wish there were less shipping barges on the water. There is a lot of room to chill on a blanket on the sand, the lawn, or the big beautiful pieces of driftwood that float in. There are restaurants and bars near by adding to the fun and flair of this area especially on a sunny day.

  • 5/5 Henry C. 1 year ago on Google
It’s the best city park to watch sunset, absolutely mesmerizing! Picnic, BBQ, chilling, bring you family/friends/kids/dogs to play on the big lawn area! It’s also highly recommended to go down to the beach near the Sea Wall to shoot beautiful sunset portraits!
