In the past few months, I have been noticing a slow deterioration of the level of cleanliness at this location. What prompted me to write this negative review is the most recent experience / observation at the gym: 1. There’s a thick layer of dust in low traffic areas, under the equipment and storage racks. 2. Putting dumbbells on the floor between sets results in dust particles falling when dumbbells are lifted overhead. 3. As I was cleaning a foam roller with provided wipes, I got something under my skin (most likely a piece of glass). 48 hours later, I still feel the pain in my hand and will seek medical attention. I contacted the gym by email 1 hour after the incident but did not even receive an apology. Instead, I was told they appreciated my feedback. Besides the appreciation for my “feedback” and after an email exchange with a person who didn’t bother to give me their name, I was made aware, implicitly and explicitly, of the following: 1. My complaint will not be brought up to the higher authority. 2. They have cleaners every night and morning, which makes me a LIAR. Go to this gym/location at your own risk with minimal expectations. P.S. keep in mind there’s an extra fee of $39.99 (annual fee, a.k.a. enhancement fee) known to you only at the moment of signing a gym agreement; this is not posted on the website for prospective clients. The fee will be charged in the first week of May, each year.

WARNING! Do NOT sign up to this gym. Even though I've cancelled and/or change time well before the 2 hour window, Club 16 continues to charge my credit the $10.50 penalty. When I sent an email to inquire, there was a string of confusing emails which yielded no real response. They didn't own up to the mistakes their online booking system is making, even though I had all the proof necessary to back up that I had checked in on time and paid for parking. This gym is a total and complete scam. Staff are rude. And I have never seen any staff cleaning or sanitizing any of the equipment. To all, watch your credit card / bank statements carefully - especially if you have had to change times or cancelled. Club 16 will charge you the $10.00 penalty (plus a $.50 service charge), even if your made changes in accordance with their policy. Club 16 needs to manage their billings / accounting better if they want to maintain clients trust. Better yet. I hope the go under just like Steve Nash did. Maybe someone with an understanding of how to build a proper app and listen to the client base when issues are raised. Also, gotta love that the only time they respond to a review when it's positive. Says a lot about the gym, the management, and the staff. *** i followed up again with Trevor linden club 16 after this posting and there has been no resolution. Their response to this review was strictly to try and save face. Run fast and far from this gym. The price might be enticing, but all the extra charges I have accrued due to their negligence has equaled more than what I would have paid for a middle price gym membership. Not to mention all the time and energy wasted trying to resolve these issues. Not worth it. SEE YA TL16.

If it wasn't for the location, I would give it a one-star. This is the darkest gym you can go to after dusk. I bet your storage room is brighter than here.

Great location and free parking in the mornings. But a lot of broken, very used equipment. For example, some of the numbers have worn off the weights. So it's a process to figure it out (see photo). Overall, great atmosphere and friendly staff and VERY affordable

The gym is nice. There are two big things that annoy me, a lot of people use or claim more than one piece of equipment or machine during peak hours. On the women’s side where there’s a limited amount of items that’s ridiculous. The equipment on the women’s side is oddly too high… didn’t they make this side for women? Why is it so high. The men’s side just similar weird machine and equipment claiming behaviour. Otherwise, it’s good gym. Similar to others you’d pay for in the same range. The view is great. The neugbourhood is safe.

Very Minimal equipment and recently they removed 50% of their machines to make space for their personal trainers so they can make more money . The only gym I have ever seen in my life that doesn't have butterfly machine . Usually pack with people even during covid . Just matter of time before everyone there get covid. Stay away its very small and they put 70 people in that small room ....funny that they still signing up people!!!

When I joined the gym, I signed a contract to pay about 20 dollars a month plus tax in two monthly installments. The agreement contained an "entire agreement" clause stating that any changes to the contract must be signed in writing by both parties. Notwithstanding this clause in the agreement, the gym proceeded to unilaterally implement a "New 2 Hour No Show and Late Cancellation Policy". When you book a gym appointment online, you receive the following warning: "If you have reserved a workout session and fail to show up or cancel 2 hours in advance there will be an automatic charge of $10.00 to your preauthorized payment method for the no show or for not cancelling your booked session." What was not disclosed to me in any manner was that there is actually a third way of receiving a penalty. Your credit card is charged $10 plus tax if you arrive at your appointment more than 15 minutes late. (I am lifting weights on my own within a one-hour timeslot - there is no personal trainer or staff involved). I was charged this penalty a series of times and was never informed by front desk staff. When I discovered the charges on my credit card, I raised the issue with a staff member at the front desk. I was told to send an email. I wrote a lengthy email and never received a reply. My next step was to cancel my gym membership. The front desk staff do not have the authority to cancel memberships, so I was asked to wait half an hour to meet with a representative sitting in a glass office. (I wasn't willing to write another email that might simply be ignored.) At this meeting, I found out that the gym had previously decided to give me a $70 dollar refund credit. However, I was informed that a negative balance was unprecedented and that "management" would have to get involved in order to approve the issuance of a refund cheque. The next day I received an email stating that the credit was just a "courtesy" and that the gym was unwilling to refund my money. There is a section on the website FAQ entitled "The price sounds too low - what's the catch?" Now you know what the catch is. For the last 2-3 months, I have paid more in penalties than in regular membership dues. The executive who came up with the scheme is in no doubt deserving of his next bonus. The only problem is that the company never consulted its lawyers. For most of the membership base, the penalties are technically not contractually enforceable.

While the gym was decent and I enjoyed the she’s fit section, which allowed you to work out in a women only zone, the payment plan was ridiculous. If you try to cancel they try to make you go in in person. My reason for cancelling was that the gym was no longer conveniently located as I moved. But they kept charging me again and again. They refused to resolve forcing me to pay way longer than is fair or right. And this went on for well over a year. They would start of every conversation with “we don’t have any record of your cancellation”. I am really disappointed. Never auto pay this company, once they get your payment info they just keep charging month after month for as long as they want even if you send many notices to cancel. I will never go back to this gym based on my experience.

***STAY AWAY*** THESE GUYS ARE ONLY HERE TO SCAM YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS AND CREDIT CARDS. They for some unknown and unexplainable reason must have your bank information and credit card number on file and once you have managed to leave you will still be receiving charges to your cards. STAY AWAY if you value your banking privacy.

I was a club16 member since March 2021. The gym has adequate equipment and the staff are very nice and welcoming here. Their She’s Fit section is also great during non peak times. But unfortunately I cannot recommend Club16 anymore. In July 2023, I had fraud on my credit card so I had to change my credit card. A payment bounced and club16 only informed me three days after the incident. When I learned I immediately went to the front desk to update my credit card details. Club 16 charged me a $20 late fee which is ridiculous given that: a) I have never missed a payment in the two and a half years I have been a member there b) The membership alone is $22/ month, a $20 late fee is not justified here. c) I was not aware that the payment had bounced and as soon as they told me I had showed up right then and there to provide my new details. I asked if they could waive the $20 late fee because in my 2.5 years of being a member I had never missed a payment and I did not know that the payment was even missed AND when i found out I did my due diligence RIGHT AWAY THE SAME DAY to update the details. Management even asked me for proof that there was fraud on my credit card account which of course I had correspondance from the bank and I sent to them. They took a few days to ultiamtely let me know they will not be waiving the $20 late fee and It was my responsibility to make sure my payments went through and I had to download the app to get these types of notifications (which I DO take responsibility for). I NEVER said to Club16 it’s their fault I missed the payment- I understand my responsibility but Club 16 showed NO SYMPATHY and NO ADEQUATE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wasn’t asking them to take the blame, or asking them to refund me money, I was only asking them to waive the $20 late fee this ONE TIME. I really couldn’t believe that Club16 did not care at all about the fraud situation (even after I provided them proof) and would not sympathize with a 2+ year member (again, NEVER missed a payment) just for a $20 late fee. I am prepared to join another gym and pay extra just not to be treated this way! I have never been this hurt by a business before LOL I used to recommend Club16 all the time but wanted to share my experience to warn others just in case! staff are very nice, it’s just management that’s a mess

Overall a decent clean environment. They're covid aware and moderately strict. I work out there with a partner and the staff is usually on us about sanitation between individual sets. Moving on to the club itself, it does need more square footage. It's long and narrow, with a third of it dedicated to circuit training. The pandemic has made things worse... The booking system fills the gym to capacity usually every hour of the day. But if you know how to be flexible with your exercises, you should be just fine!!! Again, it's close by (for me) and available. Which is highly appreciated during these times.

I quit - safety of members not taken seriously. And they’re not following all the safety protocols with equipment placements. Some staff completely indifferent to safety measures. Machines not all safely distances; and rarely cleaned. Change rooms too crowded - no limits - no social distancing. Even though they claim to limit members inside the facility, it’s always overly crowded in the gym area. But don’t my word for it - just observe.

I supported this gym since March without even setting foot there due to the pandemic, expecting things to get better, and now that I finally decided to quit the gym, they are still forcing me to pay the month notice! I was expecting to come back once things where normal, but now you lost a client for good! Y'all own me for 8 months of unused membership. Cowards.

I adore this gym! :) the staff are the must awesome trainers I have ever have. Really prepared, polite and always available to help or give some advice :D They are a really good asset for this gym that make the morning exercises way more happy. I have been in the North Van location as well but I truly prefer the Canada Place location. The view and the gym itself are really cool. Its always clean, in order and the equipment is on point! Definitely recommended!

Firstly, front desk didn't help with $10 penalty which was charged mistakenly as I was attending my session 7 minutes late, but policy allows to be late by 15 minutes. Staff simply gave me corporate general email address to try and recover $10 erroneous charge. My wage is higher than the time I would have spent resolving that problem. Secondly, front desk would not allow me to enter without mask, change introduced within the last week, without grace period, without masks being offered for sale by them and without sending any notification via email or website. Disappointed to the point that ready to cancel my membership

Worst customer service ever! Changes are not effectively delivered to clients. You spend 30 minutes walk for a workout and end up with ridiculous request to wear mask. Website doesn't mention anything about new requirement nor customer service sell masks. Suggestions to management: 1. Think outside of the box 2. If you implement changes - have a grace period or at least channels for delivering changes ( email notifications, website announcement, sell masks during first week of change) I understand that it is unusual times right now, but come on! At least copy whats your competitors are doing...its going to be hard to stay in business without thinking about your customers first!

Great location and view. I had personal training with Tina for about 6 months. She is excellent, very detailed instruction and we focused a lot on form and taking it slow. She pushed me to my best and always keep the training exercises fresh and interesting. She is relaxed and makes you feel safe and supported in a the gym environment. I would recommend her for any one looking to work with a top female trainer. Many thanks! Jodi

I've been here one time with my membership and I'm already looking for a new gym. I have considered it and I rather pay an extra $20 or so to go to a cleaner facility. I go to the gym during work hours so I have to shower when going back to the office. When I went, the shower stalls were nasty and the change room needs cleaning. Lockers look like it was beaten up.i understand the low rates, but also keep it comfortable and clean. I have been a member at goodlife fitness and anytime fitness in the past, but never have I thought of it this way as I do with this gym/location. This one is the worse one in terms of cleanliness. The layout was weird too. Couldn't find the stretch area until I realized that you throw a mat in the middle of the floor anywhere. In fact, trainers were training their clients in the middle of lanes. After reading about other people's experiences when cancelling, I am hoping I don't encounter the same treatment as they did.

Worst gym I have been in Vancouver, they offered me personal trainer course package during registration and trainer that they sent me was less knowledgeable than me, so I ended up teaching him. Despite the fact that I only took one session (and figured out its a scam) they still charged me for whole course package and didn’t allowed me to cancel my membership, until paying it. Anyone who takes their fitness journey seriously will not even pass by their building.

I was a member here 2019-2022 for 3 years. If you want a cheap corporate gym its the perfect match for you, its a private club so they don’t let you in if you are bot a member, regardless of how many years you have been a loyal costumer. Staff is just great people if you are a member but you can always find bad apples in a bunch, also with the people who work out there, cheap and dark gyms attract some weird crowd. It gets super busy during peak hours 4-7, they just got two new lifting platforms. $99 initiated fee and $49 yearly club enhancement fees are the most expensive to start but promotions run sometimes. Cheaper single Local membership about $22 and premium membership is about $28 which allows you to use massage chair (kinda bs just shoots warm water at your back) but you can use multiple locations with the premium plan.

I usually workout at other club16’s - mostly Burnaby area - but because this is located close to were I work I decided to give it a shot - the gym closes at 7 pm and me and many other girls were changing in the locker room to leave - this receptionist called Precious marches in yelling at all of us telling its 7:05 pm we should leave immediately and if we don’t she’s going to leave notes on all of our accounts - ??? - need I remind you none of the girls were fooling around everybody was changing so they could leave. I told precious members have a 10-15 min leniency to change and leave and she said I was lying that was only for staff members. As I was leaving I tried asking one of the sales rep about this and precious overheard us and kept trying to interfered with an extremely rude attitude. I worked at Club16 for almost a year and we never treated anybody the way Precious acted tonight. She definitely needs some guest experience training!!!

All of the horror stories you are reading about cancelations are true. This location and ABC fitness operate in bad faith when members attempt to cancel their accounts. ABC will route you to the gym and the gym will route you to ABC fitness. I put in my cancelation requests 3 months ago and received confirmation. They have charged me 3 times including a 60$ charge yesterday on a card I never authorized to be on the account. I used the card for a one time payment and they stored it and refuse to take it off the account. Similar to other members, I now have to go the route of changing my banking because I simply cannot get these guys to stop charging my card. They do this because they get away with it. My advice, spend a couple extra dollars and go to a better gym. This headache isn't worth it.

When I checked my credit card statement this month, I noticed I was charged 3 times for no-shows. I was at every appointment, early, lining up to get in everytime and have photos to prove it too. I find it odd that this gym has a system that automatically charges you for no reason WITHOUT any notifications in e-mail or text messages. Also, the staff NEVER picks up the phone, so the only way to reach them is if you go there yourself. As well, I wasn't given a tag when I first joined the gym, and was only given access two weeks after I joined. And it will take ANOTHER two weeks for them to ship the tag to me. And their IT system is extremely outdated - when I sign up for gym sessions online, it's almost like going to back to the 2000s. - UPDATE: staff have answered my call, and will review my account for refund.

Descriminated on the basis of my residency status in BC with referral to COVID. 😡😡😡 3 FREE DAYS trial is available only for BC Residents because of COVID! No information on the website is given. Given the new rule to work out in mask, I wanted to use these 3 free days to check out if I can handle it but I was rejected this opportunity just because I am not a BC resident (Work Permit holder) in covid time. However, welcomed to buy a membership. Surprisingly enough, no COVID may hinder their intention to get your money. Absolutely shocked!!!!

I’ve been going to this gym for a couple months now and I love it! Sometimes it’s a little crowded, but there is enough equipment to get a good workout regardless. Ana was very welcoming from the moment I stepped into the building and always says hi whenever she sees me at the gym. I also started personal training with Chris who an amazing trainer and really emphasizes proper form so I don’t injure myself. This gym is overall worth the money, and the view while you’re working out is amazing!

***Please read whether you have membership or looking to open one.*** ****** They kept charging my credit card long after membership cancellation, cancellation terms and conditions on different account types is not clearly discussed at the time of signing up, but of course available in fine print terms of contract that no one usually reads. A few of my friends and family members had the same problem. a few days after emailing them someone contacted me, verifying that they surcharged me, and promised a payment in 8 weeks (2 months) but my credit card charges me interest. Overall, I don’t recommend this place as their business can’t be trusted.

I go here at least 5 days a week and I must say that this is the best gym in Downtown. Love the reception team! Always greeting and welcoming you. Lots of energy and they are the reason for me to be consistent to GYM! This facility is kept very clean and cleaning wipes are there for us to clean the machines before and after. One team member is usually on floor regularly to assist with equipment's cleaning and everything. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym that is very reasonably priced and has all the equipment you really need. Definitely coming back here. Great team!

They really need some kind of crowd management system during peak hours. I don't take long on machines but sometimes there's always someone asking you how many more sets. Like 3+ times per session. The washrooms/showers/change rooms are also DISGUSTING. It needs to be renovated because the environment is just smelly and no one is really cleaning it every hour when it should be. The women's toilet ALWAYS smells like really strong pee. The Brentwood location has a more decent/spacious washroom.

I have been working out at this great gym for almost 2 years. Recently, I decided to sign up for 12 sessions with a Personal trainer...my first...at the age of 83! Tina is terrific! She watches me like a hawk and immediately saw where my weak points were that needed work ( range of motion, strengthening, etc.). Tina is Turkish and a focused and patient trainer. I highly recommend working with her...it’s worth every penny!

I was just REFUSED ENTRY to Trevor Linden Club 16 simply because I booked through ClassPass (confirmation was successful on the app). Paid $8 in pricey Vancouver DT parking, planned my day and COVID-prepped for the gym, and ended up getting an explanation from front office that the ClassPass partnership was terminated 2 months ago and I could not enter. Beyond that, the studio did nothing to try to alleviate the situation. The management team at the time led by Bahar (supervisor?) at front desk did nothing to help other than acknowledging the difficult situation. They stated they required a BC license to let me in on a “free trial” because it was company policy, not even due to COVID concerns! I understand you’re towing the company line, but at this point realize the difference between someone coming in for a free trial and someone who was wronged for a service they have already paid for and rendered. Not sure if the issue is competency or just not caring about the job - both cases things need to change. I would strongly dissuade anyone from coming here on the basis of service alone. To the studio: if you have an issue with ClassPass, FIGURE IT OUT rather than pushing it further back. You’ll just get worse and worse customer experience and that will bite back in the long run.

Club 16 in Downtown Vancouver is a great place, it is one of Vancouver's top gym and is widely regarded as one of the city's best values in fitness centers. I've been working out here for quite sometime and returning member. I find the gym etiquette of the members is excellent and the staff are fantastic. That is something I noticed after I had been to a couple of other gyms by chance or circumstance a handful of times since I returned here. Regardless of how nice a gym and a place is, it is the people who use it and manage/ support it that make it a good or bad place in my estimation. This place has all the good people and is a real central hub to the community overall. For instance, one of the staff, Bahar, is incredibly upbeat, motivating, knowledgeable, encouraging and extremely qualified! She really cares about overall members experience and go above and beyond her job duty to ensure club policies and proceudres have put in place ensuring everyone safety and well-being. Such a family vibe as soon as you walk in the doors and very welcoming with a good mixture of ages, and body-types. You don't need to worry about feeling out of place no matter how old or out of shape you may be. Definitely worthy of your consideration if you are looking for a gym in this neighbourhood.

Really mediocre gym. Has what you need but not a lot of it. The layout is a bit funny because of the shape of the building, so walkways are narrow between equipment. Naturally, the personal trainers have decided these walkways are the perfect spots to train their clients. It's quite aggravating. The Richmond location is much better.

Love this location! Great staff! Beautiful view! But social distancing isn’t enforced on the ladies side. People will start working out less then 3 feet from you in front of the mirror where the benches are with there masks off… atleast keep the mask on if your not going to keep your distance. Having a compromised immune system during a pandemic is hard enough. The gym used to be my stress relief. Now it makes me stressed.

It would be nice if they didn’t completely cover the beautiful waterfront view with an opaque white strip and images. Really seems like a waste of a waterfront location.

Great gym; great price. I did the personal training package with Yasmin, and I am really happy with the results. Yasmin showed me a variety of exercises and workouts. She also gave me access to the plans, so I could workout on my own. She is also positive and explains the exercises thoroughly. Would definitely work with her again.

I’ve a member at club 16 for over 5 years. I’m very happy with them especially when you consider all of the equipment you get for $16 per month. What has made the most impact on me is my trainer Logan. I always look forward to our training seasons. This past 2 years have been a real challenge for everyone. I feel Club 16 did an awesome job trying to keep open as much as possible under all of the mandates. During this time I began experiencing vertigo. I could have given up on my training due the the impact it was having on my daily life. Due to Logan I was able to continue my training and not miss many sessions. He knew by how I was feeling how to adjust the training for that day. Now that I’m feeling good again we’re back at full training.

I did a 3 day test of the Club 16 facilities, and the truth is that the quality-price ratio seems good. They have 2 areas: one just for women and they other with men and women. The women’s area is well equipped with machine, although it could be better, and the washroom and showers, despite the large number of people, are ok. 👌

Decent but needs to improve on cleanliness and air circulation. Around 3 pm, the majority of the gym smells. It's a mixture of rubber and people's stench. If they improved air flow somehow, it would probably be more bearable. Decent for the price but only real negative feedback.

Kenisha is an exceptional personal trainer. I trained with her for a year and am extremely satisfied with the results. She is very knowledgeable and professional, and takes the time to understand my fitness goals and developed a personalized workout plan that is tailored to my needs. She is also very encouraging and supportive throughout the entire process, which helped me stay motivated and committed to my fitness journey. I highly recommend Kenisha to anyone getting started and looking for a great personal trainer.

very cool gym with a fantastic location, good value for money and excellent customer service. The Club 16 was recommended to me by some friends because I was looking for a gym that offered a cheap price for a month. As soon as I arrived I was amazed at how empty the gym is on a Friday afternoon and how much choice I have. Kirat, an employee of the club, showed me everything in the gym and provided a very friendly service. He explained to me very quickly and simply what my option is if I only plan to stay for a month. Great praise for the friendly way I was treated as a customer. My workout today was great and I'm really looking forward to the coming month

I am very frustrated. I've sent the email to request my cancellation 2 weeks ago and did not hear anything from ABC. I resent another email and requested that they confirm that they've received the 2nd email. Still no word. If I don't hear anything back from ABC I will have to contact my credit card company to dispute any further charges from ABC and Club 16. Update: The variety of equipment is very good, the gym is very clean and staff are very friendly. I changed my post to 4 stars because, overall, I was happy with my membership at the gym and also with the quick response to my original post.

I've been going to club 16 for a while now, it's a pretty good gym for the price point. Shout-out to James, one of the staff that works there, who helps create a highly motivating and encouraging environment and is ready to help anyone who needs it. He helps make the gym be a much more friendly and fun place to be, instead of just being a workout place it forms the gym into a form of community and helps to keep you wanting to go to the gym.

My experience there has been insanely amazing. I started off with a personal trainer named Tomas Macik which he was my personal trainer for 3 months and really helped me out with my conditioning and my strength. I used to be really skinny and was about to grow a beer belly, however Tomas really helped me out with what I wanted which was core strength, stamina and body strength. I highly recommend Tomas as a personal trainer for he is really good with communicating as well. My other amazing experience in club 16 downtown has gotten even better because now I have been training for powerlifting and I couldn't have ever started with it and love doing it so much if it wasn't for Coach James Olarte. When it comes to form, I believe he really does look at the details and really does help you. He is currently helping me with my Squat, Bench, and Deadlifts. I have never felt so much stronger if it wasn't for his SBD training. My current goal is 4 Plate deadlift, 2 Plate bench press, 3 plate squat. I started out so low but he's helped me out and pushed me harder to get to my goal, and I couldn't be any more excited every time I do. Not only is he a good coach, he too is very friendly and you can always have a good laugh while you're training.

When I started back at the gym, I bought a personal training package and was working out with Tina. She's an absolutely incredible trainer who is very knowledgable and motivating. She has a keen eye and will point out where you can improve, but is also clearly empathetic and understanding to help you not get discouraged along the way. 5 months later with my sessions done, and I've slimmed down, feel stronger, and just feel better overall. I have a better foundation to keep working on myself, and I attribute that to my sessions with Tina. Tina is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I can't say enough good things about her and Club16. So long as you show up and put in the work, then the training packages are a great worthwhile expense.

This is a great gym in a great location! A special shout out to Bahar who gave me a great deal with a personal trainer when I first joined. Thanks Bahar for your perseverance and ensuring I received the best package available.

I have been a club 16 member for about 3 years at both downtown and more recently, the coquitlam location. Overall I really like both gyms, and a lot of this has to do with the inclusive fitness environment for people of all fitness levels. I have noticed that the what the coquitlam location lacks in comparison to the Vancouver location is the staff who go above and beyond to help you reach your fitness goals. At the Vancouver location, one member in particular I attribute a great deal of the success on my fitness journey to is team member James, or for myself, and others "Coach James". Whenever needed, James does not hesitate to offer his fitness advice and motivation - making sure my workouts are injury free and as effective as possible. Further, James has a good ability to recognize when you are open to the advice he has to give, and when it simply may not be a good time. Thank you coach James for all your advice to help me achieve my goals!

Unfortunately the good employees are getting out. When you can get to book your workout (because it is always busy before 9am) you just have 1h to finish your session (unfortunately it is not possible for me). The two Stars Reviews are for Masi and Ana, good location, and good price. PS: The employees DO NOT practice social distancing between them, they only ask for you and your wife to do. Interesting Eh!

Initially an ok gym, then with more restrictions some staff were at times rude to customers. In my account there were “no show” charges that randomly appeared, in addition when canceling with them they charged for that extra month. Would never recommend this place.

Great location and friendly staff. They are on top of keeping the space clean for everyone, encouraging people to not share equipment and clean up before and after use, and keeping social distancing during COVID. However, they do currently have a $10.50 no show/late fee that charges "automatically". I ran into a couple of instances where I scanned in, but the scans didn't go through, and additional charges showed up on my credit card. (I crossed checked with my Google Maps Timeline and Calendar to be sure I was there when I should) You absolutely need to check your account diligently to ensure you didn't miss a scan. Also, the scanner is horrible, and can easily miss your scan if the person behind you scan too soon after you (at least like 5 seconds wait needed). Some staff do spend the time to check, but if they are busy and couldn't - be warned of automatic charges, and not to mention the time spent talking and emailing their staff to fix the mistake.

I joined this gym to get fit after getting a bad injury. I emailed the gym, and Rohan got back to me very quick. They were very kind, and professional and gave me great advice on how to join, and also about PT sessions. I found the experience great thanks to Rohan. I then came into the gym, and signed up with one of the other ladies who was also very professional.

I've been on my journey with Tina since October 2020. And it has been a treat for the both of us! She sees results of her expertise and I put in the 100% as she asked me during our initial sessions. She is a sweetheart and she makes sure you're comfortable and giving it your all each session. She made me realize things I've never thought a body part could do. Now, whenever i think of mind-body connection, it would always lead back to her.

The gym offers good value but it needs investment. For example, many of the lockers in the men's changing room are unusable, a tv in the corner has had a broken screen for months and generally some of the equipment needs upgrading/replacing. I'd also like to see the booking system re-introduced for peak times as the gym gets overly busy; with covid still very much a problem and few people wearing masks it doesn't feel overly safe. Lastly, why isn't the InBody body composition reader available for everyone to use? Such equipment availability is common at most gyms and so it seems odd that this requires the hiring of a personal trainer to use.

Not all too friendly staff. Having the premium membership and moving from one location to another. I'd say that the downtown spot is very well equipped as with other club 16, but not where I'd recommend a beginner to the gym. Has amazing views of the sea though

Adore this location! 😍 this is just everything I need in this good vibe environment. Staff was very polite and sweet. I did notice how clean all the areas are when I arrived today for my workout plus I found a really fun piece of cardio equipment that I never seen before. It feels like you are training on ice. My experience in the section of the gym "Shes Fit" The people who workout here are so humble , beautiful, who are all minding thier own business and into thier workouts instead of walking around trying to look for a date or who aren't taken constant selfies of themselves and very, classy vibe. Also if you forget to pack your water bottle at home Trevor Linden Fitness carries good quality water bottled locally in Canada..these big water bottles made from recycled plastic only for $1.50 " Purified water by Reverse Osmosis and Ozonated." I'm so highly impressed! Although you can find any of these water bottles in any Trevor Linden gym facility . Also if you need a bicycle rental they have some available for you. If you are looking to workout on a Saturday this is definitely the place you want to be! And the view on a beautiful day is gorgeous

I love this gym. So cheap! Especially to be able to tan too. Lots of equipment. Plus, I hired a personal trainer (Tomas Macik) through the gym that was so knowledgeable! take advantage of students who don't speak the English language so well, not to explain the clauses of the contract! first, they put an insurance value on the subscription, which if you don't ask to take it out, they put it... you hire pay to pay weekly, but when you ask to cancel they say they will charge another four weeks, what sense does it make, if you hired weekly, because at the time to leave need to pay more? this is like a fine! however it was not explained at the time of hiring! be smart when hiring!

I have had only bad experiences! First I was lied to when I was signing up, and was told that I would be paying half of what I actually pay… the girl who signed me up was a lier and total con artist and she absolutely knew that I thought I would be paying around $15 a month, and I actually pay $15 twice a month! So please please be careful what the contract actually says!! Then I needed to change my method of payment, to a different visa.. well I still have not been able to, because their website didn’t go through for some reason, and then I called and the automated service was broken and just takes in circles and you keep entering the same over and over again but never get a person, until tried a different way than I was asked to do, then that person couldn’t help me, so she forwarded me to an answering machine lol, but I told that she was getting me the person to help me lol!! So I will never use this gym again!! What a disappointment.. oh I was a body builder for years and I also worked out all my life!! So I have been to many Gyms in North America!

A really nice gym I don’t have any complaints really! Price is great, very clean and they have good, new equipment. I only stay in the women’s section so I can’t speak for the co-Ed area. It can get a little busy and there isn’t a ton of space to use free weights or stretch but I haven’t had many issues because of this. Definitely recommend :)

I’ve got nothing but good things to say about this fitness facility. The staff are always very friendly, and helpful! All the equipment is up to date, and the gym is always very clean. The manager Jay is very on top of everything, and has always been so helpful with anything I’ve needed. He seems very experienced, and appears to run a very tight ship! I recommend this location to anyone looking for a great affordable gym!

Club 16 Downtown Vancouver is an excellent gym. I have been working with Sylvain Cyr as my PT for 4 months now. He worked with me to really understand my goals and created a plan to help me achieve them. His guidance has been key in my transformation journey and we celebrate the wins together along the way. The entire team at C16 are awesome and make an effort to get to know the members and provide encouragement. This spirit from the team fosters a great sense of community with all the members so everyone is super friendly and helpful. As a woman doing weight training the gym can be an intimidating place, working with Sylvain has helped me feel super confident at the gym - plus I have an awesome program to work. For anyone serious about embarking on a life changing transformation this is the place and the team to help you!

Up until now I’ve had no issues with Club 16. I have been coming to this gym regularly for over a year and a half. I referred my partner and after a few months they had decided that it was no longer for them. Club 16 charged them a cancellation fee of $80. Neither I nor my partner were informed by a representative that we would have to pay an $80 cancellation fee at the time, and I had good faith that as stated on the website “we also provide you an extremely easy way to cancel. Just provide your 30 days notice in writing by coming into the Club and signing a cancellation notice” that this would be a stress free cancellation. Club 16 has been far from accommodating while trying to work with support on this situation, and considering I have been a member for 16 months, the customer service is horrible and we will both be moving our business elsewhere. On top of that we were both charged an equipment fee of $50 not even 3 months into our consecutive memberships. If you can get by with dodgy customer service and representatives that do not inform you of these unethical policies then by all means sign up for Club 16.

Bike rentals available here for the Seawall. (The biking is a blast and very scenic!) Plan ahead as there are no refunds if you bring a bike back a few hours earlier. We were disappointed with my husband's bike as the back tire was bald and also bent. Employees did not appear to be concerned on bike condition. Otherwise, convenient location but it may pay to shop around.

I was thinking about it and this gym, especially the downtown location. Pretty close to a premium experience without the premium hefty price. Can't beat the view of the harbour, the sea planes landing or taking off and the Northshore mountains. The staff are very friendly, the place is clean and I've met a few awesome like minded people at Club 16. Made some friends there as well. I don't usually go to Club 16 during the busiest.times of the day, but I can see the social upside to being there at rush hour . It's awesome that the rates are actually lower than I paid in 2000-2005 at a different gym.The one downside is that the weights on hand can be limited if someone is leg pressing 10 plates per side but that is fairly minor and with the great price we can have it all. But pretty close. Lee B Member since March 2019

I've been a member at several gyms, but Club 16 stands out as the best combination of cost and value. Lots of equipment variety to complement any workout plan - the only downside is that it can be busy at times. Camille recently joined the team, and her willingness to assist with inquiries or warmly greet members with a smile doesn't go unnoticed. Really appreciate her effort and good service!
