I called the day of to confirm that the check in time was 4:00 pm. We drove all night and day from The States and arrived at 3:51 pm. We were told it would be another half hour, then an hour and finally that we should go to dinner and come back. We finally checked in over 3 hours late. They didn't care and didn't even give us the $25 dinner voucher that came with the package we'd purchased. Horrible customer service!!! The room was old and sort of clean, some garbage left in the bathroom. This hotel definitely needs to be updated. Had a strange man come to our door one night. Definitely won't stay there again.

This place is nothing like the website. I don’t know where the people who wrote the good reviews stayed but our rooms were so bad. Carpets so stained with ???? Bed sheets stained with blood. Lock on door says to lock at night for safety but it is painted shut and lock goes around in circles. Bathroom floor all sticky with ? Bathroom tile and grout not finished or if it was a mouse could come through the grout. Holes in walls. No more rooms available?? For real? Wish I could give it a negative. So bad

It's much cheaper than most other options but that's for a reason, the rooms are very out of date, and not exactly the most clean looking. The hot water didn't work, the bathroom tile looked quite dirty, and there were stains on the carpet. On the positive side, the bedding was very clean, the outside of the units are very cute, convenient to get a bus down to English bay and Stanley park, some good food options close by, and all the staff were very nice.

There was rats running around outside the motel for starters. There was little to no wifi connection in our room and it was so hot. The windows were broken to the point where if I wanted to open it I might as well invite anyone inside through it, therefore a huge safety concern especially at night. We stayed here since it was the only hotel available for the certain dates we were there. I would not recommend it to anyone unless you like rats:)

Nice central, cozy, eclectic old-fashioned motor hotel with a rich history. Room was clean and well-equipped, except bring your own coffee! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Was okay, room was extremely hot with only a small fan to keep it cool. They also took money off my security deposit (my friends & I were there ONE NIGHT & spent a majority time at hotel sleeping) without even giving a reason for taking that money off the security deposit. Especially after I tidied the room before going to sleep. Over all wouldn't use it again.

This was way back in 1979. One week stay in a one bedroom suite that had a small kitchen with sitting area as well. People were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning lady was there the very next day and we struck up a friendly conversation. I was new to BC and she told me where to get groceries and household needs at the best prices. I mentioned that I was quite cold the night before and I guess that she mentioned it to the front desk after she was done with my rooms because someone from the front desk came by with two extra blankets for me a few hours later. Those were the days when people were kinder I guess . I don't know how it is now but my stay there was great. The room was fine if somewhat dated, but still cozy. Good location for getting around.

Mold in rooms, rats running around. All around dirty. The window on my door broke because the door swings shut by itself and as it did smashed into my elbow cutting it. Instead of being concerned about their guests and fixing it right away, they put some really thin 1/8 inch thick wood across in place of window. It stayed like that for the duration of my stay about 1 month, on top of that charged me 200 for a small thin piece of single pain glass and didn't even bother to fix it. Abdoloutly horrific place to stay. My laundry was taken out of the dryer and given to another room by the front desk lady. The cleaning ladies are very polite and courteous but thats about all I have to say good about this dive! Oh and it is far too expensive for whst you get there. Better off with an air b&b or a tent

We got put here by the city after our house flooded and we werent able to stay there . Honestly the worst place ive ever stayed . Some of the staff were nice but most were rude and not helpful and over charged me . The room was cold and the heat barely worked . Rats were everywhere , ran over my feet a few times when i walked out my doot.I asked for extra blankets for my wife and daughter and got one small blanket . The toilet over filled because it was not hooked up right and flooded our bathroom. Will definitely never stay here again

This motel is quite dirty. The exterior looks quite run down as well. The beds are a bit small, however the room itself was actually quite large. Choose to stay here only if you have no other choice. Otherwise, there's better options out there.

This place is the run-down trailer park version of the photos on their website. Everything smells like cigarette smoke. Bathroom floor was caving in - I pulled up a broken tile and the floor is soaked through and molded underneath. Decently clean, but the buildings need serious renovation to continue operating. Wifi doesn't work. Parking lot was a bit of a mess with stuff from people who live there full time.

A cockroach woke my wife up as it crawled over her in bed!! The furnishings are heavily stained, it’s stinks of stale cigarette smoke. The windows do not close properly. We did not feel safe staying here. My wife ended up sleeping in the car. There are rats in the carpark. The room next door was permanently lived in and had smashed windows and cardboard in them. We only stayed here because we pre booked and had just arrived after a long flight and had jet lag. We had paid for a room with kitchen but they had messed up the booking so we had a smaller room with no kitchen. The whole motel is very rundown. It feels like a horror film setting. The staff were very nice and friendly though. Unfortunately they had no cockroach spray or the authority to give us a partial refund for our lack of kitchen without a delay whilst they called a supervisor. They did offer a full refund if we wanted to go somewhere else. But our daughter needed to get to sleep after the 10 hour flight. I would advise you at stay somewhere else.

I really can't even give this place a 1 star. They promised the phone and WiFi worked --neither did--only in the office! It has not been remodelled since 1946! Mould around the shower tiles, tiles falling off. The bottom of the front door was kicked in, I could put my fist through it to the outside!. The sink, toilet and the bedding were clean but , I think original to the motel. This was the cheapest I could find in an emergency in Vancouver $236!! With tax. They also charge a $200 damage deposit that goes right on your card and then after they physically check your room the next day, it is put back on as a refund. Can't really blame them--not a safe area--lots of long term tenants in this motel. The guy next door sat in a chair under our window and talked to himself constantly. Oh, yes, the TV did not work! Could not hear it at all--maintenance worker will be in tomorrow!! I asked for another room but that would have been another $100. Not recommended!!!!

Front desk very pleasant and friendly. The room and environment too rough for me.. definitely affordable if your on a budget.. broken boarded up broken windows, loose litter, and garbage cans and garbage debri from people who live there full time, hair on the bed, dirty linen behind the dresser, and ants, sketchy area.. we booked for 3 nights based on pictures looked lovely and quaint. We only stayed the 1 night checked out the following morning.

This place is a tad bit rough. Upon arrival we noticed that there were boards in some of the windows. When we got into our room it was extremely warm with no way to turn it off. There was also hair all over the bathroom. The doors were hard to open and close. Honestly this is the sketchiest place I have ever stayed. The only reason that I'm giving it two stars is because all the people working the desk were lovely .

Perfect for a night of debauchery. Not very clean but it'll do for fun. They have smoking rooms for a price which is nice for those who smoke.

They took two deposits from me first night I stayed in single room payed cash. Next night I moved to a full kitchenette suite two bedrooms. Rather than carrying the 200 deposit from first room they asked for a second two hundred. I assumed because I eD staying a week n the room was larger. At check out they only returned 200 and claim to have no paperwork on first deposit. So basically they frauded me as the manager has not returned my calls. I stayed there another night just last week single room and put 200 down dep. I had a family emergency so I asked my friend to return key to office and I called to let them know would be e to come pick up my deposit after 3. Once I got there they askede for the key. Usually u leave in the room before check out. My situation wD different because check out 21 or 12 so I had my friend bring key to office window 630 am. As the guy at counter was not realizing the key was in its slot rather than looking he charged me 75 dollars to make a key that was never lost. This hotel had some very good employers and some that are dishonest enough to steal from returning customers. Until I get both refunds I will not return and be sure to spread the word that they are theigs. I even have all the paper work to prove it but they haven'tade me a priority at all. Calm

I got two rooms for myself and a separate one for a couple of my good friends. For my friend's I requested for there to be a kitchen and bathroom with shower and tub and pet friendly due to my friends having two dogs and for myself I got a small cute but cozy room and both rooms where beautiful with friendly staff and they do have the opportunity of getting your laundry done $2.50 a wash and another $2.50 for dryers 👍

I stayed there a few nights, I asked what the price is for staying by the month. I was told, I coudn't afford it. You see I am "First Nation". BC Housing just gave me their number again. To phone and see if I can stay a few months.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. It looks nothing like in the pictures. It is far from everything, there is not even a Tim Hortons around. There is no air conditioning, the TV doesn't work, it's clear the place hasn't been updated since it opened. there is NO USABLE WIFI. Us and the other tenants had to go hover around the reception office to get a signal and even then it was the slowest thing I have ever seen. For the price it is not worth it, and it is nothing as advertised.

Great location and nice service. In this motel, some movie and serie scenes were filmed (Bates Motel, X-Files...). High recommendable!

first day we got there, walked in and some of the lights didn’t work, bed sheets were stained, roof in the bathroom was falling apart, mold on the roof, spider infestation in the shower that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in over a week, hair on the toilet seat. lady at the front offered a refund

Disclaimer : I have personally not stayed at this location, however recently my friends who were visiting from Ontario, booked this place and this is based on their feedback. Awesome location, friendly staff, open setting for rooms, all on the ground level. Rooms were clean and service staff was very helpful. The major drawback is that each room does not necessarily have a small microwave, or fridge. So if you have kids, you need to choose the kitchenette option when booking. Less than 15ins walk from the Nanaimo and 29th Avenue skytrain stations which is a blessing, transit bus service also available as it falls on the Major Kingsway road.

I recently stayed at 2400 Motel in Vancouver, and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. I highly recommend it!

This place is nothing like they show in the pictures. The bathroom is very tiny and whoever did the tiles, looks like he was drunk. Besides, there is not a microwave, refrigerator, or a coffeemaker. The carpet is stained, it has some old cheap furniture. the grass is all unkempt and there are cigarette butts lying everywhere. The I think that the owner should renovate this dump for pride

It has been many decades since I stayed at the 2400. I liked the central location and the privacy of the intimate bungalows. When I stayed at the 2400 there was no such thing as internet, the fax was not yet invented. Music was on eight-track tapes and AM Radio. I often wonder if much has changed at the 2400?

I met a friend there who needed a place to stay for a few nights until they could move into their new apartment, and (apparently) this was the only place they could find on short notice. In my opinion, the place is a dive, and the typical clientele seem to be very sketchy. In fact, the area around the motel is sketchy too, although there is a lot of development happening along Kingsway, so maybe in a few years it will get better. I'm not sure how much they paid per night, but it would have to be cheap. Mind you, I was only there breifly, so maybe this is an unfair observation. However, from what I saw, I personally wouldn't stay there unless I had no where else to go.

Share the same ambiance and facilities as other north American budget motels, Location is good in between Burnaby and DT Vancouver with reasonable commute access.....price varies according to the season, don't expect polite or friendly management (as probably they have to deal with lots of questionable people), Guests are fully responsible for your belongings.

Pictures online looked good but the place was a dump and tried to screw me over with prices. I called a month ahead and booked a room for $120. When I got there they told me it was $149 with a $200 damage deposit (which was ridiculous because the places looked like they were falling apart and the manager could have pointed to any one stain and said I was responsible) then upped the price to $190 after fees and taxes. The computer system also (allegedly) crashed right before we got there (which I can't blame them for if it actually did) but they didn't have any backup written files to go off, and also wouldn't write a receipt if I did pay. Ended up not staying and leaving that night instead. Would leave a 0 star review if possible.

This place is shockingly disgusting and run down. I've stayed in some questionable places all around the world and somehow this was the worst of all. The carpets were sticky under my feet, the upholstery on the single chair in the room was filthy, the door was crumbling away at the bottom, the sink was clogged and filled with dirt and grime, and shower fixtures were broken and there was no temperature control, tiles were missing and broken in the bathroom, the WiFi barely worked, and the rooms were like ovens with no air conditioning. At least the sheets were seemingly clean. Whoever owns this place puts absolutely zero effort into maintaining it.

  • 1/5 Kartaar D. 1 year ago on Google
Worst motel ever seen, as soon as we went in the room a huge rat welcomed us and saw a cockroach running in the room. Moreover no air conditioning. Consider all this before booking this.

  • 1/5 Mary M. 1 year ago on Google
I choosed to reserve at the 2400 motel because I couldn’t afford to pay a crazy price only for one night, so I knew it probably wouldn’t be an amazing experience. But, for $172 AND a $200 deposit, I’ve stayed in a lot of places that were way nicer!! Room smells weird, there’s stains all over the carpet and beddings, bathroom is awful and full of mold, and just looking at the shower makes my skin itchy!! If you are only staying for a night event in Vancouver and can’t afford to pay a little extra, well you can go there, but I’m honestly starting to consider sleeping in my truck tonight. The one star is only for the desk guy who was very polite and welcoming

I hope this review helps others, because I wish I read what others wrote prior to booking my stay. There were three main problems with the Motel: 1) Hair left in the bathroom when we got there. I don’t think the staff cleaned up properly after the last visit 2) Mice (or maybe rats, I don’t know) outside between motel rooms. The manager said that he is working on fixing it, but I don’t believe it because I see other people’s reviews from earlier saying the same thing. Manager states that this is a problem in pockets of Vancouver and is working on it, however, I don’t think the staff cleans up properly between residents, so it makes sense why we saw mice there. 3) Wifi. Complimenary Wi-Fi was advertised on their listing. Upon getting there the first night the clerk was on a call stating there is a problem with it, and should be working soon (oh well, that’s understandable – no wifi on the first day). Second day we try again, and we are told that the wi-fi doesn’t extend all the way over to our room, we need to be closer to the main office. Okay at least we do get access to it. Third day, we go closer to the office, attempt to connect, and it still doesn’t work! No clerk available to help either. We did not get any access to wi-fi throughout the entire length of our stay. Overall, unclean, infested with rodents, and no wi-fi. Too many problems for the price that we paid. One of the other reviews stated it best, looks like where the main characters of a horror movie would stay.

My grandparents stayed here about 3 years ago during peak COVID when they came back for quarantine. I know I'm late on this review but my grandparents loved the place. The rooms were spacious, clean, and friendly, It also includes a kitchen so that's a bonus. Excellent place

Well it took a bit to warm up to the place. Mainly because it was cool in the places and if you wanted a bath instead of a shower. None of the 3 units we were in had plugs for the drains, seems petty but it was irritating. Also they lacked in blankets. We dealt with the issues at hand and we loved it here. They were rustic and quiet, the staff were very friendly and left you alone. Which made it even better, for after going through a devistating house fire and losing absolutely everything. We most definitely needed the seclusion to gather our thoughts and battle with the insurance company. We did not need any complication at our new homes. For that, I thank the excellent and friendly staff. Sincerely Jeff Mathers
