What is wrong with this picture and indeed with this restaurant ?! Where do I start ?! Do I start from the beginning, where 5 years ago, this place was a happening place with great food, great service , vibe and great value for money Mexican, OR do I start now, where this place is no where near acceptable for Mexican food! Below is a picture of the Chicken Burrito bowl, what is missing from the picture ?! Let's start with cheese, how about sour cream and/or guacamole how about some real vegetables (you know the type you see in MEXICAN RESTAURANTS!) vs filling half the plate with shredded lettuce ?! No condiments, like salsa or lime and even then, we just left what you saw behind, as it was easier to walk away from this vs having to eat it! So sad and disappointed by ever aspect of this once wonderful place, it is clearly not even a shadow of its former self. So so disappointed, and I had such high expectations given the reviews here.

Definitely a family-friendly eatery, with a dedicated play area for children. Good value and amazing options for quesadillas, burritos, and tacos. The Nachos are definitely best value in the menu…

I had such high hopes for Sal y Limon, but my recent experiences have been nothing short of disappointing. I will be reviewing specifically their burritos, as I consider their tacos might be a better option after my last experience. I used to be a huge fan of this restaurant about 5-8 years ago, and I used to sing its praises to all my friends and family, proudly declaring it as a true Mexican gem in Vancouver. However, things have changed drastically since then. I moved back to the neighborhood recently and was excited to be close to one of my old favorites. The service was still friendly, and the staff seemed genuinely welcoming, which makes me think the issues aren't entirely up to them. But the reality is that the food quality and overall experience at Sal y Limon have declined significantly. I decided to give them a second chance, going two nights in a row, hoping the first experience was just a fluke. Sadly, it was even worse the second time around. I ordered a burrito that was not only overpriced but also comprised mainly of cabbage with just a hint of anything else. To top it off, I was charged for guacamole that I never received. Calling it the worst burrito I've ever had would be an understatement. I can't, in good conscience, recommend anyone to dine here, despite the positive reviews they might have accumulated. Save your hard-earned money and head to Taco Bell or any junk fast-food joint for a much more satisfying and wallet-friendly burrito. This place is a far cry from the authentic Mexican experience it once claimed to offer.

Always a fave spot for mexican food in Vancouver! So glad they have more locations now! The food is amazing as always but my fave are always the tacos - Al pastor, carne salsa and the fish are always perfect! Wasn't too busy for lunch today but you dine in or takeout so it's quiet convenient. Make sure you try the horchata or the coffe+horchata they're so good! My only warning is that the parking lot here is tiny so try to find parking in the neighborhood and just walk to it!

I've been going here since its humbling beginnings and it has never disappointed. Probably the best Mexican food you can get in the lower mainland without breaking the bank. The shrimp tacos are probably one of my favorites, definitely give it a try. Don't skip out on the cheese!

Finally tried the famous Sal y Limon and was pretty happy with the result. I guess it's difficult to beat Chipotle in their burrito bowl, with all the great fried vegetables they use, the numerous options they give us for toppings and the serving size for a good price that lasts for 1-2 meals. This place had some good options in terms of main flavor (I got the cauliflower, done well) and they served a tasty bowl (although I wish it had more rice 🍚). The flan cake was great and I'll definitely be back to try the tres leches cake as well. Incredible ambience and really friendly service.

Good food and overall nice vibe to the restaurant. I got the chimichanga with a variety of tacos and some nachos. Portions are a good amount and the food came out fast. The chimichanga was great, but I wasn't really a fan of the mushroom taco I ordered. Everything else was delicious.

Great spot for authentic tacos and Mexican food. Looks like they have a renovation done recently and it looks great! Get the tacos, you will not regret it! About 4 tacos is a good portion for most people. Sal Y Limon is located at a small strip mall and parking during peak hours can get challenging.

Ordered takeout. Vegetarian burrito, extra spicy and a burrito bowl. No utensils in the bag (which I put on the order) so I won’t know how the burrito bowl is until I get home. No spice in my extra spicy burrito, pretty much barely any flavour at all. Underwhelming to say the least. I’ll never go back, not with choices like Tacofino around.

So good! Tacos are big and tasty, I ordered 6 and I had to share with my friend, couldn't finish by myself 😁... Liked 100% recommended 👍🏻

I wish I took a better angle of the burrito to show that it was 80% cabbage, some rice, meat and beans. I was basically only tasting cabbage. Literally any fast food burrito would beat this and for a cheaper price. The ceviche was very disappointing. I paid $8.50 for a half filled container and three tostadas. There was barely any seafood and like what someone else has said, it was just tomatoes and onions.

Great tacos and burritos! If driving you may find it difficult to find parking so plan ahead. Lots of tables and even a kids area. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu!

We had lunch here on a Sunday and it wasn’t busy in-person and mostly had a lot of food delivery traffic. Tacos were yum and decently priced - service was also good and food was delivered to the table after being ordered at the front. They have a self-serve water tap and a self-serve salsa bar. They also accept all major credit cards.

The burrito was very filling and delicious, but I think since I went at the end of the day, the meat was a little bit dry. Otherwise, the portions and flavor of dishes were solid.

Hit it 👍🏿! Such yummy food. A taco in Mexico is a taco in Mexico but if you want the next best thing this is the place to go. Always busy and bustling with so many options to choose from.

So very, very good! Very generous burritos and delicious guacamole! Super taste, great choices! We look forward to coming back and dining at the restaurant. We had pick up and it was packaged professionally and warm when we got it home. Quick , easy and such great people ! Looking forward to dining in and having a beer and trying more from your menu. Why have we not been here sooner???

Great variety of tacos and other Mexican dishes. My favourite from this visit was the chorizo sausage taco. Delicious!

Ok…. I went here for one main reason… And that is, if it was a good Mexican spot. I really was missing when I came to Canada for vacation and was looking for some good Mexican food and thankfully we found a good place. They have a variety of different meats and meats. I will say that the mole one surprised me the most because it was very flavorful and delicious. There salsas were good, the one I didn’t like as much was the red one. It was very sweet for some reason. But anyways please give this place a try, it’s worth it.

Solid taco place! Their tortillas seem like they are house made and are really soft. Filling options were good especially carnitas and elotes. Pina colada was tasty and refreshing! Must get the $4 churro for dessert, coffee(?) filling inside was delicious.

My recent dining experience at this restaurant left me with mixed feelings. The lack of meat in each taco compared to the past was disappointing given the relatively high prices per taco. To make matters worse, I discovered a metal wire in my food, which raised serious safety concerns. However, the shining star of this experience was the exceptional staff. When I alerted them to the issue, they acted promptly and professionally to rectify it, which was highly commendable. Their dedication to customer satisfaction was evident throughout the meal. On the positive note, the food arrived swiftly, showcasing the kitchen's efficiency. Quick service is always appreciated, and it enhanced the overall dining experience. Additionally, the salsas provided added a burst of flavor to the dishes. They were both diverse and delicious, complementing the tacos perfectly. In summary, while the lack of meat and the high price point gives this place a low value, and the discovery of a metal wire in my food was concerning, the outstanding service from the staff, prompt food delivery, and delightful salsas helped salvage the experience. I hope the restaurant addresses these shortcomings to truly elevate its dining experience.

This is the best Mexican food in Vancouver. The food was amazing and the staff look like they enjoy what they do. I got 4 tacos and each one was spectacular. Don't forget to try their hot sauces a well! They pair nicely with the food they give. 10/10 My girlfriend got the large nachos with carnitas and my goodness was it a large portion! It was packed to the brim with cheese, salsa, guacamole, onions and more. The carnitas meat was juicy and tender. Again, 10/10! Also, their (virgin) Pina Colada is to die for! You can also add a splash of fruit syrup to have it taste how you like. Initially I had bought one drink, but my girlfriend liked it so much we bought another one! Truly delicious. Another 10/10! Their menu features many customizable options so you can pick and choose what you want in your food and when stumped, the staff were quick to help and recommend their favourites! Such a great dining experience and I would definitely go again by myself, with my friends or even my family. I have nothing but praise for Sal y Limon! A perfect restaurant in my books!
