Great place for food but it is pricey. Lots of exotic fruits and vegetables that are hard to find. There's something for everyone at the public market :) currently no extra vendors due to covid :( some of the buskers are very good entertainment

Although a tourist trap with crowds, the public market is fun to walk through and grab a bite. For something light, The Stock Market sells small bowls of warm soup. The chicken curry soup was refreshing. Go outside and eat it along the water.

This place is several city blocks large, you'd need a while day to really enjoy the place. Great for all your tourist gift shopping needs. There's ferries to take you to downtown and you can walk south if you need to. There's paddleboat rentals as well. Things here are handcrafted and get very pricey. Great food options. And there's a whole fresh produce market, fish market and butcher shop. There's a children's market as well for all things toys.

A perfect place for foodies! On a lovely summer day in July, we enjoyed our trip to Granville Public Market so very much!! From fresh fruit & vegetables to a variety of prepared food options, there’s something for everyone. We sat outside for a bit and enjoyed the beautiful views before and after enjoying the food and desserts. Would definitely go back if we’re ever in Vancouver again!!

So lovely here! Very quaint local public market, antique vibe, hangars transformed into cute little local shops, views in every direction, art everywhere, cozy little streets, boathouses, hotels and restaurants , street performers are all here. There's also rental bikes, plenty of parking (free after 5 pm daily), and an actual covered market. Food there can be a hit and miss, so is the service sometimes, but overall prices are good, restaurants are plentiful, atmosphere is charming, so overall it's a must visit! As a local I'm there regularly just strolling and visiting with friends for a bite. Definitely a destination for everyone, tourists or locals, groups, families, or solo explorers

Granville Public Market is a vibrant and essential destination in Vancouver, representing local culture. Its lively atmosphere and diverse array of local vendors offer a unique glimpse into the city's culture. While there, don't miss the opportunity to embark on a scenic ferry tour through False Creek. This experience provides stunning views of the city from the water, making it a perfect complement to the market visit. Whether you're a food lover, a shopper, or simply in search of a lively cultural experience, Granville Public Market and its surrounding attractions are not to be missed."

This is a great market to visit. You can find lots of fresh and different foods, ingredients and more and just by going there is a great thing to do by itself. Try the food from the market and walk around to discover new flavors, ingredients, artwork and more. You can buy your food, seat outside watching the amazing view from False Creek and just be happy. Like really happy.

This is a must-go place when visiting Vancouver. Nice view and places to eat. Also, there is a market where you can find groceries, fresh fruit, fish and more. It is a nice place to sit while having a delicious coffee. If you like art you can find art galleries around.

This is one of the interesting tourist attractions. The market has a lot of interesting things and exotic fruits. The market is very well kept and clean. The food court was a bit limited, food was overpriced and didn’t have much taste. They also have ferry close by to take you to Aquatic center for $3.

If you only have time to visit one place in Vancouver make it Granville Island. We took the ferry here from Yale Town and it was just the perfect day. Great food, great crafts, and a lovely setting. Try everything, then, if the weather suits, step outside on the terrace to eat your bounty and admire the views. But leave time - it was only as we left we realised there was so much more to this place than the food halls – there are so many other buildings with arts and crafts scattered around here, and we wished we’d spent the whole day here.

One of the best public markets I have ever visited. Some amazing food options available here. Also a beautiful lookout point with views of the city skyline and the river. A must visit for every tourist in Vancouver.

Very busy spot with scenic views of the mountains and skyline. Expensive products but that’s to be expected at these types of markets. Lots of people sat outside eating fish and chips as it was a sunny day. I went on a Sunday around lunchtime so it was filled with tourists and locals, and had to slide past people inside the markets, it was so crammed. I’d recommend going early to avoid the crowds.

Awesome place to visit to soak up the atmosphere, be amazed at all the fresh produce, meats, cheese, coffee and desserts for sale, as well as the many restaurants selling lots of variety of foods from all different cuisines. Lots of areas to sit inside with tables and chairs, as well as outdoor seating to enjoy the music. Get here by water on ferries or by road on public transport or cars

Another place I love to visit. Parking is a pain if you don’t get there early. I came around eleven and it was still quite hunt. It’s better to park in the open lots rather than paid parking garages. In one garage we had to u turn around at a dead end and maneuver around the cars looking for parking behind us to get out after unsuccessfully searching for parking. Never again. I adore the waterfront, the performers, the diversity of food and vendors, and people/boat watching. You can easily spend a good couple hours here.

Very busy during peak hours. Quiet in the evening when I was there, but most places were closed. The market is wonderful, lots of fresh produce and yummy coffee. Easily accessible washrooms. There are often people playing music in the center, which is lovely to sit and enjoy a bite to eat or coffee. Nearby there are many gift shops, restaurants, and tour boat excursions.

This is an absolutely wonderful market style place to spend some time looking at all of the wonderful food for sale! The sights, sounds, colors, smells are so fantastic! All the feels! Fresh produce and meat. Many brunch and lunch options. Beautiful picturesque, outdoor patio seating for dining on trays purchased at the market

Love the Granville Island Public Market! I always try to visit when I'm in Vancouver. It's got something for everyone: savoury, sweets, and more. You could spend a whole day eating here! I highly recommend A La Mode pie shop. Their soup puff pastry is perfect for the cold weather. I also recommend the Granville Island Tea Company. They have such a large assortment, and the tins make great souvenirs or gifts for friends/family back home.

I love bringing out of town guests to Granville Island as there is so much to do & eat here! Lots of local crafty items and a haven for foodies. Definitely need to bring an empty stomach when you visit. Make sure you come earlier as parking can be a challenge. Rather than taking the car, take the local bus or ride on the Aqua Bus. For foodies, the food options are endless ranging from specialty soups to local cheeses. I recommend you shop a bit, take a food break, and repeat often. There’s even a few dining places and a couple of hotels here. There is also a local brewery and a kids market. A great place to spend a few hours here and have a great experience here for all ages.

Bustling, busy, tourist destination on Granville Island in Vancouver. Extremely busy on weekends. Take a water taxi or public transportation unless you plan to arrive before 11, because parking is limited ($) and driving is congested. Some farm stand vendors with fresh produce and lots of specialty food item vendors. Lots of places to order food to eat inside or out on the waterfront deck. Expect crowds. Bring your own bags for shopping. Fun place to go with a group or a family, since everyone can choose their favorite food and drink in the food hall and all eat together at the picnic tables. Make sure you check out the rest of the small island when you visit. Walking paths, playground, art studios, artisan shops, stores and a few other restaurants and breweries besides the Granville Public Market options.

Nice quaint little area with a pretty nice market. In terms of scale, it's nothing like Seattle's Pike Market. BUT it's nicely organized, and still worth a look. On top of that though, it's not just a market to buy trinkets and things, the surrounding area actually has improv theaters to enjoy shows at and art galleries, that are worth checking out!

  • 5/5 S 6 months ago on Google
Vibrant place with a great mix of artisan shops, eateries and mixed market. Lots of food choices in the area and inside the actual market hall and a number of very nice and more unusual shops and workshops.

Absolutely worth a visit!! Awesome selection and service!! I’d stay away from the fruit stands though. That’s a tourist trap . The most likely fruit comes from the stores (I saw them transferring fruit from Costco style boxes into the paper baskets they sell them in)

I had planned so much to do on the day we were going to Granville Island but a friend said that I can easily spend the whole day at the public market, so I cleared up our schedule and had Granville Island the only itinerary for the day. Was she ever right! Such a shopping haven! We lost ourselves browsing at all the shops with unique things to offer and the prices were great! Not at all tourist prices which I loved! My daughter didn’t want to leave but the shops were starting to close down, so we had no choice. 😂 That shows you how long we have been there. Definitely a must in Vancouver!

Lovely place. I went here too late, an hour before the market closes. So some venders were closing their stores, others had limited menu options. Farmers market was great. We bought locally grown veggies and fruits and enjoyed them during our travel :)

Just the perfect place to have a fun Sunday, good food. Love to shop in small stores with local products. I just love it The German place that sell sausage its delicious 😋

First time there, it was really quite awesome! Great food places. I'm assuming the donuts are amazing but the line had about 50+ people in it and we had to get going. We ate at the perogi place, had amazing sausage perogi and beer! Service was great. Nice to have the little patio so you can sit and eat. Easy to get to by water taxi (and cheap) or you can drive there but the parking is a bit hectic. Loved the variety of vendors! Came back for dinner one night at the Sandbar which we highly recommend!

This is my third time I am going to Granville. Amazing experience. We took 40mins boat ride, it is recommended to all atleast for one time. Market place is the best for local and international food. Must try Canale ftom La Bise❤️. All together Grandville Island will give you the best weekend experience. Thank you Granville❤️

I love this public market. I always go back when I’m in Vancouver area. They have great food and drinks. During the holidays they have additional gift vendors as well. I highly recommend some pastries from Stuart’s bakery…I’d get the cinnamon wheel!

You can spend an entire day eating, shopping, snacking, drinking coffee, Socializing & walking around exploring. What a great place to go. I had an amazing day with friends and I absolutely recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Bunch of nice restaurants and bars . Ample amount of parking and live music outside in the common foyer . Farmers market with a lot of local vendors available in the market with fresh fruits vegetables and meat. Also the location is perfect, right next to the waters. Highly recommend this place if you are in Vancouver

  • 5/5 Sabrina P. 1 year ago on Google
Must go if visiting Vancouver! There are so many ways to easily access the island- via Ferry or driving, all of which take less than 15 minutes if near the downtown core. The market is open every day, but some shops are closed on varying days of the week or have different hours. If you want to avoid the crowds, go before 11 am when parking is free and the lines are not yet long. After 11 am more of the art, sculpture and galleries are open, but expect some lines for food stalls and seating options. Watch out for seagulls, they will steal your food right out of your hands if given the chance.

Reeeeeally glad we came here. So many boutique style stores to shop at, loads of entertainment and eateries. We had loads of delicious food and sat outside in the sun watching the boats on the water with musicians in the background. So nice! Allocate time to walk around and explore/eat. Also I wouldn’t attempt driving - parking is super limited and traffic in the area is hectic.

Cool place to grab fresh fruits and seafood. Great vibe. Very clean. I'm definitely going back. You can taxi a boat from Granville and do some sightseeing.

Fun place for lunch. Bustling, lots of choices. I had soup and rice from Chau Veggie Express. Hubby ordered yummy fried chicken wings from the Thai spot and a hotdog from Kaisereck Deli. They were all enjoyable. Seats are limited but you can take the food outside if the weather permits.

A nice place to spend a sunny day. Some good food options, some very nice art work, very interesting colorful shops, breweries, kids play area, fruit vendors. Enough paid parking. Good place to spend saturday mornings.

We had a blast exploring this beautiful market and restaurant area. So many lovely shops, bakeries and handcrafted jewelry and wares! Oh, my! We would’ve enjoyed it more if we had found the restaurant side before lunch. Still enjoyed our time and actually went back. Certainly worth exploring. As we rode in on the bus, the Hop on, Hop off tour, our bus driver warned us about the seagulls. They will steal your lunch. They are no ordinary seagulls. They are huge, and ready to swoop down for your food. We actually saw a lady lose her large slice of pizza to a seagull.

Granville Island is all about the markets, if your a local great place to buy your produce. Lots of local treats and arts/craft and plenty of places to eat, all affordable. Tours can also be booked and a short ferry ride around the harbour. Cantina restaurant was my favourite, tacos were delicious and a great Mexican theme. Probably need a good 3 hours to walk around including lunch.

I love this place!! So many good food places, cute shops and souvenirs, and great place to walk around and soak in the fresh air by the water!! Parking can be hard but there are a few parking garages. Our parking machine was wonky so we had to walk over to another garage to find a machine that worked. You might have to download their app too. It’s worth it to spend time at this amazing market and collection of everything else!

  • 5/5 Megan W. 2 years ago on Google
Busy place but food was excellent and the variety of produce, restaurants, small shops, and sitting area was top tier. Would recommend visiting, but be prepared for a bit of wait time for food and tables!

  • 5/5 Pooja P. 1 year ago on Google
The public market of Granville Island, overlooking the sea view of the peninsula. It is a fantastic market to walk around and taste various foods. There are lots of food stalls, as well as fresh fruit, veg and fish. We tried some amazing local delicacies of 'candied salmon'. Some of the food prices are a bit higher than elsewhere but I suppose this reflects the independent food stalls. Definitely worth a visit!

  • 4/5 Andree L. 1 year ago on Google
A food and artisan market on a small island. There's also lots of shops selling clothes, shoes, gifts etc, plus a whole section for kids with lots of toys for sale. Some of the whale watching tours start from here too. Prices are fairly high, especially in the food market hall, but the quality of the food is generally good. Take your food outside and sit on one of the many patios and enjoy the views of False Creek and downtown. Often very busy. The nearby park to the east offers shade and a bit of tranquility, plus a lovely splash park for the kids (all for free, even the fabulous water slide!). An essential part of any visit to Vancouver!
