Looking for a top-notch AYCE in Vaughan? Well, look no further than ICHIKI. In case you'd like more than Japanese, it has Thai too. If you'd like to order at your own pace, they use tablet menus. And if you wish orders would all show up at your table, I'd say come here for a pleasant meal experience. We were more than happy to try their less common AYCE items such as the refreshing beef & butterfish tataki with ponzu sauce, and the smoky beef torched sushi. Their sashimi tasted fresh and pieces were cut in good size portions. Hot takoyaki balls, crispy coconut shrimps and satay chicken skewers were all on point so we got a second serving. Their grilled squid was fairly tender and flavorful too. Other typical items were on the menu, and we couldn't resist the desserts such as fried milk even after a full meal. Good thing we made a reservation because it was completely packed! Once seated, our service was attentive and expeditious in this modern looking restaurant. We didn't wait more than a few minutes before our dishes started to arrive steadily. It's true they charge a few bucks more than usual AYCE but we felt the meal was well worth it. ICHIKI offers decent Japanese & Thai fare. So how did a star go missing in this review? Our sushi rolls were a little sloppy but hopefully this was just an off-night. There were plenty of more exciting items to avoid filling ourselves on rice in rolls!

Pretty decent spot to grab some Japanese and Thai food! The staff were patient and willing to help you at any time. The food was good and came out fast so we didn’t have to wait too long. They have some unique items on the menu that other places don’t have. However, the reason why this place is not a 5/5 in my eyes is because the quality of some of the food is okay (not bad but not great) and I’ve definitely had better elsewhere (such as the Takoyaki). Overall, I had a good time here and will definitely come again soon.

Okay, if you want a simple regular mediocre experience and some sushi, this is not a bad place at all. But when it comes to details and authenticity, it’s a no. All our appetizers were so underwhelming. The gyoza came in a pool of soy sauce, the crab wontons were soggy, the spring rolls were really bland sadly, and the chicken dishes were so salty and portly presented. Not to mention, the takoyaki balls were just a pool of mayo. Again, the food was just ehh. Honestly, the best thing we had there was mango ice cream. I think you need to go into that restaurant with an understanding that you can get the same quality food and sushi at Galleria. Not trying to bash this restaurant at all, but it really was disappointing. But the staff was really sweet to us!!!!!!!

Food was good, little on the pricy side. Wasn't too happy about "all-you-can-it" as the only option available. Maybe because it was Mother's day weekend. Overall good service, could work on cleanliness a little more. One of the orders had to be placed again as they somehow missed it. Busy place.

Really great place to go out with your family or friends! Absolutely love their sushi and how fast their service is! Super fresh and delicious! This is our go to place for all you can eat sushi. Everything is great but some of their staffs are really rude specially during the last hour before closing, other than that it’s a great place.

The place was full for dinner and seems popular with people, none-the-less we got a seat right away. I liked the idea of Japanese and Thai AYCE, however we ordered mostly the more Japanese dishes. The Thai dishes looked fine, just looked a bit filling if you’re trying to sample the menu. The sushi and sashimi were great and the meat items were just as good. The service was quick and we got our orders quicker than most AYCE places. It is a bit pricey when you compare it to others so eat by value to get your money’s worth.

Where do I begin… Ichiki has been my go to sushi spot for all you can eat since my family and I discovered it about 4 years ago. It remains our favourite spot EVER and has yet to be beaten… It’s a bit pricey, but the most you’ll end up paying is $42.93 (tax included for a regular weekend dinner price at most, & lunch prices are even cheaper, although you get less menu options). It is definitely worth the price. I usually get my money’s worth through eating about 35 pieces of sashimi alone (not including all the sushi I eat, etc.)! They never shrink portion sizes either, what you order is what you get, so they don’t really seem to try and cheat you out by giving you smaller and smaller portions as some other places do. The food is always amazing quality, the portions are large, and the service is usually very fast! I have brought friends and family here, all of whom have returned to Ichiki as repeat customers multiple times — even sometimes without me present! Unashamedly, I have been multiple times in the past two months, and I crave it almost everyday. My favourite roll is the firework roll: it’s like a warm, spicy huh for your mouth! The sashimi is always of excellent quality, buttery and melt-in-your-mouth with excellent fresh flavours (even on busy nights like a Saturday!). It is my favourite place to eat after a heavy lifting day in the gym. Not pictured: Ichiki’s iconic short ribs. If you go, you *must* try them. They are a staple for anyone’s all you can eat experience! The first time my brother and I had Ichiki, we each had about 25 short ribs! The rice is also amazing, I can’t describe how moist (?) yet chewy it is. Like proper fried rice, since I know some places (especially takeout places) tend to have very dry fried rice. There are 5 options of rice: plain Japanese, chicken, beef, shrimp, and pineapple fried rice. I recommend all, but especially the chicken fried rice! Again, great portion sizes and *actual* chunks of chicken, not dry or too tiny. As you can see, I can go on and on about this place. But don’t listen to me, try it out for yourself! ;)

We went here based on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is comfortable and seemed very clean. We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated shortly after. The staff were friendly and efficient and our orders came out quickly even though it seemed to be a busy period. Ordering is done via a tablet which I have seen in a few places before. Pro tip - don't order everything and then hit send. Break up your orders and send in waves to ensure a steady stream of food and reduce waiting times. Both the food and sushi were good. The rolls and fish were fresh and we'll prepared. We didn't try a lot of hot food dishes but we were impressed with how hot and fresh the sweet and sour chicken was. We will definitely revisit here again.

My review is based on takeout. Service was quick. Had the Golden Spicy Salmon Roll and the Maki combo. Food was good and reasonably priced. The soy sauce was unusually salty.

Love the quality, freshness and presentation of everything. The only complaint is that a lot of appetizers and tataki are served in a very sweet sauce that is almost like a syrup, so everything takes on that flavour. Not everyone likes their fish with sugar. It's an easy fix, just use a regular ponzu sauce, but they said they don't have that. I hope they can fix this to make it 5 stars. All appetizers in the picture have the same sauce.

This place is on the fastest decline I’ve ever seen. I used to come often pre-pandemic and have come here a couple of times since but it’s gone so downhill. Tonight, we arrived for a late dinner at 9pm. They didn’t give us an option for AYCE or a La carte and immediately automatically programmed the iPad for AYCE. They said we’d have until 9:45 to place orders for food but instead rushed us to place the last order at 9:25. They said they closed at 10:30, but at 10:05 were rushing us to play, clear our plates and THEN tried to charge us a $12 up charge for the food that we weren’t given the time to eat. The service was obviously terrible and the quality of food was gross. The ramen was cold and the sushi rice was hard. Will never return.

Not authentic Japanese cuisine. Food feels cheap, but at a high price. Ordered Pad Thai to start. Plate was completely saturated in sauce. No peanuts added, when asked server said they do not have such luxury. Tried Ramen but had a strange odor and cheap instant noodles. Finally got a sushi plate. Sushi was OK at best, but not what you'd expect from a place at this rating. Seems like this place used to be good pre pandemic but the new ownership is a sinking ship. Spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else.

Decided to have a la carte instead of the usual all you can eat. Food is prepared differently, but not as many selection when compared to all you can eat menu. Bit on the pricey side, but the food is fresh. Nice atmosphere and places for large groups.

Nice place. Lots of options to pick from, including vegetarian. On the pricey side and charge for tea, which is ridiculous! After charging $34+tax per adult and $17+tax for a 5-year old, they want $1.5 per tea!

Great all you can eat buffet. Tasty appetizers. The torched and flamed sushi, short ribs, beef, tempura vegetables, salad… the taste was spot on. The hot and sour soup could be better however overall this place is worth going back. Lastly their customer service, the ladies were responsive and kind.

more than 10 times I’ve been here but only for good food, not the service. The servers looks unpleasant and never leave smile on their face.

The atmosphere was good so we thought we'd give it another try. One waitress poured tea on the table and through our food every time she refilled our cups. We had to keep mopping it up with napkins. My son and husband had the octopus balls and suffered for it all afternoon (it was the one thing I didn't eat). We won't be back.

At Ichiki Japanese Restaurant, we tried their all-you-can-eat menu with a group of four. The variety of food choices was impressive, allowing us to sample a little bit of everything. The portions were generous—we even had leftovers to take home. However, the service was a tad slow, which affected our experience. Nonetheless, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience :)

Went here for all you can eat dinner. Service was spectacular!! However, food was just okay. I was upset that when I asked for rice rolls I was told no.. I hate seaweed. Ate it anyways along with almost everything else on the menu. It came up to $90 (for two) after tip!! To me, this is too expensive for what was offered. Terryaki chicken was actually my favourite dish. Sesame balls were also great. I wouldn't go back based on food quality and price.

One of the best sushi restaurant we went to. The service is fast and the sushi serving was big. It was a bit expensive but I loved the desert that we ordered, green tea ice, crème brûlèe and tiramisu..

I walked in with my husband for all you can eat lunch. We looked at the iPad menu and they didn’t have scallop, fried calamari, or salmon rose. The menu was very basic. Their special rolls was all shrimp based. We ended up leaving before ordering anything. It was disappointing. For $28 I would have expected more.

Food and selection is very good. I find the place clean/sanitary. The only thing I feel they can work on is the personnels who waits on the table needs some training on table etiquette. They reach over the grab plates on the center of the table and several times the armpit is just a few inches away from my face. I know they are trying to clean up the table to make room for the next order, but, they should like in my place, wait for the customer to put it on the side. Anything else, they are courteous when you ask something and respond to it. If they can work on it, then it will be very enjoyable place to have family dinner. I rate it 4 just for that fact. I still will recommend it as a place to eat.

Be aware! We dined at Ichiki tonight with our 3-year-old daughter. Though she barely touched the steamed rice, a waitress approached us quite rudely, insisting we pay $27 for an all-you-can-eat menu for our daughter. She even went as far as moving food away from our daughter. We were taken aback by this unnecessary behavior. Despite the restaurant being busy, that's no excuse for such treatment. We left without finishing our meal due to the unpleasant experience. The food wasn’t great also!

First time and last time! Very disappointed. Ordered Chashu ramen they gave me a bowl of instant noodles which was so freakin salty. I could have made this at home and taste 5x better.
