I wish i could have given 0 * the food was pathetic and worst. I would recommend if you dont wanna waste your money better dont go there. I have tried so many Indian restaurants in past 5 years and this was the worst. The only good thing was ambience nothing else. The food quality, serving and the behaviour of the servers was so rude no one even bothered to ask how was the food? And when we still went and told them about our feedback they were like we are least concerned and have not given any kind of discount. This is the first time we have left the food and did not pack it as well. They should upgrade their food quality and service also. Worst worst worst!!! When asked for some concession they said we will give in your next visit like seriously? Do you guys even think we will come back again in your restaurant? Never and will suggest my family and friends also to not go over there unless u wanna waste your money. Note: no use of owner response because they just response here in reviews but when you email them they are least bothered to even reply back or call to learn about the issue that shows how hypocrite the owner is also.

Super pricy for an Indian restaurant. I understand they want to charge premium but this was atrocious- we ordered for a starter platter and they charged 45$ for like 12 pieces of meat (chicken 3 types and 4pcs of prawns) tooo costly. The platter was cold … definitely not worth the 45$. Butter chicken was more like sugar chicken.. the only thing I liked there was their naan! Garlic naan especially .. mutton gravy was okish. The ambiance and customer service was good though ! But not worth my money so Definitely not coming back or suggesting this restaurant to anyone.

The service was good however I feel all the positive reviews are fake as the food tasted really bad. The Kadai paneer was sweet the dal makhani was bland and the harlyali chicken seemed old and tasteless. Do not recommend this place at all. The prices are ridiculous for what they serve.

Hidden gem for amazing Indian food in Vaughan. The service was slow and could be improved, but with that being said I will definitely be returning because how good the food is. I highly recommend getting the Chicken Momos, Chicken Tikka and the Chicken Tikka Masala Curry. Each dish was packed with flavor, leaving you wanting more. Fairly price as well.

Definitely a hidden gem! Make sure you can tolerate spice, medium is very spicy for those who cant tolerate spice!

This used to be one of my absolute favourite Indian restaurants but the most recent visit here was absolutely terrible! The quality of the food has gone downhill and the prices are not justified. All the recent positive reviews are mind boggling and you have to wonder if these are fake. We ordered the “Nacho’s chaat” and “fried paneer balls” to start. We asked the server what the “nacho chaat” was because the description on the menu was “crispy wafers” and we didn’t want to be served nacho chips. The server informed us it was a paapdi chaat. Lo and behold what we were served was nacho chips topped with yogurt/chutney/spices. This was the first disappointment - note that this cost $8! The fried paneer balls were fine but also a bit disappointing. While you could taste the paneer, it was mashed up with other ingredients, coated and fried. The paneer makhani was fine, but portion sizes have significantly decreased and prices have gone up. A small serving cost $17! The naan was absolutely terrible - small, thin and crispy and lacking in taste. The service was about the same as it has always been - slightly awkward servers and not very friendly and welcoming; which has never been a bother in the past because the food was so amazing and worth coming back for. Left here extremely disappointed and will not be returning! Edit: since my negative review, there have been 11 other 5 star reviews within 1 day! No other restaurant in the area has anywhere near 1000 reviews and it’s a little odd how many reviews mention the name of the server when the servers never introduce themselves nor do they wear name tags. I would question the authenticity of the numerous 5 star reviews.

Had a great lunch experience. Was recommended to us by a friend. Ordered the mango paneer, lamb curry, chicken karahi, biryani, and mango Lassi (drink). For spice level, we ordered mild and medium, which was fine. For the more spicy-inclined people, I would probably order extra spicy with extra hot sauce on the side because the medium was basically as spicy as yogurt (meaning not spicy at all). For everyone else who don't have iron tongues, medium and potentially spicy wouldn't hurt. The server was very helpful in her recommendations, and the kitchen was prompt with making the food. We might have ordered a bit more than we can eat, as the small containers may be a bit misleading, so we had to take out some leftovers. The atmosphere was very classy and clean. The food itself is a bit on the pricy side. Overall, I had a pleasant eating experience.

In the name of Indian restaurant worst taste ever. We tried their kadai paneer which was a joke in itself. Sorry to say but only you're abience had 5 star but Food was terrible you should definitely work on food quality and taste. There are so many restaurants in GTA who only has take out but way better taste than urban Maharajas. Invest you're money in cook than outdoor features so that people can come next time. Malai kofta was at least eatable but no the great as we expected, dal tadka and jeera rice we order just to fill our stomach, garlic naan had all sort burned garlic chunks on it mango Lassi and mix platter was only good item for which I am giving 1 stars otherwise on main course you deserve negative ratings. And another star was for that little girl who served us well with prompt and provided great customer service.

I recently dined at this restaurant and it has a great Indian atmosphere that made me feel like I was in India. We went there on a weekday, and the place had a lively vibe. The service was good, and our server was friendly, which added to the experience. The standout dish was the Hariyali Tikka, which was full of delicious flavors and left a memorable impression. However, the Biryani, while decent, didn't quite live up to our flavor expectations. What stood out to me was their willingness to make Aloo Paratha for us, even though they had run out. I guess as it was made quickly, it didn't quite reach the level of excellence. To sum it up, it's a restaurant with a fantastic Indian ambiance, friendly service, and fairly average dishes.

Visited Urban Maharaja on Saturday 21May 2022 around 60pm , the ambiance is good, There were many tables empty as we entered, later filled up slowly. It has party hall with entry from left side of the building. I opted for Samosa n bhel puri n masala tea. Ms son n daughter in-law opted for alu parota, chicken items. Samosa was good ,not deep fried it was Air fried, served with cabbage strings n tomato ketchup. Bhel puri was too much sour, they had put lot of tamarind juice in it . couldn't eat it . it had nothing in it n they don't know how to make bhel puri. It had spoiled ground nuts, may very old , onion pieces n little chill in it. I asked for sweet chutney the attendant said they don't have sweet chutney or mint chutney, it was impossible to eat, a whole lot of tamarind was in it , The service is very slow only two girls were there to attend all the tables after some time when she was visible I asked for some sugar.. I put more than two spoons of sugar to be able to eat it .I advice people not to order for bhel puri. Tea was OK.. They didn't serve anything with aluparota , she just placed it on the table n disappeared. After sometimes another attendant was seen we asked for some curds n pickles to be served with she got it.. Service is very slow, not at all satisfied . Don't get fooled by the name Urban Maharaja.. There's no smile or interest in attending girls face, one girl who is at the desk also serves food ,she looked very pale n tired not interested to welcome you nor served happily. Very disappointing experience. Beware, don't go by 4 stars I don't know who n why gave it😂😖😫

We recently went to Urban Maharajas for the second time. The experience was great as it was the first time. The food we ordered was delicious. Our sons love it and say the naan is their favourite they have ever had. Both times we had the same waitress/host. I believe her name is Astha (recently moved from Delhi). She recognized us as soon as we arrived. She is always polite and professional. We are definitely going back.

I went with my friends last week and the food was amazing. The staff were great and extremely nice and friendly. We had a good time. We tired atleast 10 of their dishes and the chilli cauliflower and the lamb chops were the best even thought the rest of the dishes we tried were still absolutely delicious. We greet the chef before we leave and thanked him for the tasty dishes. I would definitely recommended going here if you love Indian food. The ambience was really nice and the interior design of the restaurant was pretty.

We were four people looking to dine in and just came here as it was nearby. Was not expecting fine dining but it was indeed a good visit. The interiors and menu are really good. The service was pretty good too....shout out to the server; her name was Ram. (if not mistaken). Their prices are reasonable. We spent near to 180$ on the table of four and had some leftovers too. A bit disappointed with the food. We ordered the veg platter, chat papri, dal makhani, paneer kadhai, paneer saag, butter chicken, rice and bread and drinks. Veg platter:- Samosa and aloo Tikki seem frozen. The accompanying chutney was very watery. Paneer Kadhai:- Seems that it was not simmered well.was closing time and they might be in a rush to close down. Paneer saag:- We were expecting it to be mild and flavourful, but it was bland on spices and okayish. Butter Chicken:- The chicken was tender enough and was melting in the mouth. Salty Lassi:- The taste was good but it was not chilled. Seems that it was at room temp. Bread:- All the bread were lacking salt. It would be excellent bread if had some added salt to it.

my husband and I visited this restaurant and had a lifetime of experience there. The ambience and food were amazing, had variety of north Indian appetizers and main course. The music was so appropriate and last but not the least, they provided us wonderful service, the staff is very friendly and cooperative. I recommend this restaurant 100%!!

Very good ambience and service! Loved the hospitality and the taste of the food! We ordered butter chicken and mutton rogan josh and mutton was good! Tandoori chicken was also good. Their desserts, Gulab Jamun and mango rasmalai were very good. However just a suggestion to the team that organic reviews are always better than bribed ones. Also I am sure that a 5 star review is worth much more than a price of a rasmalai :)

I would rate it 0.5 stars if I could. Me and my family went here for a family dinner today and the food was the most disgusting food I’ve had. We got the crispy chicken momos, butter chicken poutine, lamb platter, chicken tikka, chilli cauliflower. Out of everything just the momos and the cauliflower were decent. The rest smelled like raw meat. Told the server she substituted the lamb for chicken and again same thing raw smell, tasted like it had been frozen for too long and then put in the oven and served. On top of that they still charged us for the food that we complained about, & mind you the plates were given back full with barely any food missing from them. Even the courtesy wasn’t there, we still left a tip because the server was nice but the manager shouldn’t even be a manager as he/she didn’t care about the experience that consumers had. Plus the sauces WERE WATER, you couldn’t even dip anything in them it’s like u were dipping your food into water. HORRIBLE restaurant, horrible management.

Worst food ever. We especially asked for medium spicy but when we tasted the chicken, it was too damn spicy. Apart from this the chicken was too hard. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Love this restaurant! The food is awesome and the atmosphere is great. I found the service to be excellent. Simran took great care of us, as well as the other servers who came to repeatedly ask how we were doing. They were attentive, explaining about everything we ordered. I would definitely recommend Urban Maharajas Vaughan!

Went for team dinner. Some dishes like aloo tikki chat and Kadhai Paneer were amazing but some dishes like Veg. Biryani and Dal tadka were way off from authentic taste. Veg Biryani was more like over steamed pulav and dal tadka was just thick paste made from boiled lentils. Hospitality from servers was unprofessional - no politeness. Appetizers and main course was served together. 15% Service charge was added to bill without consent and reason was given as group was of more than 6 people.

Service staff: 4.5 stars Appetizers & Drinks: 4.5 stars Entrees: 2.5 stars The ratings is based on the items that we ordered. We were a group of 4 adults & 3 kids on a Sunday around 9 pm. They were out of some of the items. Appetizers were really nice and will be definitely be back to have them. However not so much when it comes to the entrée items. May be they have other items that are better made but the ones we ordered was not good. Check out the pics uploaded to know what items we ordered.

The food was pretty good, the paneer makhni was the best, Chloe was okay it lacked the Resturant flavour though I was hoping for more flavours. Overall great place. Losing a point because they have a event area on the top floor but it doesn’t have a door so the party upstairs was so loud and ruined the whole ambiance. It was our first time but I wouldn’t recommend coming when there is a party it’s not at all enjoyable with so much noise

The ambience and music was great. The food is good but the customer service is even better. We were served by Sneha who was very polite and gave us good recommendations. It’s a nice place for a brunch or dinner with friends and family.

1.) very bad food. Dal makhani is like water. Butter chicken was tasteless. Worst Indian food I’ve had. 2.) the menu is a piece of paper with oil stains. 3.) they charge you for onions 4.) they have very small interior. It looks nothing like the google photos 5.) wont be back again. Please hire a proper chef.

Terrible and extremely overpriced. No wonder they didn’t have a single customer. If there was an option for a 0 rating, that’s what this place would deserve!!

Ambiance is nice but the food isn’t that great. Spice level was okay. Our host treated us good. Curry was better than the shrimps and our naan bread was also okay. You can’t go wow with their food. I know a better place than this.
