After being a long time customer of the Szechuan Express in the Eaton Centre when I worked downtown, we went to the sit down restaurant at Vaughan Mills. Nice atmosphere, very clean. Menu offerings are plates to be shared. Our selections included Crispy Ginger Beef (my favourite and very difficult to find a good one) and Sesame Chicken with two orders of steamed rice. The food comes out very quickly but in no way seems like it was sitting around in a hot table (be prepared for it to be the temperature of the sun if you dive in too quickly). Crispy Ginger Beef was just like I remembered it. Hot, crispy with ginger and heat and perfectly paired with steamed rice. Sesame Chicken was good but not nearly as good as the beef. Servings were generous with enough leftovers for another meal for two (need to add steamed rice). Staff were very attentive and even brought over a pitcher of water for the table when they saw our water glasses emptying. Just a warning that drinks are not refillable.

I came by for a quick takeout lunch meal & was pleasantly surprised by the decent flavours of the crispy Cantonese chow mein. While the noodles were not crispy, the dish was loaded with chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushroom & other vegetables that soaked up the delicious savoury sauce. We also added a cream corn soup that hit the spot too. I’ve had the Szechuan Chicken before and it’s one of my fav dishes when it’s made well. This restaurant has a mash of different menu items including pho, sushi & Thai curry as well. It doesn’t have to be perfectly authentic to be a good option at the mall!

Was my very first (and last) time ordering anything from here. I decided to go with the ginger beef. What I actually received could be called, Charred and Burnt, Blackened Beef. I was starving and tried a few pieces, It had a strong burnt and sooty flavour, but at the same time was extremely sweet. How any chef would think this is acceptable to serve and pass standards is mind boggling.

We were the last customer that day, and we had a great dinner overall. I love everything we ordered, especially the mango salad, it's a must try. Can't wait to go back there again.

Each time passing by this restaurant when I come to shopping Vaughan Mill. Seeing it always beating flies most of the times, wanted to support them. But each times, wanted to try their sweet dessert / tong-sui, definitely they said, “ Not available today, already finished.” They had two sections…..on the right side was a good decorated Chinese restaurant and on the left side was just a casual food stall. I think their food price in casual food stall is pricey and hardly for me to order here because Westernized Chinese foods like poke bowl is hard for me to digest and confuse. Is it same as mixed rice? Lol?

Talk about getting your money worth! We ordered an appetizer plus two main courses for under $55.00 CAD. Comparing to other similar restaurants, the portion size is way more than what you would expect! SERVICE Top notch! Friendliest staff, super attentive and very polite. The food came out with minimal wait time (5 -8 min max) Food We ordered calamari which didn’t come with a dipping sauce but really didn’t need it. We did get a side of lemon and that really hit the spot. We ordered a special fried rice which came with shrimp, beef and egg and didn’t even need to add any soy sauce. We ordered the Vietnamese beef pho which was amazing. Did ask for Sriracha sauce and they brought it out for us. The serving sizes were so big we had to pack up the fried rice and pho. I just finished re-heating the pho for dinner and now we will have the fried rice for lunch tomorrow. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Szechuan Szechuan is a good Asian cuisine restaurant. Thai and Vietnamese cuisine is probably the highlight. Table/seating service and counter/self service is available in this restaurant take-away counter is also made available separately for customers. I ordered food over the counter, and the staff was courteous to explain about the choices and make it easy to decide my dish. Well maintained restaurant, with Asian style/theme interiors. Food was fresh and well cooked. Soup and monks were fine too. It was a quick lunch for me and I found it worth.

I have been coming here quite often, and as far as food is concerned, today was great. We ordered the vegetarian Spicy Eggplant with 2 sides of rice. What caught my eye, and could potentially serve as a heads-up to anyone reading the review is this: When it came time to pay the bill, I was goinig to use my card. Upon requesting the machine, the wait staff asked for my card, and asked if it was a tap-enabled card. That's when I saw they had actually put 15% for the tip. I wasn't asked, and I didn't input that number. I then asked for the machine to do it myself, lowered the tip amount to what I was comfortable with, and paid. Whether you agree with the tip amount or not, please make sure it is YOU who is entering the % value that you feel most comfortable with. It seems to be poor etiquette for the 'wait staff' to pre-enter a tip amount/percentage.

It is alright. Large venue, nicely decorated. The food is not gourmet but not bad at all, the portions are meant to be shared, the prices are reasonable. 2 entrees and an order of fried rice are more than enough for 2 people. There're not too many restaurants in Vaughan Mills so if you don't feel like eating at a super busy food court, this is the place to go.

Food was a culinary feast, good portion size, flavorful and pleasing presentation - 5 stars. Fairly priced. Server was rude initially. Seated us badly right next to the only other table that was occupied. Extremely rude when asked for washroom location. Became cordial on seeing the size of our order and ended up warm and friendly towards the end of our meal! Washroom - Only 1 stall out of 5 usable.

Worst restaurant experience! We ended up deciding to eat at this place at Vaughan mills and it was our biggest mistake. We ordered the same dish for both me and my husband and my husband’s dish had barely any chicken, and when he asked the person at the counter, he said your wife must have ordered the one with extra chicken and that’s why she’s got more chicken than you. I am attaching our bill to show that we just ordered exactly the same item without any customization. There are no extra chicken or whatever options available at this place. My husband didn’t bother arguing and he just wanted to leave this horrible place and he had lost his appetite. I still wanted to share my experience with the staff at the counter and I was shocked with her behaviour and answer. She tells me “why don’t you give some of your chicken to your husband” I mean seriously? I guess she didn’t have to tell me that, and also had it been a colleague or a friend would you still expect me to do the same? When I told her why would you say such a thing, she just ignored our whole conversation and just randomly moved on. If you want to be treated by arrogant, ignorant, rude restaurant staff who are going to leave you with no appetite this is just the place. And when you read other reviews and talk to people, apparent this place is known for ignorant rude staff

Ordered in direct from them and they said it would be over an hour for delivery - I'm just outside of their delivery area. Came hot and and 20 minutes earlier. I love their General Tsao chicken without spice, and they'll customize just about any dish - I'm not fond of mushrooms and they were left out of all my dishes. I find their food super tasty and portions are quite large! Enough food for 4-6 people under $70. Good value, good food.

I would post a negative star if that was possible. We ordered Chicken & Shrimp Chow mein and it went down hill from there: - Had to wait for 40mins to get the order - They served it when I told them to cancel my order - They didn’t add the Shrimp even though it’s on my bill - Some of the noodles were burnt - Food had no flavour, I think they forgot to add spice or any seasoning I’m never gonna go here again and I request everyone else to please spend your money somewhere else

Kids were hungry after Legoland and this popped up in our path. Glad we stopped by! Mongolian beef was great and so were all the other dishes. Wish they didn't lock up all the patio tables and claim they were all reserved though.

Beautifully decorated Resturant, with delicious food. We had string beans, Szechuan chicken and crispy ginger beef, every bite tasted amazing! Hot & sour soup was yummy && portion sizes were just right! I want to give a huge thanks to Steven for taking such good care of us. His hospitality didn’t go unnoticed. He was attentive, charming, very kind and funny! Deff will be retuning again!

Always eat at the express side but we tried the sit down side for the first time and it was great. The food was very delicious, everything was clean, the atmosphere was good, and the most important thing was the service was amazing. Our servers were really nice and made sure all our needs were met. Was a great experience. Will definitely come again! I highly recommend this place.

This is our go-to place! We've been coming here for 15 years, and will drive an hour just to have our favourite comfort food meals...

    1. Hot and sour soup - Not good, its bit sour and seems like not freshly prepared 2. Chilli chicken - Its crispy and well prepared, probably must try item 3. Shangai Noodles - Not good, Noodles are pretty thick and flavour seems to be bit smoky without much taste. Btw there was no chicken visible in this dish.

Surprise!! Honestly I don’t have any expectation on this restaurant at the beginning. I thought it just one kind of fast food chain in food court, but it is not the same. Beef noodle soup comes a bit spicy, beef is tender and noodle is chewy, overall B+. Chicken Khao Soi is a big surprise. Curry soup carry coconut taste, sweet and hot in balance. Crispy chips and noodle mixed with soup, it’s a perfect combination. It looks a bit pricy but portion is big, also it has good quality. It worth the money.

Authentic szechuan food. The service is great our server made sure that we ordered the kind of noodle that we want by pulling the picture on his cell and he even told us that what we ordered is good enough to feed two people. The thick black bean sea food is delicious the fried rice chicken is also very tasty. The green tea is made on demand and fresh. It does taste better than any other restaurant. A + and a 5 stars. I will come back and take with me my friends and family.

I normally love eating here, the food is usually really tasty. This time I did take out and I was very disappointed by my peking BBQ pork. It was hard to chew and swallow.

2 stars for Effort portion-wise but the chicken wonton noodle soup was nothing out of the ordinary (broth was pretty good)The entire soup was pretty Canadian-ized (for a lack of a better term) I was hoping for more authentic Chinese…. I ordered sushi and the rice was super mushy you could already tell from just seeing it. I’ve had better days at this place.

Review based on Takeout! First time ordering from here. We were very unimpressed. Firstly, the General Tso's came burnt. So burnt we could smell it and it was black all over. They forgot part of our order and we couldn't get through on the phone to them to let them know so that sucked. All the food was completely under-seasoned! We are not picky, in fact we like bland food, however they needed to add salt to their soup and other food! Could not believe how much the food lacked taste. They don't even properly season their fried rice as half the bucket was still white rice. To top that off, we all got sick from their food within a couple hours. So will def be passing.

My wife and I love this place. All the food is very flavourful, has some good heat, and is generally delicious. We generally get various mains with some veggies and rice. There is one server in particular that we get very often and he is so friendly, funny ND helpful. In terms of the negatives, I would say it's not really so much authentic Chinese, but if you're not going for that then it's not really an issue. Also, since we usually stick to the Chinese mains, I couldn't really comment on the other food they have like sushi. The food is a little expensive too, though the portion sizes are very good. Overall, a great place to eat!

The sit down restaurant is not bad but the take out is so bad they charged us for 5 spicy mayo and only gave us 3 also they give very small containers and don't even fill it half way. When I call and tell them that they didn't put me spicy mayo and charged me for it they put the phone down and listen at all until I hang up

They avertise "spicy" food like szechuan chicken but there is no heat at all. Not the least bit spicy. They gave me a tiny packet of hot sauce is that the "spicy"? You would be hard pressed to find a single Scoville unit in this whole dish.

I ate there a few hours ago today with my husband and 10 month old son. The host seemed a little bit off. He seated us at the table in the corner but the place was almost empty so I requested a booth. He hesitated and then allowed us to sit at a half booth. We ordered our food and it was good but the host never checked up on us or topped up our waters. That would be OK but he was doing that for literally everyone else in the restaurant. He was also staring at us consistently throughout our whole meal. Even when we were paying, he was standing in very close proximity and staring intensely at my husband punching in the numbers maybe to force a tip/higher tip? It felt like we were not welcome and he wanted us to leave. I’m not sure why he was like that but it wasn’t a pleasant experience for us and we will not be going back.

I have moderate to severe celiac disease and I am thoroughly impressed with the food I ordered from Szechuan Szechuan. I ate the food last night and have not experienced any symptoms, so it is safe to say that the food I ordered was, in fact, gluten free. Unfortunately, there is no gluten free menu; however, I called them last night (on a Friday night) and a staff member took the time to go through the menu with me and indicate which items were safe to order. I ordered the food for take out and all the gluten free food was labelled and packaged separately. Once again, I am very impressed at the quality of food, service and knowledgable/ helpful staff from this restaurant. I definitely feel safe ordering from here again!

If I can give 0star I will do it! This place have soooooo rude waiter. After we ordered enough food for two people shared, we just start waiting our food and we are hungry so eat one bread. Then have one staff come and ask us “how many years u came to Canada”after we told him he start say “so u should know in the Canada policy u should not eat outside food in the restaurant, cause it will let restaurant lose money” and he also say “I tell u this cause I don’t want u go to HIGH CLASS restaurant and lose CHINESE FACE” It is soooo rude to put the event into another higher level, we try to talk with the manager they send a fake manager to us. So we understood they will not give us polite customer service. The mango salad has something black on the mango, they should keep their eyes on the food safety!
