I'm not a connoisseur of food from the islands as I'm slowly getting accustomed to it I find it more and more better and starting to enjoy my jerk chicken. Friendly staff cleanliness of this place is top notch. Too bad the washrooms are closed but I'm there to eat not to use their washrooms. I tried the chopped up jerk chicken which was very very good some mac and cheese which was excellent and the coleslaw was also very good. The rice provided was also good too much so that I couldn't finish it and I'm a big boy. But what I liked the most was the fried barbecued chicken I think next time I go I will have just a serving of that alone. Stuff is all friendly and helpful will definitely go back. Check them out

Ordered two large jerk chicken tray and goat curry small tray and large rice and peas. The jerk chicken is a bit spicy for me, but others really like it. Just not happy that we ordered ahead of time and confirmed multiple times yet they only gave us one tray and asked us to come back for the second one. We are very grateful that this restaurant has their prices online, not all places do and that they have their catering prices online as well! Edit: we were contacted by either the owner/manager of the place named Beverly who was very nice and apologized for the mix-up and offered to fix the issue and tone down the spice, which is really appreciated.

Amazing place to get some Caribbean food I highly recommend the boneless options and the macaroni salad. Employees are good too. Plenty of clean tables to dine in.

I like a bit of spicy food, but OMG!!! I order about 4 month ago and was also disappointed. Thinking that things might have change I got the jerk chicken and rice and beans 5 hours ago. I am trying to be respectful but it was immensely unpleasant. The chicken looks black. Why?? It's so spicy that I can't taste the actual food. The chicken doesn't taste fresh also. Like honeslty never ordering here again. My mouth and throat has a burning spicy feeling. And it's not a good chilly spicy, it's just cheap Hot, spicy and burning taste. 😫 The price it's great but omg you will save more money if you put less spicy ingredient. Why don't you put it on the side. Because the level of spicy is for people that have a very high tolerance. If you guys change it please email me then you will keep one more customer. Take care. And if I could get my money back will be great!!!!

Where a lot of places go wrong is they look at you as a single transaction, and don't think about your return business. This is not that place. I found this amazing restaurant when looking for a place in the area that could cater/host my son's First Communion luncheon. Reviews were good, so I came by and tried a few things leading up to the date - oxtail, curry goat, fried chicken, stew chicken, chicken soup, macaroni pie and the salads. Everything was fire! Consistently. They don't know how to make anything bad. A bathroom tells you a lot about a place, and the restaurant is CLEAN. Pepper sauce on point. Coleslaw is shredded, portions great, price is a steal. Quality is unbelievable. I spoke to the lovely owner, Beverly, and it was like talking to a long time friend. She is such an honest and genuinely kind person - so clearly passionate about what she does. The staff was accommodating - Bev literally made pepper sauce on the spot because they were out. I've never had the luxury of putting as much oxtail gravy on my rice as I wanted. The food was literally the BEST I've ever had and our guests agreed. We appreciate you, Beverly and team, for the effort, care, and consideration you put into your craft. We look forward to you catering all our family events.

Have been to many Caribbean places but this is one of the best. Just right amount of spice. Fresh, tasty and absolutely delicious. Will definitely return and highly recommend this place. Great portion size and great value. Large dinner plus 2 drinks was under $20. Hard to beat, especially in GTA.

Friendly and always large portions. This is down the street from my work so I always go here for lunch if not on my way home from work. If there is a wait it's no more than 5 minutes if they are busy. Today I ordered a medium and I still can't finish it. Usually I order a large and it's enough for 2 meals for myself or definitely enough to share. If you haven't tried this place, what are you waiting for??

As a born and raised Jamaican I’m familiar with subpar customer service, though I’m not a fan of it. I’ve been buying food from this location for years but the workers there NOW are soooo much more pleasant! The food never disappoints but sometimes a negative encounter can affect the overall experience. Happy I didn’t give up on them, I just might make it one of my regular spots again.

The food here isn't bad and the serving portion size is worth the money. The only thing I don't like is they put way too much gravy on the rice(I'm not a gravy person). Macaroni Salad hands down is the best!! Fried dumpling is perfect for me. Not a fan of the macaroni pie - a little dry. The service could be served with more of a friendly, smiling face I brought someone I recommended and the lady behind the counter was so serious, her responses to questions were so cut off and to the point. Overall, it's definitely a place to get your Caribbean eats on.

First time visiting this restaurant and the first thing I noticed was the smell of the food😍. There was a line out the door, so it shows that this is a go to spot for your Caribbean food cravings. Even though there was a line, the staff served and pumped out the orders in a timely pace. The menu was easy to read and understand, and the macaroni salad that you could see in the food display, looked so mouthwatering...and it was indeed! I would recommend this spot even though only visiting for my first time. It sure won't be my last! Good Job Tropical Island Caribbean Restaurant👍

We had an excellent time here, really hit the spot. The only downside was they are so popular they had already sold out of ackee and salt fish, sucked because we drove 20 minutes out of our way for Jamaican breakfast.

Jerk chicken with rice and peas, oxtail gravy was fantastic! Oxtail was ok but still good. The coleslaw is the better choice over the macaroni. Beef Pattie’s are Tinnels and were also great. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable and good size portions.

Authentic jerk and stew chicken with rice and peas, the meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly and tastes fresh every time. The pasta salad goes well with the meal and I prefer this over the coleslaw. Portions are amazing for the price. It is my go-to spot for Caribbean food in the area, highly recommend!

It's a good place don't get me wrong but I feel like the chicken is a little too soft so I decided to put it in my broiler for some crunch and it only go softer not sure why if it's the quality of the meat or its because it's backed I usually like that plump fresh bounce o the chicken that contains its juices so I hope it gets better been going there for years and every management the chicken. Us all the same soft and softer that's why I don't go to many Chinese restaurants because of the meat quality is lower then other places you can't blame them. For wanting to make money but I see it in Carribean restaurants too for the most part that's why I'll buy their rice and go get meat l from somewhere else or cook it yourself but once you do cook. It yourself you'll know the difference and what I'm talking about

Food is excellent. However, they only sell medium and large for jerk chicken - no small. Despite this, they still only provide a small amount of jerk chicken in a medium order (one drumstick and thigh) - so you’re basically paying for more rice. Love the food, but can’t help but feel like I’m overpaying in comparison to other west Indian restaurants in the GTA.

Amazing spot to grab food from in the Vaughan area. Reasonably priced with generous portion sizes. The pepper sauce and macaroni salad make it a 5/5 for me.

Had a craving for goat and I was in the area so I decided to try out their curry goat. It was delicious! I live in Milton and I thought I’d have a few bites while it was fresh before I ate the rest at home… Needless to say, I finished everything in the car before I left the parking lot. Good find and no issues with the service. I’ll be back to try the other offerings.

Go with the boneless jerk chicken and make sure to get that extra ox tail gravy on the rice & chicken. If you like coleslaw with your jerk this is on the best coslaws I've had. You definitely cant go wrong with this meal, lettuce and tomatoes not included lol ps this is a small 👀

I just discovered this place recently. My kids and I love jerk chicken, oxtails, and curry goat. I will come back again to try other dishes. If you like Caribbean food, I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food here is amazing, everything is greatly flavourful & seasoned and you can tell the food is fresh! The staff was very kind and efficient with their work. I suggest the jerk chicken and rice & pea's if you eat here. Overall, amazing experience!

Ordered off of Uber I got the curry goat and my friend got the jerk chicken. The curry goat was delicious and did not have too many bones. One of the best I've had. Portions were also very generous We didn't eat the coleslaw as it seemed a bit too watery.

Tropical Island is one of my favorite spots when I am craving a tasty roti. The rotis are a good size and always so flavorful and delicious. It's super easy to call in your order for pick-up and I love their Sunday special of any two rotis for $13.99. Restaurant is clean and the ladies behind the counter are nice. Highly recommend!

I’ve found my new favourite in Vaughan! We ordered from the catering menu - jerk and bbq chicken as well as ox tail for a birthday party and everyone was impressed! Loved the flavours and the ox tail was fantastic - memories of my mother’s Jamaican home cooking! Highly recommend these guys!

An amazing Caribbean spot where you can eat authentic traditional food! Their BBQ Chicken accompanied with the rice and peas and as a side, the pasta is just an awesome mix. Highly recommend it if you are craving for chicken. They also have this lunch special which makes them very competitive for the quality. Couldn’t recommend something better!!! :)
