I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic establishment "SPARKLY Japanese & Thai" and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the ambiance - the mood lighting, unique sculptures on the wall, and the variety of seating options really set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. But it wasn't just the ambiance that impressed me - the service was impeccable. The servers were attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Speaking of the meal, the food was absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see a great selection of vegetarian options, including some delicious sushi rolls and noodles. The Inari Sushi, rice, and noodles were all standout dishes, and I was particularly impressed with how perfectly spiced the noodles were. However, I must note that while I enjoyed the vegetarian options immensely, if you are a non-vegetarian and love seafood, this place is truly heaven for you. They have a plethora of options to choose from that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings. But regardless of your dietary preferences, the overall dining experience at this restaurant is truly exceptional. One thing I appreciated about this restaurant was the portion sizes - they were decent per serving, and you could order as many times as you wished. This allowed us to sample a wide variety of dishes and truly savor the flavors of the menu. And of course, no meal is complete without a drink and dessert. The restaurant offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and we were delighted to try some of their refreshing options. The mango ice cream we ordered for dessert was the perfect way to cap off the meal. In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The ambiance, service, and food are all top-notch, and you won't be disappointed. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from.

Accompanied a friend who likes Japanese food. She enjoyed a lot and found every single thing very delicious. Lots of option in all you can eat for $40. The server Danny is so nice and warm. I enjoyed his style of taking orders; it's very unique. My friend who is a visitor to Canada, loved everything about this restaurant. She was so happy with the entire experience, so I couldn't resist writing this review. The restaurant is huge and very chic. The chandeliers, the decor, the Buddhas, all look great.

Ambiance: Great, mood lighting, dark interior/furniture. Unique sculptors on the wall. Fairly large establishment with different types of seating (booths, high table tops, bar, more intimate seating etc). The washrooms were really clean. The music was a little interesting, hard rock (it didn't really go with the ambiance) but I did not mind. Service: impeccable, the servers were very attentive. The food was brought out quickly. Food: everything was fresh and delicious. I was pleased with the sushi selection. I was very fond of the Thai food options, the shrimp Thai curry was absolutely my favorite. You can order as many times as you wish as the portion size was decent per serving. End the night with fried banana + ice cream.

They key points of this restaurant are definitely (1) ambiance, (2) fish quality, and (3) speed. The atmosphere is dark and moody, which is pleasant and unique to any other place I've visited. Everything that has come out of the kitchen is of great quality. We were able to taste the freshness of the fish that was also served very cold, and to our liking. On top of the quality of the food, the time taken to leave the kitchen was exceptionally quick, only taking moments to be served after having our order taken. Despite these good qualities, there were some minor issues to our experience. Unlike other AYCE sushi spots, we weren't given an iPad to order. Instead we had a server carrying a pen and paper marking down our order. Although this normally wouldn't be an issue, for the amount we ordered this was (understandably) a challenge for our server to record, thus there were a few errors within our order. Their selection on the menu is also quite small, missing a few staple dishes to the cuisine. I will definitely consider returning, but this will not become my go-to spot for sushi. Probably best as a place to take a guest out for the mood and experience.

Great place for a large group. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The price and the portions were pretty decent. We did the a-la-catre option but they also have a buffet. If you like to try different things I would suggest doing the buffet it's not much than ordering a starter and an entree.

I've ordered takeout from here and have always liked the quality of the products so I decided to try the AYCE lunch. It's not listed but the AYCE lunch is about $30/person. There's a fair selection of sushi, sashimi, grilled items, rice dishes and noodles available. What I appreciated was the fact the rolls come in sets of 4 or 5, making it easier for a small group to sample more items without the pressure of having 8 rolls. The restaurant does not have any iPad options, rather the servers take your orders and process them. The service was very quick considering how much we had ordered and the servers were very attentive with refilling our water and checking to see if we wanted to order more. The overall quality isn't groundbreaking but this is a good restaurant to stop by for an affordable AYCE lunch. The restaurant itself is very spacious and has a relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely come back to try out their dinner menu.

This place was pretty good. The food was delicious. We came on a busy night, and service was a bit slow, but that was expected. However, we were sitting with the empty plates for over 30 minutes.

Been here twice and it’s one of my favourite restaurants. Waiters and staff are friendly and awesome, meals were really great and it didn’t take a lot of time to prepare them, drinks were really great, deserts were perfect. The environment is really great. Very neat and serene. I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back. God a birthday cake. Very tasty cheese cake. Thank you

Upscale, modern vibe... Music that is lively yet soothing but not so loud that you have to shout across the table. Buffet food is in manageable portions (smaller) so you can sample more. Service is amazing, prompt, and attentive. All the tables were full, yet my water, wine and food was always topped up. Give it a try!

unforgettable evening and time spent with friends:))) everything was great except the toilets. I don't understand how a restaurant like this can have such a disgusting toilet. I hope they make the toilet clean!!! the waiters were very nice and the food was served very quickly. We had a very good rest and thank you very much…

We went for lunch AYCE and everything was amazing! Variety, service, portions. Food was fresh, quick, and in great portion. The portions are quite generous and they give sushi in smaller quantities (which I find is a good thing at AYCE so you can pace yourself). A lot of menu items, different from your typical Japanese AYCE since they have Thai options. Even their ice cream was a larger potion than usual! The restaurant itself is very clean and has great ambiance. We sat at the patio, which brings me to the service we had. The service was as good as the food; one of the servers saw we were struggling to cut so he brought us a knife. They were considerate about the weather since it started to get a bit windy and they were taking down the patio umbrellas, also considering if the sun was still in our faces. Experience at this restaurant makes me not want to go back to another AYCE with tablets. :)

This place was much much nicer than we thought! Went there after a sports event and were delighted by the ambience and relaxing vibe they had. Ordered a variety of dishes. All were delicious and tasted very “clean” (not too saucy or greasy). The service was super fast and the staff all very helpful. Highly recommend!

Celebrated my friend's birthday at Sparkly, and we had a great time here! Lovely interior design with ambience lighting. Service was efficient, and we enjoyed the wide selection of fresh Japanese and Thai AYCE. Highly recommend this place!

The place is not half bad, and a good value for the portion size (did not get AYCE). The quality isn’t amazing but definitely not bad. Posting pictures of some things we got; “maki dinner”, miso soup, street pad Thai, and salmon pizza (which I highly recommend!) The ambiance is nice, they had live violinist playing during dinner (Friday night) and the decor decent. It has a ways to go to become a fancy place but not any worse than the moxies across the street. If you’re around give this place a try

The quality of the food was good and the waitress kept coming back to take our orders. However, what we ordered initially was only given to us in dribs and drabs, and we had to keep asking about our initial order many times. One item was missed altogether and despite repeating that order many times, we had to wait till the end to get it. I liked the Thai, Japanese combo very much and they also had short ribs and a few meat items for the non sushi eating people.

07/18/2020 - Overpriced ($34.99 - Dinner AYCE) for the quality. What I didn't like: fried wonton had very little meat inside, fish with seaweed (hand rolls, sushi rolls) because the seaweed tasted stale old, shrimp tempura because the shrimp was too soft, and nigiri sushi the rice was mushy. The rest were okay, but nothing that I tried on the menu was amazing. They also don't have a dedicated menu for desserts. All they have is vanilla/chocolate/twist soft serve and fried sesame balls with red bean inside. A little dim inside, if you like that, and they also have a patio open (summer time). Good server lady, but the host who showed us to our table had an attitude or was having a bad day. Upon entering, we had asked for a table for three because we were walk-in and didn't have a reservation, yet the host still asked for my name to check the reservations list. It's as if he didn't trust us that we didn't make a reservation. Mind you, the place was not packed so there was no concern for availability. Overall, I would pass on this. Only go here if this is the closest AYCE sushi near you and you want to fill yourself with below average sushi, you want a last minute patio lunch/dinner with a group, or really want/like something from their menu.

By far, such an amazing experience. We did the dinner buffet and the staff was so kind, food was great and they were coming out in perfect times. We barely waited to get our food and it is really filling. The taste is amazing and it you can try a bit of everything as the portions are not big, if you really enjoyed it you can order it again, The atmosphere is amazing, defiantly a place to return to. The best part was the fact that they had ice cream, the ice cream was delicious and not expected at all

I love this restaurants all you can eat menu and the little options they give you. It reminds me of sort of like a tasting menu and everything is pretty decent. The waiter was also amazing. He was encouraging us to try several things on the menu and he even encouraged me to get dessert, which I truly enjoyed. The drinks here are also strong. Overall, great service, great atmosphere, and decent food for a laid back girls night out.

This place took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting the food to be very good given how nice the atmosphere is and I'm use to mama poppa style Asian cuisine. Well this place was delightful. I love that they doing do tablet orders and the servers were extremely tentative. The sashimi and handrolls were very fresh and the teriyaki was on point. Tried the spicy noodle and it was well seasoned. Their drink menu was also refreshing. Their saki cocktail along with blackberry margarita were very fresh and we also tried the bikini martini which was refreshing. The prices are very friendly given the location and quilty. Easy choice for a great price!

Overall Sparkly Japanese and Thai Restaurant delighted me and my four guests. We were seated promptly. Restaurant design was very inviting and elevated. Bar Server came within minutes to get our drink orders. A few minutes after that our Food Server came and started taking our order. Drinks came followed by our first plates 10 minutes or so thereafter. We did not feel rushed at all. The Food Server continuously came to take our orders and asked if we were happy with our dishes. Each dish came out styled perfectly. Some of the dishes could have been more flavourful. We just added some chili oil and or soya sauce and it did the trick. Some menu items were not available (sold out).We stayed the full two hours and enjoyed our evening.

I've ordered platters (catering) and they are great for parties. I am not a fan of massive pieces that fall apart and Sparkly makes the perfect individual sizes that are easy to eat in one bite. Highly recommend for parties. Will definitely order again and look forward to dinning in.

Visited this restaurant twice for birthday celebrations and the food was amazing both times. I had the all you can eat dinner (AYCE) which was about $45 per person on a weekend. Sushi rolls were amazing, the rice was tasty and all the shrimps were really good. Looking back at all the pictures I took and I’m literally drooling. Highly recommend, 10/10 restaurant. Also would like to add that the bathroom was aesthetically pleasing and clean.

Food was great quality. Service was excellent. Well worth the price of $35. Highlights for me: curry pumpkin soup, coconut shrimp, short ribs (actually charred perfectly from the grill). Will visit again. Note try to make a reservation as they can get busy.

Good as always! Solid menu and quality. Recent change in name, but the food and service stayed the same. Great place for AYCE sushi and Thai. Simply fantastic!

Beautiful place to dine in, tasty meals. However we were told that we must finish whatever we order. If you are visiting with a large family please order what you can finish , or if are visiting with a small family just order as you can eat. I enjoyed the the coconut shrimps and pineapple fried rice so much. Thank you 👍

Amazing food, quick service and fair prices, ever since they’ve changed the ownership this restaurant have improved for the better, the downside: the desserts are precarious for the quality provided at the food

Been here for lunch a few times now. Service was great on our last visit. A few items that aren’t usually on a lunch AYCE including escargots. Also sashimi is also included with the lunch price.
