Great place to learn more about Bulgarian history and culture. You can see examples of the early Bulgarian signs written in Bulgarian from 9-10 century AD. I would recommend that visit the museum first then the ruins of then town. And do get a guide. Worth the visit!

This place has loads of potential, unfortunately not managed well obviously. There should be interactive screens and multimedia, audio guides in different languages and make the place more welcoming.

The gold collection is amazing. The museum is well maintained with some rare and very interesting items.

Lovely cosy museum! Don’t miss to see the gold treasure

A lot of things can be seen there. Tools from everyday life, the treasure vault and perfectly made models of the fortress and the golden church.

Great place to visit. The gold vaults were amazing and all the archeological finds, coins, pots and bits and bobs. Definitely recommend after seeing the ruins of the palace.
