We went in for a snack, and we had an idea it would cost more than other places, but didn’t expect to be legally robbed. C’mon… €9.00 for a 300ml bottle of still water??? What you see in my picture cost us €47.50… These people should be handcuffed. The food was good, but not superb. The service was friendly, but nothing exceptional. All the people here talking about ambiance… what ambiance??? This place is nothing like the famous cafes in Vienna or Paris, yet charge more by far than any cafe we’ve been in Europe. And then they want to charge you extra for the band??? Hang on to your money and go somewhere else. This Place is a tourist trap!!

Obviously be prepared for the most expensive cup of coffee you’ll ever have (€7 for an espresso), but it is a real treat. Yes, they charge you €6 to listen to the music, but the live band is really great and the interior of this iconic cafe is very impressive. Great place for a few photos, especially if you’ve not visited Europe before

What a beautiful experience! I had watched a documentary on Venice in which Caffè Florian was featured and it certainly lived up to it’s expectations. The prices are high but 100% worth it for the atmosphere… the service and the orchestra were just amazing. Highly recommend for a once in a life time treat. Everything was just perfect!

Definitely a tourist trap. I’d recommend walking by to take photos of the super cool rooms, but eating elsewhere as it’s insanely expensive and not very good. For example, a small bottle of water was 9 euros and my coffee was 16. Spent over 60 euros for two small desserts of which the chocolate cake was very dry, a water and a coffee.

A wonderful cup of over priced coffee, but the experience was what I paid for it was topped off with a small cookie. A wonderful orchestra played while we had a caffe latte and quiche. The experience was exactly what one should experience in a place like Venice. Unforgettable! The service was exceptional very attentive.

Stunning cafe right in San Marco’s square. The food/coffee was rather on the expensive side but you get to soak in this beautiful place. The turnover & service were pretty fast so most of the time you don’t have to queue for long. We had toast Saporito and cappuccino ☕️ they were decent👍🏻 By the way, we think it’s cool that you can even order a song (€6 each!), even though we didn’t do that. it was definitely a special experience.

Extremely elegant inside. 300 years old. Waiters are exceptional. However very expensive. I know I know, it’s the oldest continuously running coffeehouse but still! It was a normal hot chocolate and cappuccino. Still a lovely experience but I expected a bit more. We also were a bit rushed out by being handed our check when we didn’t ask for it, which I don’t think I’ve ever had happen to me in Italy. All that being said, you go at least once ! It was nice to feel fancy for a bit. Now I’m ok to skip on my next return to Venice.

The place is incredible and it is a cafe with more than 250 years old in the middle of Piazza San Marcos. This makes it extremely expensive, a coffee with macarons costs 25 euros. So and everything is worth a lot, the thought to spend a moment there, and enjoy the incredible views of the square. There are usually music shows, in my case I saw a group of classical music playing songs from all over the world (even tangos) which was really worth it. The attention is super cordial and very efficient

AMAZING!! FOOD/DRINK : Good! PLACE : AUTHENTIC!! SERVICE : Good! TOILET : Clean. PRICE : Unfair. This place has an “Amazing Story” when you come inside. More than just Authentic, it tells a lot when you see the ceilings, walls, floor, tables etc. The Staff who served us was good and its just going normal here. While we enjoy the beauty food and drink, a small band accompanied us (it was really Nice). The toilet is located on the second floor, its fit but clean. I like the atmosphere while being here, especially being outside. But my opinion, the price was unfair (please consider, being here is for the atmosphere). Gratzie.

Very elegant cafe with friendly waiter and a great atmosphere, but is very pricey. Most of the price pairs goes to the service and not the actual products you get, as the ice cream and coffee were both very average. Still a nice experience but we expected a bit more. All that being said, it was nice to feel fancy for a bit. Just to take in mind, each adult pays 6 euro for the music.

Worth the Hype? A Review of Florian in Venice Venice's Florian boasts a legendary status, with lines often snaking out the door. While its reputation sparked initial skepticism, we decided to experience it firsthand, knowing we might not be back in Venice soon. Surprisingly, the wait was brief, and we were ushered into a charming, albeit small, space oozing with historical grandeur. The cappuccino lived up to the hype, and the tiramisu was truly exceptional. However, the cold ice cream stole the show – a refreshing and delightful treat. While we were tempted to return, the price tag gave us pause. The cost of a single drink here could get you several coffees elsewhere. Overall, we recommend giving Florian a try, but be sure to check the prices before you commit. After all, you're in Venice, so soak up the experience and have fun!

It was my dream to visit Venice one day & to enjoy a good coffee on the San Marco Square. My dream came true. The part with the coffee was not that great. We have enjoyed the moment incl. live music. The band was great and played multiple tracks from Eric Clapton. We paid 31.50 Euro for 2 espresso macchiato & a small bottle of water. Anyway, make your dreams come true.

Really old fashioned cafe with live classical music and friendly service. It’s the world’s oldest cafe so well worth a visit. Would recommend going early morning and sitting at the bar as the regular tables to have a big service charge. We paid 15eu for an Italian hot chocolate, espresso and a jam croissant to share. Macaroons were 5eu a piece. It did taste great and sitting at the bar you don’t get the service charge. It’s once of those things you experience once and would recommend

We had a little lunch here and it was nice. The ham and cheese and the club sandwiches were great. The best one was the prawn sandwich. The ice coffee was great but it was tiny when compared to the picture so don't get fooled. But the regular espresso was great The croissants were good too. The service was superb the waiters were super friendly and helpful. The location is great it is located on the San Marcos square so it can be really busy. You have to be prepared to wet your feet cause the water can rise anytime and the San Marco square is the lowest point in Venice. And finally the atmosphere was great eating or drinking in a cafe that's 300 years old is definitely something different.

If you’re looking for good food or coffee this is definitely not the place. To be blunt the food just aren’t good and are massively overpriced (NYC prices). However, the vibes and decor were amazing! It was so nice to look at the beautiful rooms, but I still chose to sit outside in order to enjoy the live ensemble. The services were great too. Overall I would say this cafe really is worth a visit for the art and beauty it presents!

I understand that this is a place for tourists mostly but it's still worth visiting. The interior looks nice, also they have delicious desserts. Just be ready that it might be kind of pricey, so check all the prices before going there. They don't have a booking option but if there is a line, it usually doesn't take that much time waiting. Btw I got a Tiramisu cake which was amazing 😍

Beautiful decor bring you back to 18AC. My kids enjoyed the desserts and icecreams. Service high quality coffees, bit expensive and worth the money to spend a moment there. At end, my son looked for chocolate to eat, and the waiter was very kind and bring my boy some chocolate chips to make him happy. I think this coffee shop is a must visit place when you in Venice.

No words to describe the experience while seated in this cafe. 🧡 The view of San Marco, the dressed-up waiters, the piano playing live; everything is amazing! Yes, indeed it is pricey but if there’s one place to pay that kind of money it sure is this. 🇮🇹

The best cafe I ever visited. Food was amazing and delicious. Even small details. Service was excellent. You need to come here for an experience. Interior is breathtaking. We came at 9 a.m. and cafe was empty inside. We had chance to make so much beautiful instagram pictures and videos for blog. Food is expensive but absolutely worth every penny! We took coffee, croissant and some pastry and paid 50€. I read that they include 6€ per person for live music and it was also mentioned in menu so it was not surprise for us. But at the end they didn’t include this music part in our bill. Maybe because of the morning time. Overall we felt ourselves very welcome and staff was so friendly and nice.

Amazing to see the oldest coffeehouse that still exists. 301 years of history ☕️ Not my Typ of coffee but the history is what counts! The hospitality is great, they great every customer who comes in and they say bye too whom leaves the coffeehouse. The atmosphere will take you back to the 18’s century. Thank you for keeping it the way it was in the first years. Every coffee professional and coffee lover should absolutely go there and visit the coffeehouse!

Very classy, vintage atmosphere. It’s a very old, long standing tea room and they have kept the luxurious feel to it. Be prepared for the most pricey coffee (espresso 7 Euro), tea (12.50 Euro) or fruit tart (16.50 Euro) but that is understandable given it’a tourist hotspot. The turnover of customers is impressive, there is pretty much always a queue and the moment a table is emptied, it is filled in seconds!

What can i say… great to be here, tasty coffee and amazing spot. Live music - exceptional. Two coffees we paid 28€ + what we did not know that we have to pay 12€ for the music band and service😙

Classic, elegant, refined and decedent. One of the great Caffès of Europe. Cappuccino and breakfast in the morning... and elegant drinks and snacks before dinner... Wonderful place to sit, relax and enjoy the sunshine on your face as you observe the piazza and people passing by. No visit to Venezia is complete without an hour or two enjoying the drinks/food/view at Caffè Florian.

A part of history. The white coat service is impeccable. The attention to detail like arranging each persons order on the silver tray in the exact spot they sit as they swing down and place the tray in front of you. The prices are the only things that are a challenge, but taking in the location and local taxes it’s understandable.

Unique and amazing. The price tag is high but the view, service, quality of drinks/food make it completely worth it. They also sometimes have a piano/violin concert, which was also high quality (5€ per person). Go in this coffee like you go to a special restaurant for a celebration.

A perfect place to sit an enjoy Saint Marc’s square and enjoy a delicious croissant. The cafe’s paintings are incredible. The prices are a bit higher than you’ll see at other cafes, but the atmosphere alone is worth it.

The world’s oldest coffee shop. It was worth coming for the novelty, but the prices are fairly high; it’s the location tax I suppose. Food and drink was alright, but the live music really helps set the atmosphere (though they charge an additional 5 euro cover per person for it).

Great location with a history of 300 years. Very elegantly designed, but also VERY costly. €16 for a cup of Caffè del Doge, which is essentially coffee with chocolate and milk cream and hazelnut. Tasted alright, but overall this place is worth a visit if you’re in Venice!

I am a coffee addict so I was super excited to visit the oldest coffee shop in the world. However, the coffee was bad. It's too bitter in my standard. I still give this place 4 stars because of the history and also because there was a piano player outside the cafe.

An iconic caffè in Venice dated back to 1720. Live music from their own orchestra every evening and the best view on Piazza San Marco. You are back in time to enjoy a wonderful evening. Please be aware that there is a overcharge fee of 6€/person for the live music, but it is worth.

Say that it’s expensive it’s no say nothing. Ice cream was good but was more whipped cream than ice cream. Be honest you pay for location and beautiful decor.

It is an experience to sit at a caffè in Piazza di San Marco and marvel at the beautiful square and the many passers-by. At Florian, a place with quite a bit of history, here’s my opinion: Great musicians. Good food. Okay service. Our server was more transactional than friendly. For the cost of dining at Florian, you’d think they would at least offer decent service.

Lovely evening having cocktails here. The service was great, the band exceptional and the atmosphere fantastic. Enjoyed it so much i proposed to my (now) fiancé. It isn’t cheap but it’s worth it for the experience.
