Have been going to this restaurant for a long time. It's been recently redecorated. A very big restaurant on the sea front. If in season, you'll need to arrive early if you're wanting a sea view. Gets very busy and noisy. We only had soup, pizza and hamburgers. The vegetable soup was very good. The thin crust pizza was good. The "hamburger especial" that I had was excellent. Served with a small basket of chips (not homemade but good) it cost 6€ and tasted great. So good value for money. 3 hamburgers, one soup, one pizza, 4 desserts, 2 beers, a fruit juice and a bottle of water was 58€ We arrived at around 9 in the evening (Monday, end of July), so the place was packed. Service was slow, but that was to be expected. The waiter was great and we were served with a smile. Have had their salted cod in the past, which was excellent.

Food was terrible, service was worse. Still waiting for the ketchup. Bad food, bad service, bad music. The trifecta of unhappiness. Weather was very nice though.

Table service was superb, the waiter really enhanced the whole experience. Some dishes were good, others could be improved. It was nearly fully occupied so food wait time was understandably longer.

Arrived before 7. Waited for 15 mins, no one brought us a menu. I hunted down a waiter who told me that he didn't give us a menu because there was no kitchen staff, (even though others were eating) so I asked, so, no food, he replied, more or less. 5 mins later came back with a menu. Found the prices to be fairly high, especially for the quality. Veal steak was tough. Chicken cutlets so thin and dry. Portions smaller then what is common in these parts. No one check on us during the meal, or at all during our stay minus taking and delivering our orders. Also didn't seem like any waiters spoke English which I found uncommon considering the amount of people working there. Also food took about an hour after we ordered it.... Wasn't the worst, but don't plan to go back.

We would stay far away from this place to be honest, there are much much better places in Viana.

Excellent food ,and service. I recommend the bacalhao a scala - codfish with a seafood sauce. Large portions. Beautiful atmosphere with clean bathrooms. Came for lunch at 12:00 and was seated right away and was able to pick a table with ocean view.

Good food, lovely staff, good value and a brilliant location overlooking the ocean. What more can I say!

Very classy restaurant by the sea

They messed up 1 order. The meat was raw and not especially tasty. Otherwise excellent. Generally delicious food and friendly staff.

Very good food and service. The seafood rice is awesome with a lot of seafood, but the best part for me is the deserts that are epic.... Very recommended

Scala Caffe is a great coffee shop / restaurante with a terrific location - literally, by the sea! You can park your car just a few steps away (there's a parking lot across the the street) and watch the sea as you take your coffee or have your lunch. The food and service are very good and it's not expensive, at all. A great spot in Viana.

Great crepes! Very nice restaurant with an amazing view of the ocean. Great food, great service and very reasonable prices. You should definitely try the Oasis crepes.

Very disappointing see a business discriminate against people regarding medical choices, there’s no rule or mandate guides from any business or government that over rules the human rights, Nuremberg code and basic medical information. Business like this require vacine certificates are the ones that will go first. Have no sympathy for none of them. Shame on this people.
