We stopped for the night here on our Coastal Camino walk. On a hill overlooking the valley and the Atlantic, the owners of this inn and vineyard can trace their family lineage in this valley back to AD 1005. Vinho verde wine is their product; cool, light and refreshing! The inn accommodations are like home to us... kitchen with all utensils, stocked fireplace (bring a lighter), and a comfy sofa. Dining tables for two both inside and outside. No AC due to the difficulty of retrofitting these old, thick stone wall buildings, but you are high on the hill and get a wonderful onshore breeze. This would be a great home base for a week-long tour of Northwest Portugal.

What an incredible place! The installations and surroundings are absolutely stunning. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that there was a well equipped kitchenette so you can have dinner out or cook something there and eat it in the garden outside. It is woth spending at least a week, and we will be definitely coming back. The things to bear in mind are mosquitoes, which are especially active at night. And the breakfast could be just a bit richer. The ladies who served it, though, couldn't!

Die Anlage ist äußerst gepflegt und weitläufig inmitten der Weinstöcke.Die Wohnungen oberhalb des Haupthauses sind sehr schön gestaltet, sodass man ein Stück Geschichte erlebt. Sie verfügen über einen großen Balkon. Unsere Wohnung hatte 2 Schlafzimmer und zwei Bäder. Allerdings gibt es keine Doppelbetten. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der wunderschöne Pool. Absolut herrlich. Gut ist auch die Lage: Mit dem Auto ist man in 10 Minuten am Badestrand oder in Viana do Castelo. Toll war ebenfalls der Frühstücksservice. Immer frische Brötchen und Brot sowie Kaffee, Milch, Frischkäse, Butter, Marmelade und Honig. Und wer mal etwas Abwechslung braucht, kann diese im fußläufig entfernten Supermarkt finden.

Paço d’Anha is a true Jewel! The property is amazing, with wonderful views over the valley, plus the wineyards and gardens are great. The rooms take you back in time to hundreds of years ago - although everything is perfectly maintained . I fully recommend it to those walking the coastal “caminho” to Santiago and anyone who wants to experience Portugal in its essence
