Good practical, well equipped modern rooms. While not exactly walking distance to the old town/ opera house area - it’s only a few metro / tram stops away. The hotel it’s right by the main train station itself.

A fairly good economy hotel, very near to the train station and not far from the city centre. The area itself is modern. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Free and fast WiFi. Food is OK but I recommend eating in the nearby restaurants. Overall good value for money.

Very convenient Hotel close to the Main Train/Metro Station in Vienna. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds are comfortable and breakfast is very good and has a good selection. We were even provided with packed breakfast due to our early check out on our last day. Staff were very nice. Will definitely be back.

Clean hotel and awesome breakfast but the rooms are really small. The kids play area is nice. Great location close to public transport. The bathroom doors are badly designed.. Too heavy and made out of glass not very practical and take lot of space in already small room. Nice gym area with great views.

Everything was perfect and the breakfast buffet was out of this world. There is also a play area near the breakfast buffet so kids can play there. Near the main train station so transport is also easily available. The staff is good. But the staff at the bar was ridiculous. I ordered hot chocolate. They prepared it 3 times. At first it was totally cold. The 2nd time the glass was cracked and the third time there was no flavour of chocolate at all but I was tired so I drank it. But I didn't order anything again from the bar till our stay at the place.

Very good location, convenient starting point for sight seeing in Vienna. Clean, modern rooms. Good restaurant, nice lobby. Convenient although costly car park. Definitely worth recommending for a city break, business trip or even a longer stay.

The hotel was in a very nice area and was easy to get to. Our room was very spacious and clean with a nice desk table as well. I liked how they came to make our bed but didn't touch anything in the room, I appreciated that a lot. They also have a sauna and a gym room, I didn't try either though. They also have a really nice breakfast for their guests, which I really enjoyed. It was a really good breakfast. Very nice hotel.

Simple, clean and modern rooms. Great showers! Soft towels. My personal opinion - I would of preferred a dividing door between toilet and shower room as we were 4 people and it was a bit tricky in the morning. Room were really quiet, couldn't hear the trains at all. Our room was next to the lift and couldn't hear it. Was really nicely surprised. Great tasty breakfast, there is a big varaity for everyone. Like the easy access to the public transport. Even in the night we felt really safe walking around. Amazing views from the gym!!! Staff really kind smily and helpful!!!

Excelent location, close to underground and train station. Rooms were in good shape and clean. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the elevators were crowded. Parking place is on the basement, but you need to pay separately. You need to use the parking card at the reception to receive a discount on the parking price. Price with discount is 25 euro per day.

Hotel was very nice, very clean. Location was excellent, staff are angels. They are always smiling, answering all my question with patience. Hotel is located beside central train & metro & bus station. You can go to everywhere you want. Perfect.

We, as a family, stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The room service was good too. Both the days, we returned to find a well-kept, organized room with towels changed, bedsheets done, etc. The breakfast had a good spread and was fresh and tasty. The staff was nice and friendly too. They helped us with our luggage on the last day after the checkout. We saved money on lockers in the main station. The proximity of this hotel to the main station made transit and travel easier. All in all, a pleasant stay.

Nice room. Perfect location. Comfy beds, but the ac system was in winter setting, so no ac cooling. Lots of glass so it was very warm in the room with sunny weather. Reception advices to open up the window, but this hotel is located next to the very loud central station. We did not sleep. Would not recommend! Price way to high for hotel without AC in winter!!

I’m happy with the location as it’s not very central yet there are lots of amenities nearby as it’s near the central station. Room itself was quite big as well. Gym was interesting.

Had a great stay here in Dec for the Xmas markets. Conveniently located across the road from the central railway station, so quick access to/from the airport. Not too far from everything. Staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. There's not much else to say, but I would recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at this Novotel. We found the mattress to be very firm and the room stiflingly hot. Even with the air-conditioning set to the coldest possible temperature, it was still blowing warm air. The hotel reception told us it was centrally controlled and the temperature could not be changed. We had to crack open the window for some cooler air, which unfortunately meant we could hear the trains running all night, so we had a very uncomfortable stay with little sleep. On top of this, housekeepers opened the door and entered the room several times in the morning for some reason. Perhaps they got us confused with other guests who checked out early? The only staff who was friendly was the man who brought out our luggage from storage. Both ladies on reception seemed annoyed and impatient with all the guests. Also be aware the TV is only local channels, no streaming. The bath towels were thin and scratchy and they use very cheap 1ply toilet paper. The only positive was the strong WiFi and convenient location close to the train station. Overall for the price we expected a lot better service and amenities. We have generally had a good experience with the Novotel brand, but we would not stay here again.

The only small criticism was the room was a little too warm and it was difficult to reduce the temperature, but in all other respects it was perfect. The location was perfect too, right next to the Vienna Hauptbahnhof (central railway station). This made airport transfers easy (regular train and bus services). Also, the historic city centre is 5 minutes away on the U-Bahn (underground) which has a station next to the hotel. For general convenience, it's perfect as the train station is also a shopping centre with a decent grocery store (Spar) which is great if you have children and need to buy basic commodities. Finally, it's also perfect if you're planning to travel further afield during your stay. We took a day trip to Prague by train. It was a long day (especially with our young daughter) but the early start and late return was made all the easier given the hotel was right next to the station. If we return to Vienna (which is a distinct possibility) we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Female solo traveler Oct 2023, the hotel, the service, the staff, all excellent. I did get a bump up to a larger room at no extra cost, I was impressed. My bus tour was just around the corner and the train station had everything you might need. Their restaurant served excellent food.

I had no major complaints with this hotel. The location is amazing maybe fifty meters away from Vienna's central railway station. My room offered a complimentary mini bar. The Wifi worked great, and the bathroom was nice and spacious. The view of the train station from above was actually very interesting. The queue for check-in at 6pm was a bit long, but still manageable. I do have to note that I wasn't recognized as an Accor Gold member and wasn't upgraded as far as I know, but for a one night stay it wasn't too important for me. As far as value for money goes I think it is just a bit overpriced, I paid around EUR 180 for a very spontaneous booking a day or two prior. The Ibis next door is also a very nice and convenient hotel and it is at least EUR 50 cheaper - for a quick one night stay I think the Ibis might just be better value for money.

Next to the train station. Good price. Very clean. Good staff. Probably would pick something closer to the city center for pure tourism

A very nice new build hotel next to the main railway station in Vienna, the capital city of Austria. All carpets in the room h hallways. The minibar was on the house and therefore for free from the hotel. We appreciate that very much. We can recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location of the hotel, which was incredibly convenient. the staff were pleasant and accommodating throughout my stay. Their friendly demeanor made my experience more enjoyable. However, I regret to inform you that I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. In particular, the state of cleanliness left much to be desired. Furthermore, I encountered a language barrier when trying to communicate with the cleaning staff. Unfortunately, they were unable to understand English, which made it challenging to address any concerns I had during my stay. One specific incident that stood out was the lack of attention given to cleaning the cups in the room. Even after notifying the staff about my emptied coffee cups, they were not cleaned or replaced.

What a lovely hotel! We stayed for 2 nights . Staff is extremely friendly. Room was clean and spacious than I expected. Right next to the Wien main train station. Also, the tram stop is located really nearby, so easy to move to the city center. Loved the overall ambience and service!

We stayed for 2 nights. Friendly staff. Check-in was fast. Room was clean and spacious than I expected. Right next to the Wien main train station. Also, the tram stop is located really nearby, so easy to move to the city center (about 8-10 min.). Breakfast was good with fresh fruits. We liked staying here for the short trip this time.

Location was a 3 stars but that’s all. You have to change 2 public transports to go to Stephansplatz or walk 700 meter until U1 in the freezing cold If you are staying with more than one persons the room is very small (unless you pay for a suite) We travelled with our 2 children and we couldn’t even keep our suitcases open. There are better options for families in Wien. In my opinion it’s just a business hotel. Lastly (for someone who travels often) the breakfast is nothing special..

This is a hotel by standard. Beautiful interior design, great staff and fantastic rooms. This is a place to go to. Directly at the railway station, the nest breakfast buffet ever, cheese in many variations. Just to love. Great job Novotel Vienna.

Incredible bar service, Toni is the best barkeeper I have ever met. He was always ready to serve me everything I wanted! If you want a great bar service experience, you must go visit this hotel! P.s. put only 4 stars because Toni does not work there every day. :(

Such a nice hotel and lovely staff. Breakfast time was a favorite for my kids especially as they had a huge play area with lots of toys and other friendly kids! Our hotel Room was also nice… though I wish they’d given us a room with a nice view. But at least it was clean and cleaning service was everyday. Not stressful like staying in an airbnb.

The location is amazing. The bus, metro and train station is right next to the hotel. You can find anything you want inside the station. The belvedere museum is 7 minutes away on foot. The room was good and clean. I highly recommend it

Loved the place as it is really close to the central train station, walking distance not even 5 minutes. Great thing about the hotel is that they have some nice playing area for the kids, so you can enjoy your meal or drink whilst kids play. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were also good.

The staff was very helpful. There was a problem with my online booking and they handled it very well. Let me feel I they really cared and solved the issue to my complete satisfaction. The hotel is near a train and metro station, very convenient to travel to and from the airport and the city center. The rooms and the food are also very nice. We enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel with air conditioning. Excellent breakfast, teapot in the room. It's convenient if you travel by train, but it's around 25 min walk to get to old town attractions. Belvedere is nearby. One negative, my room didn't have a desk, so I had to use a small coffee table for work. The small couch was convenient to sit on. Multiple food options and supermarkets nearby.

Very nice hotel with good connection to public transportation. Clean rooms, good service, gym and spa on 19th floor. The breakfast is so good and generous . The Verve restaurant is for a quick dinner and the options, even though not so many, are quite good. We had a wonderful vacation at this hotel. I totally recommend it.

Great location and friendly staff. We were taking the train across Europe and this hotel is literally across the station. The rooms are quite nice and comfortable. The hotel has lots of space to chill or kids can horse around in the play area.

Pros: Good location. Good children's playing area. Good breakfast. Cons: Room may be slightly warm. Air con control doesn't seem to change the temperature much. Be careful of coat hangers. If your clothes is wet, paint may stain your clothes.

Good hotel. While I was here for bossiness I really liked its location, close to train station for travelers. Rooms were comfortable. Nothing to complain about.

Housekeeping asked me to leave the room earlier than checkout time at 12pm. A man was trying to speak to me in German and gesturing he needed to turn the room over at 10:30am. Stayed for a conference in July 2022. Location is great, rooms are clean and spacious. Easily accessible from the train. However would want to rate this 5 stars apart from the fact that it felt I was being chased out of the room at the end.

  • 5/5 Howard L. 1 year ago on Google
The room's are excellent and the rooms are very clean. Great views and very close to the station with a number of eating places. Breakfast was a good choice but a little over priced for the selection available. If I stayed next time I would go out for breakfast as there are so many options in and around the station. The bar is nice and friendly and the staff were polite and courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location ,only 5 minutes walking from Belvedere and 39 minutes to St. Stephen's Cathedral. State of the art in furnishing, very luxurious, spacious and comfortable rooms. The Internet strong and fast. The stuff is polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet is plentiful, diverse and can satisfy everyone's palate. The lunch not so much. Very modern and new hotel, I would gladly stay there again.

The closest to station, clean, well maintained. Good breakfast and kids play area. A very good non expensive restaurant and bar. Close proximity to city attractions, easy access to tram, subway trains and outgoing trains. Totally worth it

In general, hotel is good. I appreciate a lot a quality of food in the restaurant. What is very bad for such high price hotel: 1. Absence of the desk in the room - this is a nonsense for the business class hotel with such a price - you should equip rooms with table, where is possible to work on laptop 2. Absence of slippers - Novotel chain has shown its greed one more time 3. Very slow and very unprofessional reception work: there was a large event and it was known in advance. Despite it hotel was not able to provide 2-3 receptionists work during even more busy time of the day (11-13:00, check out time). Your customers were forced to wait up to 30 (!) min at the reception to complete check-out 4. I left my personal belongings at the bar. Gloves, a scarf, and a woolen cap were neatly folded together and tucked into the sleeve. The next day, everything was returned to me except the scarf, which definitely could not have been lost, since all the other things were folded inside the scarf. As a conclusion, I would never ever chose Novotel for my personal trips anymore. This is a disaster.
