It's one of the go to places on a visit to Vila Real, they sell traditional local pastry as well as other types which all present very specific portuguese taste. I have mixed feelings about this cafe, because it feels like the way they serve you depends on their mood. Love their toast, especially a little portion of jam that goes with it, but sometimes it can be too dry. Not a fan of an eggy taste of their pastries, but I like their originality. One time I bought some tarts for a take out and they served them in a paper bag, little did I know that all the cream would be all over the bag in literally 5min, the desserts were wasted, wasn't very happy with this kind of service to be honest.

Delightful authentic pastelaria! This pastry shop was started almost 100 years old and now a great-grand-daughter runs it. They use the same recipes and hand made methods to create their pastries. Plus, it’s adorable inside and out!
