I found this place on a Google search and it was simply amazing. You wouldn’t expect that this establishment serves this level of high quality food as there’s barely a sign to let you know you’ve made it to the restaurant, but WOW. The pricing is almost too reasonable, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the experience of sitting at the kitchen table while chatting it up with the chefs while they make each dish was one of a kind. We were truly blessed to experience this dinner. We will be recommending Liberty to all of our friends and family!

There is nothing ordinary about Liberty, from the menu to the vibe and the nondescript location. Richee Boye, Sous Chef to the culinary genius of Chef Bob Boye, together, are creating culinary magic! First, let me start by saying we are still talking about every bite, reliving every taste. Richee attended to our every desire with each selection. Every dish presenting itself to be more exceptional than the last. Our visit to Liberty, every last bite, took me back to my days in NYC, hopping from Bouley to LeBernardin and the likes of Il Mulino and Chanterelle!! I was amazed by each one of your dishes, the technique, the presentation, most especially the flavor bursts happening in my mouth. Every bite was truly a gastronomical love fest. Your take on Foie is the most amazing version I've ever had. So delicately balanced with the accoutrements, especially the amazing bread and sweet, aromatic tomatoes! The Steak Tartare offered layers of rich flavor, complimented by the egg pate, just brilliant! Was that magic mustard? We are still talking about those silky, spicy dots of goodness! The Salmon with a citrus kiss of ponzu, were buttery slices of heaven! The duck was juicy, tender and rendered to perfection! Even the root vegetable with the Duck was divine! Your most non-traditional version of Gnocchi was exceptional, the combination of flavors and texture, seriously, perfection! I could go on for days... We shared every item on the menu, except the sword fish, including every dessert! By special request, Richee made us a rich, flavorful Ribeye seared in Duck fat. There are no words for this ... Every single bite was phenomenal from start to finish!! As we walked out we were already planning our next visit. Richee and my nephew Dom go way back, so it was wonderful to see him in action, passionate about his craft and thriving in his element! It certainly translated into every dish! Liberty's concept is so welcomed! Your edgy combinations of flavor, texture and plating, as well as your amazing team make for a culinary experience like no other in SWFL. We will definitely see you soon! #EatLiberty #TheBoyesCanCook

I took my daughter here last night for her 40th birthday. It was so perfect! The food was amazing. We had the Chef's tasting menu which consisted of 5 courses and a dessert. Every course was absolutely delicious. My favorite course was the octopus mac and cheese. I don't usually order octopus because it's too chewy, but this was so tender that it just melted in my mouth. We also indulged in the wine pairings which perfectly complimented every course. Definitely recommend! If you love food and fine dining, this place is not to be missed. The restaurant itself is very small and intimate. Loved being able to watch the chef as he expertly prepared the food. He came over during every course and explained it to us. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go again!

Do you remember your favorite record store -the one you went to because everyone that worked there lived and breathed music and always had great recommendations? Liberty is just like that- but with food. The entire staff loves what they do and it shows. We tried 5 of the small plates and each one was better than the one before it. I really enjoyed the small plate experience. We tried 5 and were not disappointed with any of them. The wait staff does an excellent job of giving you a brief description of the individual dishes and their ingredients- where they are sourced , why they were chosen and the way they play against each other when eaten. After we made our choices our waiter recommended bringing them out in a certain order so they could be enjoyed in the manner that the chef (Bob Boye) originally intended. I highly recommend sitting at the bar, doing so affords you a great view of the kitchen and the extensive and meticulous preparation that goes into each dish. If you're not engrossed in conversation the chef takes the time to tell you about each dish and gives you a little backstory about what inspired him to create it. I love this place and can't wait to go back. Oh, I almost forgot- the dessert was amazing! easily the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. Liberty is more than a restaurant- it's a dining experience and a treat for all 5 of your senses. Give them a try- you won't be disappointed.

This is truly a diamond in the ruff, tucked away, no signage, only to enter and have the most intimate, divine meal of your life. The beer and wine pairings were epic. We ended up with a whole new list of favorite wines. The staff is happy to chat your ear off, allowing us to pick their brains about every aspect of the restaurant, while also respectful of my husband and my time together. The food was served perfectly spaced to allow for lots of conversation with each dish and about each dish. We honestly, almost successfully tried every dish (small plates) offered that night including all three desserts. None of which left us disappointed. Plus we fell in love w the artwork. I only wish it could follow us back to Denver!! Well done Liberty!!!

Visited Liberty for the first time last night, after it was highly recommended by a friend…. I’ve been all over town to dine and this place, from the first plate to the last is the best in town. I was over the top impressed. Great job Liberty and Staff!

Best restaurant in Florida and it’s not even close. The food stands alone, energy, attitude and atmosphere are just extra. Richie and Nick deliver with killer food and even better personalities. Katie and Raiza will put a spell on you from the moment you’re greeted, in the best possible way. So basically, stop what you’re doing and make a reservation immediately!

Honestly, this place is a hidden gem in a nondescript location. Their menu is varied, pulling from several different cuisines. Tried the Cobia crudo, shishito peppers, curried shrimp and spinalis of ribeye. Oh and the off -menu fois gras. Everything was prepared well, and plated nicely, by the very friendly chefs who will occasionally visit tables Our server, Katie, really went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Strongly recommend checking this place out so what 7

first time there and loved it ! 4 stars because I only give 5 starts to a place that simply can;t be beat. This little gem deserves to be explored....it has nice servers and it feels like a more intimate dining experience. Don;t expect the usual but go with an open mind. I liked most of the dishes we ordered. My friend and I ordered a lot lol because we were hungry and curious. I think we had 9 dishes and liked 8 of them. ..a lot :) . well done and I'll be back :)

if you're looking for a regular dinner night out... this is not the place to go. let's start out with the atmosphere. The place is cozy yet electrifying... there's a certain energy in the air that's hard to describe. Foodies are all around you enjoying great conversation while tasting some of the best food and wine I've ever had in the this country. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable on all their dishes and beverages. Ask Chris for the (off the menu wine list) and he'll verbally introduce you to wines from regions you don't normally find at restaurants. Sit at the bar with 3 friends and ask for one of each of the food menu and watch Chef Bob create these master pieces right in front you, then share them with your friends while sipping on that delicious wine. The food keeps coming out in a very precise order that makes your taste buds wake up from a long hibernation of regular food dinners at other restaurants. Overall we spent 3 hours there last night, eating, drinking, watching and conversing. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Fabulous food and service. Small plates, elevated. Great wine and beer options. Fine foods, yet unpretentious. The attention to detail is obvious. This is the hidden hotspot where it will be hard to get a reservation one day. At risk of making my future ability to get in difficult, they absolutely deserve my most positive review.

We came here for a friends bday party and we’re super impressed with the place. They have a back room for private parties, and the rest of the place has seating around the kitchen so you can engage with the chef and really see what’s happening with your food from start to finish. The menu changes frequently which is cool, and what’s cooler is it’s because they source their products locally and sustainably. Definitely recommend if your looking for a unique dining experience and top notch food.

If you ever want to provide an amazing culinary experience for a special someone in your life, make reservations at Liberty Alternative American in Ft. Myers. The chef/owners are locally known masters at their craft. The service is beyond remarkable. On our most recent visit, we were fortunate enough to have the 2 best seats in the house. Each dish we ordered was excellently prepared right before our eyes. (As well as every other guests orders). I could describe each dish in extreme detail, but I'll simply share the pics and let you know we will be back to try the rest of the menu. In no particular order, we had the 50 Layer Potatoes, the Octopus, the Lamb, the Bone Marrow Tacos, and for dessert the French toast. Just be prepared to be food envious of the table next to you while you dine in a quaint, 24-seat food paradise.

The food and service was fantastic. Best steak tartare in town, great short rib etc. A wonderful experience. Dress light, it gets pretty warm in the due to the open kitchen. We chose the booth...no regrets.

Wow - what a great find! This is a wonderful restaurant. It's small/intimate (look closely for the sign!) and the staff are delightful. The menu is thoughtful and creative. The food (small plates/Tapas) is outstanding and served at a perfect pace. Enjoy!

Surprise find - what a great experience. Highly creative menu - great flavors in smaller portions (but priced very reasonably) and complex built dishes. We came two nights in a row. Excellent risotto and you can watch the chef make everything from the counter. (One note - it is hard to find this place. The google address has the wrong suite - it's a very subtly marked location)

Stopped in yesterday night to treat myself to a small meal and I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu. I ordered the cobia and the steak tartare to start. Bob was super helpful in pairing my wines with my courses and definitely added that little umph to each bite. My phone died before I could snap a picture of the snapper. But it was cooked to perfection. Crispy and salty on the outside and so flaky and mild on the inside. I will definitely be adding Liberty to my rotation of reasturaunts. An amazing addition to ft myers😊.(stopped in for another visit and just as blown away)

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It’s nice to go out to eat at a restaurant where the people running the place actually care about the food they’re putting out and the service they’re providing. The team that was working the night we were there had a lot of heart and passion for what they were doing. It’s honestly one of the better dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I’m definitely going to try and go back the next time I’m in Ft. Myers. I love you Angelica!!

Our new favorite place! We have dined up and down the coast of Florida and no one has come close to touching the culinary experience we had at Liberty. The components of the dishes work so well together and the depth of flavor is amazing. A hidden gem.

  • 5/5 Christie C. 9 months ago on Google
Oh. My. Goodness. Just dined here, and we talked about all of the dishes all the way back to the hotel! I'm sure we'll be talking about the food for days. A favorite? Impossible! It's like picking a favorite child, lol. My son wants to be a chef and works as a line cook, so we are totally about food and cooking and everything that happens in a kitchen. Through some Google searches, I came across Liberty (thank God!) and booked a reservation many weeks before our trip. When I booked, I mentioned about my son. The owner called me a few days before our reservation and said that if we adjusted our reservation time, we could have a front row seat to the kitchen. Of course, done, thank you! It was amazing! We got to talk with Richie and Nick and see everything they were doing. We ordered SO many dishes, but we loved it all and left happy and stuffed. Here's what we had (with photos): Ora King Salmon with pineapple lime reduction and pink peppercorn - I think there's also a basil oil in it and some furikake (which we love). This tasted so fresh with just the loveliest hint of sweetness. They gave us chopsticks if we wanted - which we used. Comes with a (maybe pickled?) cabbage slaw. Divine 50 Layer Potato - French onion style with Gruyére. It's like French onion soup but with layered potatoes and a bit of gravy. The edges are the best, and my kiddo snuck in and ate almost all of them, so grab those first, people! Steak Tartare with egg pâté and bone mayo - and yes, I said that right. Egg pâté. Just this whipped eggy amazingness. Comes with these hot maybe pita triangles. You pile on all the goodness on that hot pita triangle with some mustard of sorts (like honey mustard and pub mustard had a baby) and enjoy the flavor party in your mouth. The bone mayo by itself is also super good - packaged it, sell it, send us some in Ohio, please. Parisian gnocchi maitake with carrot puree and pesto - we learned that Parisian gnocchi isn't made with potatoes. Who knew? We were given a little sample of this and ended up ordering a full dish! The puree is run through a siphon and is light and creamy and not super carroty - just the right amount of carrot flavor. The pesto is made with (I THINK) they said pistachio or something other than pine nuts. It's just the perfect compliment to this dish. I thought it just made the dish - pesto, you complete me. Shrimp toast with new style sweet chili - one word. YUM. More, please. I almost cried because they accidentally took away the sweet chili before I finished my toast. 2 Bite Taco with pineapple mojo pork, pickles and seeds - order two. Just the cutest little taco of deliciousness. Fatty duck breast with maple and gochujang - one of the dishes we fought over. I lost. Came with (I THINK) sweet potato. Honestly, I was focused on the duck, lol. And spell correct, yes, I meant duck this time.... :) Marrow bone with crispy beef and black garlic - so interesting! Came with these little pieces of toast that reminded me of Texas toast, so they were probably "fried" in drippings or fat. I could have just eaten a plate of that toast and had some wine and been in foodie heaven. But then pile on some crispy beef and marrow and yum. For dessert, we had the lemon vanilla tart with fennel fronds and edible flowers. Such a beautiful dish - although, honestly, every dish was so well plated. But then we also had some Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream - please package and sell this, Liberty. I'll take an order of it and some bone mayo. Send to Ohio. And a little cherry and chocolate chunk ice cream. Needless to say - we rolled ourselves out of there and went back to our hotel some very happy foodie geeks. The couple next to us eats there weekly, and the guys just make them whatever, and they love it. I may just have to move to Fort Myers to get my regular Liberty fix! It's seriously that good. If you haven't been, then you must book your reservation immediately and get ready for a wonderful experience - food, wine, people, service, everything. <3 Thanks for making this one of the highlights of our trip to FL!

Our first opportunity to try Liberty and it did not disappoint! Our party of 4 sampled almost everything on the menu (we missed the Grouper cheeks, Duck and Foie Gras) but every plate was delicious. Difficult to choose favorites but the Scallops, Mole Beef and Medium Rare Chocolate Chip Cookie were at the top of my list. The chefs and staff were very helpful and attentive and have all worked together for nearly a decade beginning at Cru. Makes for an efficient and well run operation. Be sure and ask for Jocelyn, she took care of us, explained and recommended choices and did an awesome job taking care of us during our nearly 3 hour culinary experience.

  • 5/5 Michael D. 4 years ago on Google
Chef Bob Boye and his team have created a dining experience that feels customized for each guest. The menu is an evolutionary representation of his cooking career. Earthy and green forward with exceptional vegan dishes while still retaining space for his perfectly executed carnivore's classics. It is intimate because he wants it that way and you will appreciate it.

Thank God for Tock or we wouldn’t have found this gem!! It is very hidden— make sure your Uber has the exact address! Small plates, big and interesting and thoughtful flavors— INCREDIBLE wine. So incredible that I just had to take photos of every pairing. We will for sure be back!

Our first time in trying Liberty, a new type of restaurant in Ft Myers. They’ve been open for nearly 10 months and have developed a small following. I want you think tapas. If you know what that is, then this is what Liberty is all about. Small dishes, creatively prepared and having a sense of elegance. We tried the grouper dish, the Parmesan gnocchi and the potato special. All unique and delicious! The cheesecake with a peach and Thai basil reduction was heaven! The food is what you come for. The service is terrific and friendly. The location and atmosphere hopefully will change as the owner becomes more successful. Go and try it out!
