"A
Stay
of
Mixed
Emotions
in
an
Untapped
Paradise"
My
recent
stay
at
this
hotel,
in
early
July,
presented
a
blend
of
exhilarating
highs
and
disappointing
lows.
This
destination,
nestled
in
a
visually
stunning
locale,
was
both
a
delight
and
a
dilemma,
offering
an
ambience
that
was
both
private
and
exclusive.
Herein
lies
its
greatest
asset
and
its
most
glaring
flaw
-
the
property's
unparalleled
natural
beauty
juxtaposed
with
a
lack
of
attention
to
detail
in
service
and
maintenance.
On
the
positive
side,
the
hotel
is
situated
amidst
breathtaking
scenery
that
captivates
at
first
glance.
From
the
expansive
and
inviting
pool
and
jacuzzi
area
that
is
complemented
by
an
enjoyable
musical
backdrop,
to
the
lush
greenery
that
surrounds
the
property,
this
place
screams
relaxation.
The
Junior
Suite
we
occupied
boasted
a
rustic,
cabin-like
interior
and
was
equipped
with
a
generously-sized
California
King
bed
and
an
additional
single
bed
-
all
remarkably
comfortable.
A
notable
plus
was
the
sense
of
privacy
and
exclusivity,
undoubtedly
amplified
by
the
relatively
low
occupancy
during
our
stay.
The
presence
of
local
fauna
like
lizards
and
the
serenading
sounds
of
crickets
and
capuchin
monkeys
added
a
delightful
layer
of
authenticity
to
our
stay.
However,
prospective
guests
should
be
prepared
for
some
street
noise,
a
by-product
of
the
busy
road
that
runs
adjacent
to
the
property.
The
hotel
staff,
albeit
few
in
number,
were
generally
helpful,
assisting
with
luggage
and
promptly
arranging
a
taxi
for
our
airport
transfer.
However,
communication
with
them
could
sometimes
be
challenging
due
to
the
necessity
of
buzzing
for
assistance.
Regrettably,
our
stay
was
marred
by
several
avoidable
issues
that
detracted
from
the
overall
experience.
The
most
glaring
issue
was
the
cleanliness
of
our
suite.
Upon
arrival,
we
discovered
that
the
bathroom
had
not
been
cleaned
thoroughly,
with
the
mirror
and
shower
left
wet.
The
missing
sliding
shower
door
resulted
in
a
perpetually
soaked
bathroom
floor
and,
to
compound
our
disappointment,
the
water
heater
was
non-functional.
The
in-room
dining
experience
left
much
to
be
desired
as
well.
My
order
for
a
dish
with
beans
was
misunderstood
and
led
to
an
unsatisfactory
meal.
Furthermore,
although
the
menu
offered
an
array
of
chicken
options,
there
was
no
chicken
available,
thereby
significantly
limiting
our
dining
choices.
That
being
said,
the
dishes
we
did
try
were
well-prepared
and
delicious.
There
were
other
minor
inconveniences
as
well.
A
noticeable
urine
odor
was
present
when
the
room
was
closed,
which
could
only
be
mitigated
by
opening
the
doors
and
turning
off
the
air
conditioning.
The
pool
and
jacuzzi
services
closed
rather
early
at
8
pm,
which
felt
like
a
premature
end
to
our
enjoyment.
Moreover,
the
breakfast
service
could
do
with
improvements.
The
"traveler's
breakfast"
for
early
departures,
a
promise
of
juice,
a
ham
and
cheese
sandwich,
and
cut
fruit,
lacked
the
promised
fruit.
The
absence
of
a
convenient
packaging
solution
for
the
breakfast
was
another
letdown.
In
conclusion,
the
natural
beauty
and
exclusivity
of
this
property
are
its
strongest
selling
points.
However,
there's
a
significant
room
for
improvement
in
terms
of
service
and
maintenance.
At
its
current
pricing,
compared
to
surrounding
competitors,
the
hotel
needs
to
ensure
that
the
quality
of
service
matches
its
stunning
aesthetics.
For
now,
potential
visitors
might
want
to
set
their
expectations
accordingly
and
come
prepared
with
mosquito
repellent.
Overall
rating:
3/5.
