This is one of Bordeaux’s most historic landmarks commissioned by Napoleon and finished after his death. It is beautiful day or night and lovely to walk across as the tide rushes in or out. The 17 arches are for the the letters in Napoleon’s full name. It’s popular with runners because the traffic is limited.

From french it's name measn Stone bridge. Despite that, the bridge is built mainly out of bricks and not stone. It has 17 arches (according to the legend the number of letters in the name 'Napoléon Bonaparte') who issued the construction to help his troops cross the river more quickly when going towards Spain. Connecting the left and right banks of the Garrone, this is the first bridge ever built in Bordeaux. It is used by tram, cars and pedestrians.

Beautifully majestic old stone bridge of Bordeaux, and is in alignment with Porte de Bourgogne over the Garrone River. Lovely old bridge from early 1800s and the only bridge until the Pont Saint-Jean bridge was constructed in 1965. I enjoyed walking the whole length of it as it takes you from the left bank (Cours Victor Hugo) to the right bank (Avenue Thiers), quartier de la Bastille, across the Garrone River. And best of all, no vehicles except for the tram and emergency vehicles. Highly recommended to explore and feel its impressive history. A great place to "promenade"!

The bridge, which is closed to vehicle traffic, has a view where you can take great landscape photos with night lighting. Very beautiful bridge reminiscent of other times ... time travel !!! The movement of the Garon River is impressive. The evening is also very nice and worth a walk exploring Bordeaux by night.

This was another mandatory stop during our visit to Bordeaux. We walked it back and forth a couple of times just to look and take pictures around. Great photo opportunities and a good walking location. It was closed for vehicles during my visit but bikes and pedestrians were allowed to go through.

Better in the evening, with all the lights. It is curious, but the person's walk only on one side of the bridge, although permitted on both.

One of the best ways to really appreciate this bridge is from the water. Our smallish cruise boat had to wait for low tide to pass underneath the bridge and pay very close attention to the red/green lights for passage. There, you will find beautiful architecture from 19th century. Swim, float, paddle, use a boat, but don't miss this water view of the bridge.

What a good looking bridge! Trams, bikes and pedestrians. No cars when I walked over it yesterday, great place to watch the fireworks last night

This bridge caught my attention while i was walking near the river. It looked really nice. Its a long walk but i get to enjoy the view and the people who were there as well. You can also see the current's strength of the river and it looks very scary. Viewed from a distance, the autumn leaves adds more beauty especially if seen from an angle.

18 arches, Le pont de pierre is lit up at night and ferries trams, scooters and pedestrians throughout the day. But not cars! A busy road, it will take you over to la bastide where you can visit Darwin Ecosystem and other neighbourhoods in bordeaux

Nice stone bridge to walk along and cross the river. Easily accessible and the tram also crosses this bridge. A nice open space at the other end of the bridge with some cafes around. Ample space to walk or jog, and also vehicles crosses the bridge.

Worth to see that water is yellow in Garrona. Nice place for taking a walk and/or run. Not too crowded by cars. Mainly public traffic and a lot of tourist. Good place to take a nice picture of Bordeaux river side.

(Translated by Google) We crossed the Pierre Bridge on a Friday evening. There were few people and enough room for pedestrians, the few cyclists and cars to move each in its own lane. Only what ambulances and fire trucks were rushing past. The view of the lit docks is pretty.
