We decided to pay this restaurant a visit after read all the positive reviews on Google. We got there 27 minutes before 7pm and lined up in the sun until the restaurant open. Everyone works in the restaurant is very friendly! The salad is okish, not much dressing. The beef is extremely tender! The sauce is very fattening but tasty. Personally I think the fries is the star of the dish! It’s very crispy and moist at the same time. And the waitress replenishes your fries. We’ve also ordered their famous desert Profiteroles. The sauce is not sweet, tasted like a watery chocolate sauce. There are lots of ice cream. The Profiteroles doesn’t taste good by itself.

Now those slices of sirloin were delicious. But because this is the only food they prepare everything is done very fast. They only ask you how would you like your meet to be cooked and do you want fries. Fries are with unlimited refill and the choices for the meat vary from blue (never seen a pan) to well-done (but you destroy the meat like that). My choice was medium rare. Pro-tip: Do not eat the bread with salad. You gonna need it for the sause of the sirloin. I remove one star, because the salad was the most basic and simple one you can get. Just green leaves garden salad with walnuts. Would have enjoyed much more if it had at least some blue cheese in it. Pro tip:Also for lunch time it opens only for 2 hours, so be there in advance at least half hour. We spent there more than 1 hr, so the next costomers after us need to eat in a ruch, because the place doesn't take reservations.

Great restaurant located in one of the main place of Bordeaux. We were lucky to be able to get a table in less than 5 minutes. The menu is simple: 1 choice and you are asked how you want the steak to be cooked. Food is great, services are quick but there was a lot of pigeons flying around. Fries are crispy and the steaks are amazing.

We waited for 30 minutes in a line thinking we were about to eat an amazing meal. Seriously the most overrated place on earth. Chips, steak sitting in a split butter sauce. Service was terrible as the waiters were just sick and tired of serving the same dish over and over again. The salad was a mere Iceberg lettuce smothered in what seemed to be bottled dressing. Not worth waiting for at ALL. Better places to eat in beautiful Bordeaux.

Although the name of the restaurant is entrecôte, it actually sells faux fillet as a single menu item. In the evening, it opens at 7pm, but there is already a long line before it opens. There are plenty of tables inside, so if you're lucky you can get in when the door opens, otherwise you'll have to wait a long time. I waited 50 minutes to be able to enter, so of course the taste was good, but it looks like a simple salad and french fries, but it's really delicious. The server told me that you can order the meat as rare, medium, or well cooked (there is no medium-well done in France). By the way, you can also order 'blue', which means raw meat. They were kind and serve the meat so it doesn't get cold, and it was delicious. A taste worth waiting in line for.

Worth the wait! Queued for 45min on a Tuesday night. They don’t take reservations. The beef is so tender! The sauce is amazing with chips and bread! Even the salad tasted super refreshing! Chips are so nice! Crispy and the right level of frying flavour:)

A nice place for a dinner, despite the long queue. It’s typical to wait 1 hour. When get in, it will be faster. The flavor is good, only a bit oily. The beef is fresh.

I waited 45 minutes in line to enter because they don't accept reservations. The place is cozy and the meat and french fries are really delicious! However, waitresses are not kind and they don't speak English. Prices are affordable, I recommend this place if you are visiting the centre of Bordeaux!

L'Entrecote is an institution in Bordeaux! It's a very nice and popular place in town. In fact, already an hour before opening a waiting queue begins to form. The restaurant has three floors with plenty of seating. Only one dish is served, which gives the restaurant its name. The entrecote is truly a good dish and the sauce made by them is very good. Fully recommended!

They will say it often, when you focus on one thing you cannot go wrong. Very good option for meat enthusiasts if you’re willing to make a queue of a few minutes to get in. Id recommend to try it out. For more experiences like this, follow @quiquinnv

Incredible steak, so tender and cooked how we wanted it. The sauce was delicious and the fries just kept coming. The service was really good, our starter (the walnut salad) come within minutes of us sitting down and the steak followed shortly. Atmosphere was amazing and the house bottle of wine was lovely too.

Yes if you visit Bordeaux you definitely need to go here. The meat is just perfect and delicious but the sauce makes the difference. Be aware there might be a cue even there are 3 floors. The waiting time is worth it And yes the staff does speak English and flying to serve you

Doesn’t live up to the hype. There are only so many ways you can serve up beef steak and fries. Nothing special here. The only reason I’ve given three stars is because of the amazing work rate of the waitress we had looking after our table. Fries were great. Meat was very undercooked. For reference, “medium rare means slightly pink, not bloody red”. The worst part that the restaurant should be ashamed of is the way they leave people waiting in line on the street, despite there being empty tables inside so as to create some sort of interest or hype to make people believe there is something that everyone wants badly. So people see others queuing outside and think they should do the same. We waited 45 minutes in the hot sun for quite a disappointing meal. We won’t be returning here. Don’t always believe the hype…..

I went here for dinner last night and it was probably one of my favourite meals I've ever had. We queued from 6.30pm and got seated at around 8.00pm (we missed the first seating by 10 people). The service throughout was just fantastic. To start you are given a salad with walnuts and a vinaigrette which was tasty. Then after a few minutes you are served your steak cooked to your request with a mountain of delicious, crispy fries. My partner and I both went for rare steak. The sauce was so good and they replenish your fries half way through. We finished with profiteroles shared between us which were really tasty and quite rich. It was a really fun experience and I would definitely go again.

There was a queue today (not a long one, waited for 40min), but the food will definitely payoff the waiting time. There’s only one thing you can choose—steak, the waitress come up and ask: bleu (blue), saignant (rare), a point (medium rare) & bien cult (well done). We got a rare and a medium rare and a small bottle of wine. (I personally find rare quite good) Fries are unlimited, the waitress will ask you if you want some more. The salad serves first. Then comes the bread, but don’t eat the bread with salad, otherwise, you will waste the sauce in the steak pan (I read from previous reviews and found it very helpful:)) I saw almost everyone ordered the dessert, the chocolate one, unfortunately we were too full for that.

I loved it! Steak and fries and maybe a beer or glass of wine. I went there and had to queue a little bit so was lucky to get there at the right time. The reviews are right and when we left there was a queue round the corner! There was a mix of groups, families and couples and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

We saw the great reviews and the rather large queue at the door and it just seemed like a place we had to visit. We arrived at 1910 and had to queue for nearly an hour and a half. But the food was just incredible. The sauce and the steak was divine and the house wine was a great accompaniment. I would recommend this for anyone who has one of these great restaurants in the city they visit

Was nervous it would be overrated but it absolutely was not. It is truly incredible and an unforgettable experience! We showed up at 11:30am and got in right away when they opened at 12:00pm. One of the best steaks! The wine and profiteroles are a must.

We were super surprised that people stay in a queue every day for hours and hour to eat that meat. But definitely the meat was spectacular!! I highly recommend this place if you want to feel French authentic atmosphere and try really good traditional meat!!!

The food is good, the service is excellent, but it is NOT the place you need to go if you are in Bordeaux. There is a long waiting line and I will not wait a second time for just a good meal. The meat is served with a sauce of herbs and melted butter. The fries are good and you can get as much as you like.

Succeeded my expectations despite those expectations being very high. A must do if you’re in Bordeaux, as the other branches (Paris/ London) are much more difficult to get into. We got there around 20 minutes before opening and were the last table of the first seating, so I would recommend going earlier.

Entrecote and fries were very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Did not wait for too long because we arrived a bit late (21:30) The meat sauce had a little bit more butter for my liking.

Amazing staff, long queue. Steak is wonderful it has walnut sauce. Wine is great. Fries are too much. In general you will come of the restaurant very happy and full. Price is reasonable. They start with a delicious salad includes letus and walnut. Dressing is amazing. The dessert is magnificent.

Steak and unlimited French fries Faultless, throughly enjoyed everything. Even the lettuce with walnut with light dressing was great starter to have. Recommend jointing the queue before open time by half an hour to ensure you get a table for there lunch hour slot or you may miss out Reasonable at 21 euros A small bottle there house wine 9 euros Service was faultless super friendly

I mean this place is an establishment!! I remember trying to get into the one in Paris and the line was just to long. Even here I got there at 7:05 and still had to wait an hour. But wow, it's simple and so good. It's so impressive watching the people work.

Believe the hype! Entrecôte is a cut of beef 🥩, but what makes this one so special is the green-buttery sauce they bathe it in. You get two cuts, a thicker piece and a thinner one, and it is served one cut at a time, the other piece is kept warm on a serving dish. The fries/chips are utterly delicious

Amazing steak and chips and great service. We had to wait for a bit for entry here as they don't take bookings. But that was expected with it being a weekend too. Once inside there is a very traditional vibe, a big place with lots of tables. The steak and chips were perfect and you get plenty of food. Service was great too, never had to call for attention once, got extra chips as well!

This place is definitely worth the queue! The queue can seem daunting but there is a nice atmosphere of excitement from both tourists and locals. The service was quick and friendly. The salad was actually much better than I expected. But the main event did not disappoint, by far the best fries I have eaten and the steak and sauce were delicious. Profiteroles to end were decadent. The queue may seem daunting, but I would certainly recommend to anyone, even just once to take part in the whole experience!

If you love steak you will love this restaurant. The dish is a 3 course meal that consists of a walnut salad, steak and fries, and dessert. The walnut salad was not anything special. The fries tasted amazing and the steak was pretty good too. The desserts were delicious, my personal favorite being the Carmel crème which was a flan type desert. Staff was very friendly as well and restaurant had nice interior.

  • 5/5 Juanjo 1 year ago on Google
The staff is gentle, and they take care of you. They are super busy but if you go there you should not be hurry The Entrecôte is perfect, thing perfectly cook even you order raw. They offer you more French fries. The wine is table wine, is going well with the food The average of service, food and price is the perfect formula. There is a queue so you have to be patience, the are 3 floors but we are a lot of people waiting to eat the fantastic meat

Worth the wait (one hour) as the food was excellent and our server was really friendly and lovely. Frites à volonté ! However, I remove one star for the hostess at the door who, in consideration of the one hour we spent waiting in line in the cold, needn't have attempted to make us feel guilty for preferring to be seated downstairs. We sat downstairs anyway and the meal truly was delicious.

  • 4/5 Shafeeq S. 2 years ago on Google
Not giving 5 stars only because of the fact that you should wait in line to get in. Otherwise once you’re inside, everything is great, the service, the food , the dessert ….

  • 5/5 Shawn J. 2 years ago on Google
This restaurant is straight to business, and I loved it. Wine, steak, fries. All of it was delicious (although I wish the steak was a bit hotter, mine was just warm). Still, I loved the whole experience and would go back.

With so many culinary choices in Bordeaux, why local people stay in line for hours to eat at L’Entrecote? Just one menu, but tasty beaf and french fries just like my husband likes it.

The dishes were good as in Lyon and Toulouse. We enjoyed a lot the steak with their special sauce and french fries. The stuff was friendly and helpful.
