We had this trip from Bordeaux to St Emilion. It included visits to 3 vineyards with tastings and a guided walking tour and 2 hours free time in St. Emilion village. The first 2 visits were very good and informative and complemented each other nicely. Also the tasted wines were well chosen. The last visit was disappointing. It didn't contain any relevant information, and the person doing the representation was at the same time taking care of two other visitor groups (couples). The tasted wines were not introduced properly, just poured to glasses quickly. Our driver/guide Charles was very helpful and gave us a lot of information about wine making and the St. Emilion area during the trip. He was also very willing to answer all our questions. The walking tour in the Village was informative and Charles gave several suggestions for lunch restaurants. There was also enough free time. Without the disappointing third visit this would have been five star experience.

I usually don't do tours on my vacations and choose to do self guided tours. I went out on a limb in booking this tour and I'm happy I did! Our tour guide, Matt, kept our attentions all day with great flow of stories and facts. I'd recommend this above any other option!

Matt Turner is the best guide I have ever had. I have traveled a lot and had many good tour guides. This was THE best. His obvious awe of his surroundings and knowledge of WWII were infectious. This man can tell a story and make it all come alive. I'm not sure how the heavens aligned so that we were on his tour today, but my husband and I will be eternally grateful.

We did the half day 4 hour tour to St Emillion Pros: - Our guide Camille was absolutely lovely and very informative. She grew up in the area and had a lot of information to share regarding the traditions and history of the surrounding area - The pick up/ drop off and drive to St Emillion was easy to navigate - We first stopped at St Emillion which was very quaint and picturesque. We were able to see the beautiful look out and famous walk way. - Our guide at the Chateaux was also nice and informative. He took us through the inside of the Chateaux and taught us how their wine is traditionally made. The wine we sampled was good. Cons: - We only had 35 minutes of free time to tour the town of St Emillion. Since this was a morning tour, we arrived quite early and most of the shops were just opening up. Very little time to explore and buy anything if we needed. It felt a bit rushed - For the cost of this tour, we thought we would have gotten to taste more wine. Tour included samples of 3 wines from one Chateaux. - We only toured the inside of the Chateaux and did not get to see the vineyard Recommendations: - For the cost, the duration of the tour should be longer and should allow for more time in St Emillion to explore and potentially grab breakfast/ lunch OR should include a secondary wine tasting at another Chateaux OR should include some food to pair along with the wine - It would be better if the wine tasting was first followed by a trip to St Emillion so that when we arrive, the shops would all be open and we could have the opportunity to buy local wine and potentially some food

We have a great time on the excursion with the Rodolphe. He knows really a lot about France, Bordeaux and vine and so… we were pleased to listen him during all the trip. It was very comfortable, interesting and friendly trip. Dégustation also was quite informative and pleasant. My first experience when I really felt the difference in different vines. We really appreciate it!

Matt is an amazing tour guide, originally from the UK, so we had to teach him proper American English. Haha. He is a great orator with a ton of knowledge about each site we visited. He talked the whole drive between stops, while adding different perspectives. Amazing storyteller. Really appreciative to throw in the German and French perspectives. He has done his research and thoroughly recommended.

This tour is amazing. Small group, wonderful tour guide Rodolphe and incredible itinerary. We visited 3 Chateaus for wine tasting and spent time in St Emilion. Rodolphe is entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about the history and the wine business. He is also very kind and very attentive to the guests. Don't miss this one!

An excellent half day tour of the US Military sites of the D Day Normandy landings. Our guide, John, was a very resourceful and knowledgeable person. The tour is well suited for anyone interested in the historical and tactical facts and insights into the amphibious landings. A little bit of prior knowledge and research will help visitors to appreciate this tour even better. As they say in America, it was well worth the bang for the buck.

Our tour guide, Valentin, was wonderful! He was so informative and made the experience very engaging and fun. We had the pleasure of having him guide us twice and would very highly recommend him as your guide! We visited Saint-Émilion and the Médoc region. Both were beautiful and the wines were excellent. You must visit when you’re in Bordeaux!

Highly recommend this tour! Our guide, Angie, was extremely knowledgeable about the region and led us through a fantastic and informative day. We experienced three vineyards, each with their own unique tasting. Love that we also were able to enjoy independent time in Saint Emilion.

Karim was an amazing tour guide - super funny and energetic and kept the whole Bus laughing in stitches. Was very knowledgeable of Bordeaux and surrounding areas matched with great wine knowledge which he openly shared with us. Would highly recommend folks to take this tour!

My wife and I enjoyed a great day out to Saint Emilion with our guide Justine. She was quite knowledgeable and hospitable. Not only did we had some good varieties of wine tasting in three vineyards but we also learned a lot more about Bordeaux wines and Saint Emilion/Pomerol appellations and classifications in particular. There was some free time for lunch and a leisurely stroll to explore the village ourselves and Justine gave us some good advices and recommendations. It was a good tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable. Angie our guide was excellent!! Learned a lot both at the Chateau but also loads whilst on the drive. Half a day was more than enough. St Emilion is absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommended if you like wine as we do :)

Tour was wonderful. Saw two Chateau Wineriesmnand Medoc region. Guide was excellent and wine tastings were great. Very comfortable minivan with only 8 people. Both properties were unique. Also stopped at Château Margaux for beautiful pictures. Our second day and another great tour by Ophorus. First day was the full day tour in St Emilion with an excellent knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend for both tours.

Our trip with Julie was extraordinary. She was so personable and knowledgeable about everything Bordeaux. The city was amazing. The wineries were so beautiful to see as well as the local on-premise tour guide. Such a nice experience. Thank you.

We had a wonderful day with Luigi. He was very knowledgeable about wine, the process, the area. And a very nice guy! We did a second trip with another company because the timing worked better. We thought Ophorus was better!

We had Karim as our driver and tour guide. He was truly amazing from start to finish. We knowledgeable and funny about to whole region, wines of the area and wines of the world. This tour is excellent, small groups and fast paced. The chateau Gérard was great and the choice and variety of wines in the tasting was great to compare the differences and really get to sample the region. You can really see the passion and knowledge in everyone on the tour, fun from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this tour

Our tour had Julie as its’ guide. As the tour description said, two wineries are visited, then Saint Emilion followed by a third and final winery. The wineries were all distinct and the historic city of St. Emilion is beautiful. It was Julie’s elegant, kind, and informative touch that made the tour a pleasant experience. Her upbringing in the wine country brought a pride in the way she approached her work and taught us all. This experience brings a wonderful touch to one’s trip to Bordeaux.

This tour was amazing!!! Very hands on tour guide that took us to amazing vineyards, chateaus, and wine tastings. Gave us a nice tour of some of the smaller towns. One of the best wine tours we’ve been on. We did both the Medoc and St-Emilion wine tasting and tours and would highly recommend them to anyone in and around Bordeaux. It was excellent!!!

Did the full day tour with Angie. Honestly the most experience imaginable to learn about the history and tastes of Bordeaux and saint emilion wines! Angie was amazing with her knowledge and kept the day fun and exciting. Also the 3 different chateaus offered a delicious selection of appellation wines along with a story of the wines journey to our palates. Highly recommend it to anyone !

Luigi was a wonderful guide and St Emilion was stunning. The wine was delicious and the tour through the chateau was very interesting. Must do trip if you are in Bordeaux.

Our guide, Luigi, for this tour of the beautiful Saint Emilion was fantastic! Being a sommelier and a history major gave us the chance to learn about both the wine and region in depth. The small family owned Chateau we visited first was charming and featured great wine. I would definitely recommend Luigi and this tour to anyone in the area!

We had a wonderful tour along the "Chateaux Route" in the Medoc region today! We visited a variety of wineries - from a small family-run enterprise to a medium-sized operation in a castle chateau to a more established winery with exceptional Grand Cru wine. Along the way we stopped for photos of several of the chateaux castles. Our group was small and our guide Julie was very pleasant and informative. We had a lovely day!

Kareem was very informative and personable. He was knowledgeable about the history of the region. We enjoyed the time we spent with him on the road up there and back. So glad the group was small. Next time we will book a full day as a half day is not enough for St. Emileon.
