1
star
for
the
owners
of
this
hotel
who
are
accountable
for
the
following
experience.
(The
staff
seemed
to
try
their
best.)
1.
At
0.30am
on
May
31
there
was
a
fire
alarm
and
we
all
had
to
evacuate.
There
was
no
fire.
The
fire
dept
did
not
come.
2.
It
is
now
02.47am.
The
alarm
is
off
but
there
is
no
power
and
no
confirmed
explanation
for
the
cause
of
the
alarm.
The
buildings
next
door
have
power.
3.
There
is
one
person
working,
the
Night
Manager.
He
seems
to
be
doing
his
best
but
he
seems
overwhelmed
and
he
seems
to
have
zero
support.
He
keeps
calling
people
on
the
phone
and
getting
no
help.
4.
For
1.5
hours
all
guests
were
out
in
the
street
or
in
the
lobby
of
the
hotel.
We
were
patient
and
polite
but
got
almost
no
information
about
what
was
happening.
5.
After
1.5
hrs
the
Night
Manager
made
an
offer
to
4
parties
in
the
lobby
to
relocate
them
to
other
hotels.
We
accepted
this
offer
but
after
30
mins
he
said
all
hotels
in
the
area
were
full
and
we
cannot
be
relocated.
6.
There
was
a
family
with
a
crying
baby
in
the
lobby.
They
were
extremely
patient
but
I
observed
them
getting
zero
support.
It's
surprising
to
me
that
the
hotel
couldn't
provide
them
in
particular
with
better
care.
There
wasn't
one
hotel
room
in
Paris
they
could
have
been
relocated
to?
7.
It
is
now
2.50am,
and
power
is
restored.
We
can
return
to
our
rooms.
8.
Real
Time
Update:
2.55am
the
alarm
is
going
again.
We
have
to
evacuate
again.
9.
03.18
alarm
is
going
again.
There
are
finally
2
maintenance
guys
here,
but
they're
unable
to
solve
the
issue.
They
have
called
for
extra
help,
which
will
arrive
sometime
tomorrow
morning.
The
attached
pic
is
the
"end
state"
of
the
fire
alarm
system
after
their
best
efforts
to
solve
the
problem.
The
alarm
is
unplugged.
The
manager
warned
us
of
this
fact
and
said
we
could
stay
here
at
our
own
risk.
I
appreciated
the
honesty
about
this,
but
it
wasn't
a
very
good
resolution.
Several
parties
asked
for
help
relocating
to
another
hotel
but
were
told
that
this
wasn't
possible
due
to
hotels
in
the
area
being
full.
Some
of
us
did
try
to
find
rooms
on
our
own,
no
luck
(it
was
4am).
10.
The
next
morning,
the
manager
offered
to
comp
one
night
(but
not
city
taxes
of
about
5
euro)
and
also
offered
one
future
free
room
night.
He
explained
that
he
thinks
some
kids
or
pranksters
hit
the
evacuation
button,
which
is
just
inside
the
front
door
of
the
hotel.
This
is
consistent
with
what
one
of
the
guests
observed
last
night.
Positives:
-
great
location,
much
more
interesting
to
us
than
the
main
tourist
zone.
Small
shops,
lots
of
locals,
younger,
more
diverse.
-
Well-meaning
staff,
and
they
have
been
friendly.
They
speak
English
well
and
have
been
patient
with
my
terrible
French.
Minor
Issues:
On
day
1,
no
cleaning
of
the
room
despite
displaying
the
"please
clean
my
room"
tag
on
the
door
between
11am
and
15.30pm.
We
returned
to
the
room
at
15.30.
Not
a
big
issue.
-
rooms
are
quite
small
but
this
is
normal
for
this
area
and
Paris
in
general.
Not
a
big
issue.
