At least that part with electric, petrol appliances, etc is great. It is so densely packed with all kinds of things, like a neutron star! Sellers are eager to help. Prices are lower than in stores. And the quality is similar. Could even find stuff you would never see in stores.

If you can buy anywhere else - do so. Most shop fronts are empty (midday of Sunday), no card payments, no receipts. I feel sorry for tradesmen. There are niche choice items to be found in here. But it is barely competitive due to low volume trade. In other words this place needs to adapt or begone.

I visit this hudge marketplace only as concert hall. Intermezzo is the name of the annual fall festival. Somehow it grew under my skin.

As a tourist in any city I love visiting the local market and this one doesn't disappoint. The place is more vast that expected, can easily get lost among the stalls outside and in with wares from all over Asia and Eastern Europe. Needs a good half day to explore it all, start early! Good bus connections.

Always a wonderful market. Outrageously large, you should definitely set aside a whole day to go around it. A lot of different stalls, mostly clothes but also a lot of other things, we found for example watches and perfumes. Speaking of clothes, they are really cheap, besides there are fake shirts and the perfumes in question were also fake five-euro products. Ferrari, Gucci, Versace can be found cheaply. Many sellers do not speak a word of English, only Lithuanian and a small part of Estonia apparently. In addition, when you go to look at something, some of the sellers come to push you, for example, they came to push me collared shirts and fake shoes. A slight disadvantage is that the market closes at two in the afternoon, so you have to be brisk if you want to visit the whole market. This is the only problem, otherwise a great market. Thank you, Gariunai!

Biggest Open Market in Lithuania, with biggest black economy shadows underground... Always negotiate about the price, some of them came to work... Not for fun :)
