Great workshop and exhibition! I had noticed some amber workshops on TripAdvisor for 51 Euro each. When I stepped into this shop and asked, she gave me prices that had our whole family (6 people) cost 51 Euro. What a deal! We were able to schedule a workshop for the next afternoon. The workshop was in English and started with an explanation of Baltic amber and a tour of the exhibitions downstairs. Don’t miss the lizard preserved in amber! We also learned the different tests to discover if a piece of amber is authentic. Then we each received a small piece of amber which we polished and drilled a hole in, making our own souvenirs. It was exciting finding out what color of amber we each had, which was revealed during the polishing process. The shop upstairs has beautiful pieces, but we weren’t pressured to buy them. Our guide’s enthusiasm for the topic made it a fun hour!
