The farm has been in the family for over 100 years. They do both clogs and cheese there, offer a family breakfast with tastings and the farmers wife (an American married into the family) does a wonderful demo on how to make cheese. The clogger does a superb job with his demo as well. Please purchase cheeses and clogs from the family farm. The prices are better and it goes into supporting a beautifully loved family business.

This place is a must if you’re in the are! We have been here a couple of times while visiting the tulip fields. This place is great for the kiddos and adults alike. Everyone working here is very sweet and always super helpful. We enjoy the free demonstration of clog making and the cheese making of course! My kids favorite part is visiting the cows and their calf’s.

Really good experience: learnt about the clogs and cheese making. The guide is very knowledgeable and funny. The shop has nice souvenirs and all the cheese they make there. I'll come back on my next visit. 🙂

A really cool experience seeing clogs being made, learning about their cheese making process, and getting to try the delicious cheeses. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable!

Happy to support a family-owned business. Highly recommend the tour where they show you how they make their cheese. The tasting at the end is worth it. The entire family seems to be involved in the operation and they’re all very kind people—and all fluent in English for those who don’t speak Dutch. They’re very welcoming and let the little ones explore the property so you can get to know their cows if you want to see the whole process. As of this posting, 31 March 2023, there’s a 4-day-old baby cow that’s roaming around for you to meet. Overall, enjoyed it a lot and ended up spending a ton of money on cheese and clogs.

Had a lovely time learning about the process of making cheese and clogs. The entire staff was friendly and spoke excellent English. Sampled a ton of different delicious cheeses and took some home to enjoy. The kids also liked walking about the cow stables. We’ll definitely be back!

Highly recommend family owned cheese and clog factory. Very clean and so cool to see how both get made. Cows on property. So from cow to cheese.

Cheese and Clogs is a fun experience that seamlessly combines a delightful culinary experience with an insightful exploration of traditional Dutch culture. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and the aroma of delectable cheeses wafting through the air. One of the highlights of our visit was the fascinating presentation on the art of cheese and clog making. The knowledgeable staff took us on a journey through the intricacies of these age-old crafts, providing us with a deep understanding of the dedication and skill required to produce these iconic symbols of Dutch heritage. It was a joy to witness the passion and expertise that goes into every step of the process. The food at Cheese and Clogs was simply outstanding. We indulged in a variety of cheese-based dishes, each one more tantalizing than the last. From creamy Gouda to rich and tangy Edam, every bite was a burst of flavor. The menu showcased the versatility of cheese, with dishes that ranged from classic cheese platters to innovative cheese-infused creations. The attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients were evident in every dish, making for a truly memorable dining experience. In addition to the culinary delights, Cheese and Clogs offered a unique and creative activity: clog painting. We were provided with wooden clogs, brushes, and a vibrant array of paints, allowing us to express our artistic side while learning about this traditional Dutch footwear. It was a fantastic way to immerse ourselves in the local culture and create personalized souvenirs to cherish.

Clara Maria is an absolute must see while visiting in or around Amsterdam. My kids and I had a hands on learning experience on how Gouda cheese is made and the history and process of making wooden shoes. This family owned farm/business makes me want to support them even more with their love and passion of what they do and keeping traditions alive. Book the tour. Make the cheese. Taste the cheese! It was a memorable experience and I will be back!

We arrived on a very wet and stormy afternoon and weren't too sure what to expect, but I'm so glad we made the trip. My husband and son weren't sure, but were captivated by the story of cheese and clog making, and the cheese tasted amazing! Absolutely refreshing to have a family-run business across 4 generations continue to give their time to educate and make sure our visit went brilliantly. The shop is charming and packed full of variety. An absolute treasure of a find. If you're in the region definitely visit.

Had my daughters 6th birthday party here and everyone enjoyed it. Great for the kids….tractor rides, cakes, crisps, drinks, playing in the hay shed, feeding the cows, hiding presents. Also great for the parents as Farmer Kees makes it look easy to controls 10 kids.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Netherlands. The demonstration of making clogs was fascinating. Also a quick lesson on how the cheese is made. A fabulous gift store, we bought many unique gifts to take home. I regret deeply not purchasing the blue wooden shoes with lady bugs. I must get back there someday. Not to mention the wonderful friendly staff. ❤️Heidi Van Yperen

This is a family farm that has been in the family for a few generations. The family and staff are wonderful and genuinely care about their visitors. They give a demonstration of clog-making and cheese-making and there is a large selection of cheeses and clogs and other gifts available for purchase. I’ve been a few times with different groups and never been disappointed. And the cheeses in all varieties is wonderful.

What a wonderful experience! My daughter brought me here to see how the Dutch make cheese and clogs. It was so awesome to see 1st hand the work that goes into all the wonderful cheese and clogs that are made here. It's a real life experience and I would definitely recommend this if you want a real Dutch, neatherlands experience.

Friendly and quaint! We will definitely return again! Family farm, great history, when you talk to these wonderful people you will get lost in conversation and it's worth every moment. Thank you guys for such an incredible experience and for taking the time to make us feel warm and welcome in the Netherlands!

We made a last minute decision to stop here, and we had so much fun on our visit! Both kids and adults enjoyed the wood shoe and cheese making demonstrations. We enjoyed petting the cows as well. We got lots of cheese to take home. We hope to visit again. Highly recommend!

This was our best, most fun experience in the Netherlands. Background: the farm is operated by 4th generation Dutch farmers. They’ve kept the operation true to its original purposes: dairy and clog-making. Off the beaten path but easily accessed from the main roads; there’s ample parking for your family vehicle or a whole tour bus. Bring your kids—everybody—this place is built for families and anyone wanting an immersion in Dutch history. Email the family ahead of time, and they’ll take you on a tour of the farm. Start with the cow barn (including seeing the 1.5 day old calves!), then move into the clog making room. They use similar methods that have been used for 100s of years—even their “modern” machine is 100 years old. From there, you get to see how the cheese is made, including samplings of their best cheese. The shop has walls of cheese and clogs for purchase, as well as all sorts of Holland gifts and collectibles. 2 hours is about as long as you’ll spend there, so this makes a great add-on to a trip to Amsterdam. Bonus: they are very English language friendly. Language won’t be your barrier with fluent English, German, and Dutch being spoken on site.

Super cute place and incredible staff! My family came by for a free look around and absolutely loved it. The shop is full of great souvenirs and we also saw some adorable calves in the stable. We had a lovely chat with the farmer’s wife Katrina, who gave us a background on the farm, care of the cows, and Dutch life in general. We will definitely be back to do a more in-depth tour next time. We are so glad we found this farm and would highly recommend others to check it out!

This was our FAVORITE thing we did in the Amsterdam area. The clog making and cheese making demonstrations were free, but they were so great & educational that I would have paid for it. I have 6 kids and all of them got involved and loved it! They were so personable, kind, fun and generous with their time and samples. We ate soooo much cheese!! … and ended up buying quite a bit to take home to Germany because it was so tasty. We also purchased clogs and other goodies from the adorable gift shop.

This one easily one of the best experiences my family had in the Netherlands. We spent time with the cows on the farm before going into a clog making demonstration. It was super interesting and fun to see how the clogs are made. We then saw how they make that incredible Dutch cheese. The gift shop is amazing.

Awesome experience with a group tour. From the traditional clog making demonstration, to the cheese making process, we get to see the owners' passion and the work they put into the products. The gift shop is well stocked with all kinds of souvenirs. There were many photo opportunities on the site, including a giant pair of clogs. The best cheeses were amazing too. I am not sure if they are open to smaller groups or solo travelers, but this place is definitely worth visiting. Plus, the farm animals were very friendly too.

This should be a compulsory stop on every tour of Amsterdam. What lovely people very entertaining and informative and some of the nicest cheese I have eaten, ever! After several samples we chose to buy the rosemary and thyme and the mature. It remains to be seen if it makes it home somehow I doubt it.
