My mother and I recently stayed at the Supernova Hotel after reading such wonderful reviews, but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We booked one of the rooms with a balcony, hoping to be able to use it as much as possible - but there was NO lighting at all, which meant it was pitch black at night (impossible to sit out there comfortably). The room itself lacked lighting, which was really annoying considering how dark it was. There was no lighting AT ALL in the coffee making area - therefore we really struggled in the evenings when wanting to make hot drinks and had to use the torches on our phones. The room lacked storage, and I think by having a basic set of drawers or something similar - would have been a lot more useful than a single rail with a few hangers. The bedside tables were absurdly small and low, making them really inconvenient to use. The key card holder was no where near the door, so you had to feel your way to it in the dark when coming in at night - to then put the key card in and turn the lights/ac on. We paid for parking for the duration of time that we stayed there, but we wish we hadn't - as it was really awkward to use. We had to get out of the car and manually open/close a gate to get in and out of the car park each time. We then had to drive down an extremely narrow slope - which made the whole experience VERY frustrating and exhausting to be fair. On the upside, the design of the hotel in general was; distinctive, young and quirky - but just not practical or well thought out. The staff were extremely accommodating, and couldn't do enough for you - but this regrettably doesn't counteract the downside to everything else. I don't like to leave reviews like this, but it's not often I feel as disappointed as I do - especially considering the costs.

Two weeks earlier I had booked 2 nights in this hotel, which seemed to be very welcoming, as a surprise for my partner's birthday. When I booked, I particularly focused on the room with terrace, which looked even more charming than the others. I didn't realise that I'd subscribed to a non-cancellable offer, and that it didn't matter because everything had been organised for the big day, including childcare for our three children, so in my mind it was impossible for us not to go. On the morning of our departure, my husband and I were stuck in bed with a fever of 40. The return of the covid. Unable to get on the road and aware that it would be disrespectful to go to a hotel in such a state, at the risk of contaminating staff and guests, I contacted the hotel, medical certificate in hand, simply to ask that the hotel suggest a date a few days later that would be convenient for them to postpone the stay until we had recovered. Like an automaton, the hotel replied that unfortunately the booking conditions made it impossible to find any solution, but that they hoped we would recover quickly and that we could stay with them at another time. Not the slightest compassion or flexibility, despite the case of force majeure presented to them. The hotel therefore offered us two nights including breakfast, which they were able to re-let a second time. Congratulations Supernova! Beautiful mindset to make money on good faith clients! On top of that, I found extremely unrespectfull that Supernova dares to write that "it looks forward to have the opportunity to host me in the future". Booking a room in Supernova has been equal than put 331 EUR in the trash! Dear Supernova, for your information, stating that you empathize does not make you empathizing! You didn't try to find any compromise to make that situation easier, you only got the money and gave my room to someone else who also paid it, like a machine would have done it. Now you are answering like a perfect machine that you are looking forward to host me in the future. In which world are you living? On my side, I am not a machine, Supernova is and will remain a really bad experience in Rotterdam so please be assured that I would rather spend double the amount for an hotel 2 times less charming and a respectful service than give just one cent more to Supernova!

We had most wonderful time at Supernova. The room was very comfortable and designed with great taste. I especially fell in love with the modern bathroom design:) Also the lobby area and the restaurant are very cozy places to hang out, have a coffee or a cocktail. The hotel stuff is extremely accommodating and helpful. Which definitely adds a lot of positive experience. The hotel itself is located close to the center, which makes it very convenient if you’d like to have a nice walk around Rotterdam. Supernova is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed! I very much recommend :)

Room Number 005 is perfect for families. wonderful tiny architecture with a nice garden. clean, cosey and lovely!

Very special hotel, hyper-design and clean with a very friendly atmosphere, hyper friendly staff and high-tech features such as electronic keys available on your smartphone. Very good breakfast. Only minor issue: not enough light in the stairs (may be tricky for less valid persons) and in the rooms.

Lovely hotel close to Central Station, restaurants and bars. Very comfortable bed, modern furnishings and very clean. Great breakfast. Would stay again.

Amazing hotel, very centrally located, beautiful modern design, super lovely staff, delicious breakfast and wonderfully comfortable rooms, super clean, wonderful beds and our room even had a record player. We can highly recommend this beautiful hotel! Perfect base to explore Rotterdam. Especially as you can also borrow bikes!

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. From the beginning the communication and the attention to make an early check in was perfect. The room is spacious and the design is very nice. I recommend it for couples. I would definitely stay here again.

Check-in was fast and friendly. The room was clean, comfy, and the amenities were nice. Excellent location with short walk to transportation. The only problem was when I had extended the stay by one day and reconfirmed at check-in. It was a long night and a staff member knocked on the door several times at noon to inform us in a discourteous manner that "Did you know check-out was at noon?" And I said yes, that we extended our stay. Then the staff said with a scowl, "When?" And I said since Friday. Unpleasant encounter and I could not fall back asleep afterwards. It was like, I'm inconveniencing you by extending my stay? Would I stay again? Perhaps.

Absolutely loved our short stay. Our room (107) was very comfortable and clean. Although on the road side we didn;t hear any traffic due to insulation. The bed was mega comfy too!

Brilliant design focused hotel. Super friendly and kind staff. Room was great, powerful aircon and good shower. Hotel also has a lift which is useful (and rare!) sometimes in smaller Dutch buildings. Breakfast spread was good (would love to see a few more options like avocado and plant based yogurt). A lovely stay overall, will definitely make it our base in Rotterdam for future trips.

It's a pity that my family and I have this unpleasant experience. When we took a shower at night, we found that the bathroom was poorly drained, the whole bathroom was flooded, and a sink was also poorly drained. Until the next morning, the bathroom was still flooded, my family and I stepped on the water to use the bathroom all night. After reporting to the counter staff, she took the tools to our room bathroom to push the water to the drainage hole. I chose the highest-rated hotels in the area to stay, but such accommodation facilities made me and my family feel that it was not worth it.

Just spend a night in this hotel. Really the best and kind employees I remember in years, top people, keep up the good work🙂 Rooms are good and clean, we slept at the front downstairs (room6), no sound from the road, so quiet enough. Next time we visit Rotterdam will certainly be the same Hotel! Thanks again!

Can't say a bad thing about this boutique hotel; we loved our stay at Supernova Rotterdam. The room and hotel was very elegant and perfectly clean. The rooms were big with remarkably comfortable beds and good pillows. The location was great, lots of restaurants within walking distance. We felt very safe. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Great laundry facilities. We loved the bike rental included in the stay. Definitely worth the more expensive price.

Wow! My father and I loved this hotel. It is centrally located, beautifully and ergonomically designed, well run and really interesting. Everything was well thought through and the rooms were very comfortable. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were great. What made this place stand out was the staff. They were very helpful, friendly and very efficient. The owners were also very friendly and helped me out as I was there looking for an apartment. Bike hire was included in the price and super easy too. All in all, we had a great trip! Keep up the excellent work! I'll be back!

This is the cutest boutique hotel. It’s a minimalist style. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was kind, courteous, and helpful. The “buffet breakfast” isn’t worth 17 euros in my opinion so I passed, and I would have loved to have had a suitcase rack, but I still would both recommend, and stay here again if I return to Rotterdam. The hotel is near the center, and walking distance from many businesses and restaurants.

Super friendly boutique hotel near the centre of Rotterdam. The staff here are second to none, breakfast is great and a good selection of drinks and light bites available throughout the rest of the day. Rooms are modern but cosy, and secure parking is available nearby for an extra charge. Highly recommend and will no doubt return!

Booked this weekend away with my partner for a suprise birthday trip. We really loved the hotel it was really cute and quirky. The wine bar was lovely too, a little expensive but that is to be expected as it was very good wine. Staff were friendly and professional too. Record player in the room with plenty of good records. Blackout curtains and queen size bed made it so comfortable.

When in Rotterdam this is surely the place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. Housekeeping definitely knows the true meaning of clean and tidy. The staff members, well their middle name most definitely be hospitality. In short I fell in love ♥️

My family spent 5 nights in Supernova and it is one of my favorite hotels. Modern, cosy, design, very clean, fabulous bathrooms - everything works perfectly, great toiletries, comfortable beds. Free bikes, good breakfast. Loved the lobby, restaurant and a small library to hang in. Staff is friendly and helpful, helped us with our room reservations, restaurants and taxi arrangements, all with ease and warmth.

Stayed two nights at the Supernova Hotel on a recent trip to Rotterdam. Hotel is well located a short 15 minute walk from Rotterdam Central Station. Check-in was super easy, the staff were all excellent. Loved the room, I had book one of the Urban Oasis split level rooms - if you are on the taller side this room might not be for you as the ceiling in the bed area is very low. There was access to a small terrace area from the room that leads to a little garden. The mattress quality was amazing, a queen - not two singles pushed together as is often the case and I slept like a dream. Rooms are completely blackout as well no light pollution from outside. The breakfast buffet was compact but everything was fresh and the quality of food on offer was excellent, fresh fruit choices, breads, meats and cheeses, pastries. They also have a barista coffee machine and will make your coffee to order - no pods or bitter vending machine coffee here, plus the added bonus of having a non-dairy milk option.

The hotel also have their own bikes that you can borrow during your stay in the city. Some very minor negatives about the room, I am here in November and it’s 10 degrees outside the wooden floor could do with a rug in the main area and another small rug near the bed as the floor was pretty cold first thing in the morning. It also takes some time to warm the double height room up. Other little things that bugged me was there was no where for my suitcase, no bag stand or bench. Smart TV was frustrating and switched it off. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend the Supernova Hotel and I look forward to my next visit.

Cute, trendy hotel with a comfortable lounge/bar area serving great coffee and cocktails. Lovely and helpful staff. Powerful shower which was great & loved having the bikes at our disposal too. There are a few things in the 001 Urban Oasis Room that are needed. This is a 2 person room but there is only one comfortable seat, where is the other person supposed to sit? When I asked at reception for another comfortable chair I was told the room was for "upto 2 people" so only 1 chair provided. I was kindly offered one of the metal chairs from the lounge area but it's just not the same as it's not comfy to sit back and relax in. Given that we were there for 4 nights over New Year, I would have liked to have been able to sit in the room with my partner for a morning coffee or evening drink without having to sit on the bed. We really struggled with the lighting in the room, we couldn't see a thing trying to make tea/coffee as there was no lighting in that area. I am quite small but the mirror in the bathroom is very high & I struggled to see in it so doing my hair and make up was a real issue. I had to stand on the little round blue stool which was not great. I would have used the full length mirror behind the door but as it's a smoked mirror, you can't do make up in a mirror like that, plus the hair dryer didn't stretch enough out to the door. Overall we loved our stay but there are some ways that the room could be improved.

Cool modern boutique hotel. Comfy, modern and big rooms. Breakfast was really nice with freshly cooked food and freshly made coffees ❤️Very friendly staff. Bicycles available for guests, be sure to be early as they have a limited amount available.

Mixed experience . Everything looks cool , trendy , design , but…. In The basic bedroom I had chosen , the impossibility to open the windows led me to ask for a change for a superior type bed room . For me that’s not only super unpleasant but also just unhealthy , especially in covid times . The new bedroom I got was like sleeping on a highway . Very very noisy . My ears saved me . All in all , in terms of confort , it was questionable . The team is friendly . The communication between all the people you deal with should be more fluid though . Sometimes the messages don’t pass inside the team . It put me in an embarrassing situation where I had to wait for a employee to check with her superior the discount her superior had granted me the day before ( discount due to the noise in my bedroom ) . The location is good . It’s super cool to have bikes at disposal . Still the bikes are very very heavy and slow . Like really really slow . You will be the slowest people riding in the city believe me . Mixed experience . Everything looks cool , trendy , design but…

Great hotel and fabulous staff. The hotel is close to everything and literally has several options for almost every need. The staff are all helpful and friendly, the room was large and well-appointed with everything we needed. The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor, several tables are also located with plugs nearby, so it is easy to work or surf the internet with any device. They have bicycles that you can rent at no extra cost. Recommended 10/10.

The hotel is exactly as shown in the photos. I booked a standard double room. The room was a good size and very clean with excellent lighting. Friendly staff. Good location (20min from the city centre by walking). The hotel also has its own parking lot (18 EUR per day) and in case you want to cycle around the city, they also offer bicycles. Negative: Very old elevator.

This is the second time we have stayed at the supernova Hotel and it gets better every time. The hotel itself is really nice with modern decor. The room sizes are good and the facilities also really good. The main thing that makes this hotel so enjoyable though is the staff/employees. They are amazing, nothing over the top, just extremely friendly and helpful people with a fantastic attitude towards visitors. Food options are good and rooms contain lots of amenities. The location is good if you are comfortable using public transport or the provided bikes, it is only a short ride to the center or a slightly longer walk. Lots to see and lots to enjoy the staff with help you find your way. We are booking up to visit again soon! Dankjewel Supernova!

Stayed at the Supernova Hotel in Rotterdam recently while looking for an apartment. The location is perfect (10min walk from central station). The room was spacious, modern and clean. Extremely comfortable and high quality mattress and bedding. The hotel itself is quite small but with a very unique design and atmosphere. You can tell a lot of effort was put into details, music, fragrances. The staff is very attentive and friendly, always willing to answer questions and they speak fluent English! They also have a self-service laundry facility and bikes for renting. Would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway or short-term stay!

We had a great stay at the hotel. This boutique hotel is well decorated and has a beautiful garden. We were greeted warmly by staff who had provided our room with a welcome note. We expressed openly our wishes to experience a local life during our stay & were presented with great recommendations of places to visit, eat & drink. Our room was spacious for a city break & sectioned well functionally between bathroom & bedroom. The bed is really comfortable. The bar located in the lobby has a great selection of nice spirits and bottled cocktails. The location is very close to Depot Rotterdam & is within walking distance of many quality shops, bars, restaurants, and points of interest. We received great local recommendations, felt comfortable, and loved our short time at Supernova Hotel. If I visit Rotterdam again I would be sure to stay here; and would recommend it to anybody interested in learning about the city & truly experiencing what the location has to offer.
